I can't believe this country in 2023. WT actual F?
No politics in this video - just a practical talk on survival in a society (just about) under rule of law.
The opinions are mine - yours may well differ, and that's fine - we're all grown ups here.
A SHTF video will come later...
Rifles featured:
Air Arms Pro Sport .177
Remington Express Compact .22
Daisy 880 .177
and a Frankenstein Carbein...

6 months ago I purchased an ex scaffolding van and kitted it out with everything I may need . Folding solar panels, high end big capacity power bank for said panels, weather filter kit, Trangia cooking kit with spirit burner ( fantastic bit of kit ), solar shower and hand pump portable pressure washer , nice comfortable sleeping kit and above all a Crosman .22 magfire mission and a cp2 victory . I now live permanently in this little van with my faithful staffy cross and we've never been more cosy and comfortable cruising around the west country. Such a shame this world and our future is in the hands of utter lunatics and war mongers. Peace and love people

Once again you are spot on with your views on survival, if I could have my life again that would that way of life of life I would go for, the trouble is I am in my 82nd year and have run out time, I cant even sit on the kazi without nearly falling of the bloody thing. Cheers Mick.

Everything is getting crazier, and so did I. I rebuilt my sailing yacht to a live-aboard bugout survival pod. I have with me a silenced 22 LR, but my main way to get food when SHTF is with hooks, traps, pots and nets. I refuse to be on land when society falls, hungry people aren't nice, they will kill you and take all your stuff, they might even eat you... On the sea there's no hungry people, plenty of food for everyone. Blessings! 🇸🇪

A career in the army infantry taught me a lot when I was younger. Chief among many lessons were the 7 P's: Prior Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance. For that reason I've kept a spanking, laser-accurate and perfectly tuned (read into that how you will) HW77k, along with thousands of Exact and Barracuda pellets tucked away. People have short memories. It was only 2 years ago the shelves were bone dry and we were queuing like dominoes around the country. Will the economic situation get worse? Maybe. Will my family go hungry? Absolutely not. By deal, hook, or crook; there will be food in the pot. I also like what you said about the modern disconnect between meat and animal. Couldn't agree more. Years ago I went out with a good friend of mine way into the hills, along with a tweed landowner for roe season. King of the BBQ this fella is but after some hours of skulking around under canopy, he settles in, levies up over Bambi's front shoulder in the distance, only to stop and experience something of a personal crisis. He passes on his opportunity to us, we take it, hang it, and some days later we ate it. I challenged him on this long after passions had abated. He feigned offense despite being well-fed, though we are still friends to this day. If lads still learned to run, build, fish, and hunt again, things might be different... but that's another can and story altogether.
@TheWeaponizedHippie

Good comment Christopher, thank you. You're damn right - folk have short memories. We have to survive regardless of what sh!t comes at us - their problems and agendas (those in power) will not become ours. They can blow their winds of change as much as they want but we'll carry on. On a different note - It's becoming clear through all the comments that Weihrauch make the most popular hunting rifles! Seems everyone has one. I feel I'm missing something..!

We need to prepare, the future is uncertain. My choice of hunting rifle is the HW 97, full power deadly accurate. I would like to add the Pro sport is my next wanted rifle, just need to save the money. It look likes there are dark times ahead, being prepared makes great sense. Arming yourself with a good hunting rifle is a must.

Yes indeed. It's strange these days, many folk view 'being prepared' as some kind of paranoia, when all it is - is maintaining the senses and frame of mind that has enabled our species to get this far, without impacting on our day to day function. Yet another Weihrauch! Apparently most of my commenters use Weirhauch rifles. As I said in other replies - I feel I'm missing out!

Excellent topic 🙂👍. 90% of the food in my freezer is fish I have caught or game that I have shot + road kill deer 🦌. My garden gets bigger every year. My best survival vegetable is butternut squash. Butternut squash will last over a year in a cool dark place. Buy some dry beans and rice every time you go to the grocery store, little here and a little there will go a long way. Learn how to pressure cook, find things that others would not care about and can it for the future. Learn everything you can about wild edibles. Learn how to cook and eat bugs and worms. Do not eat bugs raw they may contain parasites. Save plastic containers and fill them up with water for the future. Have plenty of lighters and fire starters. Have a plan and have it now. If you don't fish learn how to fish. If you have never eaten animal organs time to start learning and doing. Eat the eyeballs, brain, skin, everything except for the poop. Get in decent shape, you may have to fight for your life and the life of those you love. Weapon of choice is HW95 Luxus 22 or Marlin 60 22 rimfire.

