Hey if you're reading this then let it be known that my next video will be about Vampire Hunters 1, 2, and 3. Also this video is demonetized because copyright was shown for 32 seconds.
Vampire Hunters 3 is my favorite game! I hope you can enjoy it, since the mod team (i once was in the mod team) does their job to ban rulebreakers such as teamers.
I never played vampire hunters 1 vampire hunters 2 was team use bugs or die and vampire hunters 3 was the same thing (I teamed too and I regret it) but it slowly started dissapearing and now its a cool game ofc not perfect cuz is not even ready but I love it and hope they dont do a horrible update or something like that cuz this will dissapoint a lot hehe
@@7_skyline thanks bro. I ended up getting a 9-5 after I graduated high school anyways, and I'm working on my degree so life can only get better from here I hope...
As an original Before The Dawn enjoyer / fan, I can say that I truly do miss it, but I'm very fond of Survive The Night as well. Still, nothing beats BTD 2016 with the true horror.
Back when it had some jumpscares and you couldn't really choose what killer you wanted to be, you had to play as the killer that the map had chosen. Good times.
Damn right. I hate the fact that you can stun the slasher, that the Slasher doesn't insta kill anymore and some Slashers were downgraded like The Fallen, she no longer has that cool "teleporting" model movement. Krasue (the floating severed head) is now locked behind a gamepass, and you can choose your slasher for free so you can pick the most OP thing. It's also hard to be fast while also insta killing. You literally have to use the "doctor" slasher with a perk that makes you fast and boom you're back to being a decent slasher. I want to be the fallen like how it used to be in BTD og, but if you're the fallen high chance you lose because of the lame ability she's got. (She used to have a better one)
@@Xenorvya literally. i havent played since like a year now but i can only imagine how bad the game is now. the survivors are too op and its so annoying to go against loopers or constantly stunned. the fallen was one of my favorite slashers back in the day along with the scarecrow and i also prefer the original nightfall like i have no idea why they changed it up so much
As a diehard BTD:R fan, despite all the glaring balance issues, I still loved it because of the depth and variability in the gameplay. What with all the slashers (and their skins, which changed their stats), the gear items and perks survivors had, the heroes, and the maps with all their unique objectives. It was nice while it lasted. Shame the devs couldn't be bothered to actually take it into the right direction balance-wise.
I enjoyed BTD:R I was disappointed but more like saddened that development was no longer for it. I wanted to enjoy BTD:II but I couldn't, it's like a machine that you want to use but you cannot use and pointless to even try to use it because it had rusted to its crevices. Survive The Night is what that should have been made in the first place. I was worried about not getting "Nightfall" because it is my favorite slasher because of its story and character, even if it overpowered it was fun. I am glad I can earn it in Survive The Night but I really liked how you can unlocked "Nightfall" in BTD:R.
I wished BtD redux skins are like uk cosmetic I really did not want my stats to change cause of a mere skin tbh but yeah I enjoyed the game so much until they added evasion graze mechanics chainiac, palpatine, they even changed the down mechanic where you can only go down once so the no down perks that give you like huge buffs kinda is required but overall I enjoyed it
Yeah, it's not as fun since you can literally ignore detection entirely or stun lock the slasher if enough people put their mind to it and have right items
Gotta be honest, I'll miss the OG Before The Dawn, and Redux I guess, but after playing those and BTD2, I gotta say, I am perfectly fine and happy with Survive The Night.
It's funny because cause Survive The Night is a shell of what it once was back then. The devs simply cannot resist their urges to add ridiculous unnecessary stuff into their games. Survive The Night, starting off great, was still based around being a remake of the OG BTD. The main game mode was still hide and seek, and it stayed true to what it was trying to be. But over the next few years, Survive The Night has added way too many slashers, way too many OP survivor items, Objectives (which is literally breaking the whole "BTD remake" aspect since BTD was only hide and seek), an overly complicated menu that replaced a completely fine menu, and also a hilarious attempt at a story mode. Not to mention half the fanbase that still plays it use the most overpowered gears and slashers so they practically never lose. What Survive The Night was trying to overwrite, trying to destroy, is what Survive The Night eventually became. Now it has barely over 100 active players, because everyone is done with it.
exactly if they just balanced redux they wouldve had a decent fanbase ngl. call me a redux cultist or whatever but redux regardless of its flaws, was still really good and I hate the fact they got rid of it.