Just discovered your channel and am a new subscriber. As an American I think it goes without saying that the regulations… on your air rifles is utterly ridiculous. Not going to get on about firearms but damn how I wish I could just send a good lad like you some proper magnum air rifles, only have big power break barrel gas pistons (no pcp… yet). But having access to actual guns it’s hard to justify spending a certain amount on something less capable, yet hope to expand into it regardless. Cheers
@TheWeaponizedHippie
@TheWeaponizedHippie Год назад
Yeah the regulations here are nonsensical. We just have to do the best we can with whatever is available to us these days. I'm old enough to remember better times though... but real freedom is a thing of the past. However, if I was lucky enough to live in the US then I think I'd still have a high power air rifle or two (in addition to my personal favorites of 1911, Mossberg 590 and AK-74) - if only because of ammo prices...!

this is one of the reasons i wasnt big onto the idea of a compressor or an oxygen tank when i was buying my PCP. i got it in a kit that came with a hand pump. the rifle i chose (gamo phox) has a fairly small fill reservoir, a disadvantage to most but an advantage to me as i can fill it up to 3000 PSI/200Bar in just under 2 minutes. its a bit of a workout but 2 minutes gives me around 60 full powered shots, without ever having to mess around with getting myself to a dive shop (i live in a city no where near the ocean so thats a pain in the ass), without having to pay the crazy prices for a tank, without having to get the tank serviced every few years. and if there ever was WORL etc, the pump has a full rebuild kit so its likely to last me around 10 years. I do agree that springers are likely to have less issues long run though, so id likely take both as a backup. great video as always
@TheWeaponizedHippie
@TheWeaponizedHippie Год назад
Hi Steve, yeah exactly the same reason why I chose my PR900/Stormrider. Easy fill with a manual pump, providing more than enough fast repeat shots to catch supper. I use it for vermin at this time but it's there if hard times really hit us.

Definitely not wrong, brother. I live in the US of A and the freedoms I've seen taken away in my life are astonishing when I think about it...I still live in a rural setting and very sheltered from what's going on. For now. I have thousands of acres of public land to hunt within miles of my home and 30 acres of my own which is a blessing. Sounds like Heaven for most I imagine, but the writing on the wall is clear. They are slowly taking our lands and they are coming for our guns too. They won't stop until they get them. I have a nice supply of air guns for that reason because I like to eat. Yeah we need to catch up brother - and you need to have a play with this SNR 357... I take it to work for a lunchtime plink every day! Too much fun. As for hunting - you know me. I doubt I've eaten animal more than a dozen times in 10 years (mostly Matts breakfasts!) but if I hit hard times I'll eat whatever I can kill.

Snares and catapults will do anything an air rifle can, the skills to use these tools doesn't take forever to learn. One of the best ways to improve your air rifle hunting or at least gain appreciation for an air rifle is to learn to hunt with a catapult. Come the apocalypse I can wander round being able to chuck 14mm leads about with the ammo in a sock in my pocket and a small catapult with a short fat band, hang about - I do that now!

Hello Mick, i am an Aussie living in the UK, I spent my child hood in Australia fishing, and shooting air rifles, I know the value of old school hunting skills. Right now at 63 and watching world news in stocking up, however I've been feeding the birds for 8 years in my back garden. If the SHTF those fat pigeon's and the squirrels will have cross hairs on them. So my survival stock has bird seed, and pea nuts. Thankfully I am 5 minutes to the woods as well. But I've trained nature to come to me for seed every day. I loved watching your video, and have decided to make you an guest Australian. Many thanks the Australian.

@TheWeaponizedHippie
@TheWeaponizedHippie Год назад
Indeed. A day spent at a slaughterhouse is all it would take for many folk to gain a new perspective really. Animals are not silly - they have inbuilt primal senses, the last day is likely the longest for them I'd guess. I did some construction work years ago at an abattoir and it's not a job I'll ever forget to be honest.

My survival skills have allways been good, but last year looked at weak spots in my skill set and it was hunting.. Being able to hunt, dress small game, so I started with a catapult, what a performance.. Took a long time to get accurate and I'll be honest it's probably ok around the 15 - 20 yard mark, a good friend suggested a break barrel air rifle. He even suggested a weihrauch hw95k, so I did, got one in 22, i had something similar as a kid, he even gave me a hawke scope. Wasn't long before my aim was accurate enough.. To take small game. Anything from 15 - 45 yards and I'm all good. The freezer now has a small game lucky dip.