To a kid who liked horror movies, BTD R was the coolest thing ever. I remember pulling long hours into playing that game, and when it got pulled, man was I sad and confused. Nice to know what happened to it, I guess
I was a fan of BTD franchise since the very start, ive been through all the games and ive seen this in slightly different way. Old BTD and Redux were both good and they were different, like you have the feeling that you are in the same universe yet you have different things to do - either survive six minutes by parkouring and praying for not to get caught or doing tasks to escape. Both of them seemed pretty serious, like they were parodying movies and all yet they had lore behind it, for example a game Mountain Deluge was a cool quest for Redux to get Nightfall slasher and the devs actually cared about the atmosphere of the game, its not these silly/dumb things like piggy, its tons of work and effort. And sadly after some time they started throwing everything in Redux, balance was torn apart but still, game was pretty fun, just with different balancing now. (yeah i managed to survive cursed gamemodes lol) and thats not even that big of a devs issue, its just hard to balance everything correctly when you throw more and more things into the game, and devs clearly didnt want their effort to die. they did actually great job, like the hero mechanics is actually good and interesting, ive never seen something like it anywhere else, when skins changed stats of things and so on. but i was very sad after seeing redux was finished and BTD 2 announcement was just like return of a forgotten legend and i was absolutely hyped, i completed the entire Night Shift and was actually happy even though i hate grinding, ive seen all the effort put into it. At the first time it was really hard in Btd 2, like obviously problems with proper balancing and things like that, but i still loved it in the other way, it didnt seem like a remake of any previous games, it was unique and good on its own, i started liking the amound of hardcore for survivors, like i just treated the game as its supposed to be hard and i enjoyed every single moment of it, the lobby was done very well, the maps, music, slashers. then they removed redux, then old btd, and after all, they scrapped the btd 2. i was just done at this point, my favourite games were dead as hell and killed by the devs themselves. and then i see STN appear with some modern cringy images of silly slashers on the main page and i literally just didnt know what to think, like i was speechless. all this effort put into the atmosphere and mechanics and even lore were just screwed for this, a better detailed piggy basically. at the start balance also was dead and my sadness literally was beyond any limits, Rach already tried remaking Redux into her other game Slash but i dont even consider it a horror or anything besides that grinding silly game from the popular games list. now its playable and i like the idea of murch shop, more map secrets, actually more lore lol, the last trailer is just about it, so right now im sad that all the other games are dead and dont have any players in them, im glad it performs as a neutral place for both new and old fanbase, entertaining both "factions" and devs trying to balance things properly this time (even though they still dont 100% succeed lol but still its very stable now ) , that the game has a future and i hope it just wont die out as soon as they lose the border of balance again because this is the last franchise game alive right now.
BtD2 was (atleast in my opinion) more fun during the early alpha/beta phases, as survivors could actually defend themselves from the slasher somewhat, teamwork actually increased survivability, and special rounds/gamemodes spiced things up then it all got removed in favour of amogus or something like that
@@Breadian yeah it was really fun, I remember throwing bottles at the killer and also being stunlocked as the killer when survivors grouped up, i miss those times as btd2 has become very boring and the only thing i find fun is locking killers in rooms multiple times lol
I used to play before the dawn redux a lot cause it was really fun,it had objectives to do and an new thing”hero” which either defending the survivors or protecting urself more, plus the fact that survivors had a lot of different playstles like slashers made it unique. The only problem I saw was the rng based and camping issues. Edit:Also the lack of updates and balance lol
It was fine as it is but they added uh rng mechanics palpatine chainiac then reworked how downs work where you can only go down *ONCE* so the perks that make you insta die if you go down is required
8:57 wasn’t expecting the feature LOL. You hit it on the nail with how four years goes by much slower for younger kids. I remember playing Redux and even the original for hours upon hours and lost interest when it was left broken. Never really got into BTD2 and I’m glad I came back after it got scrapped in favor of STN. Now I find myself playing it for hours upon hours once more all these years later. On a side note I’ve always been fond of the Until Dawn house from the original and it’s nice to see how much they’ve expanded it. I think I’ve figured out how I want to construct my future house.
Ye, I played a lot of BTD redux and the original but I’m not so interested in STN that much (even tho it’s basically the same game) , but I acknowledge that it’s for a different audience than me so it’s ok lol. I did get bored of redux eventually so the shutdown wasn’t so abrupt from my POV. Also good luck on your future house pls let me see I’ll sleep in the basement💕
You make some good points, i just want to point out that in all games if you get caught by the slasher, you're most likely immediately dead, and the survivor abilities in BTDII were specifically made to work better together. Dunno why they made this decision since most people travel alone, but still.
I really miss the very first version of BTD, it’s a shame that it became no longer active to play anymore because it was my favorite horror game to play and I even remember when there use to be a Stranger Things map on there along with the demogorgon :(
I wish survive the night had a redux version too, sadly there's only one objective and that is hiding, instead of the old redux game where you had to do generators, or fix a truck. I miss the game.
a very well made vedio surpricing for such a small channel but there is just one thing your getting wrong, none of the BtD or stn games are based on dbd actually none of the devs have ever played dbd so it's just a coincidance
@@yangler9935 hm i mean playing a game doesn't necessarily mean they based their game on it, ofc they could have used some ideas from dbd but from what both spidey and rach have said BtD is not based on dbd
I was so upset when they deleted Before the Dawn: Redux. They just gave up on it completely. They didn't even bother fixing or at least balancing the meta back then which Achilles Heel and Medical Drone. Because of that, this forced players to use killers that can counter them which is speed boost killers. Eventually, the meta killed the game. :((
bro ......... the game was my childhood i would say everyone play this game its so fun but now that i found out that my childhood game died my heart will always look at this game in pieces.
BtD2 PTS was amazing....full release got the game....down since lot of the good things was taken off... But in fact, i love the Survive the night since I've been huge fan of classic btd when it was up i played that a lot and it was my heart game back in the times...i think this new cooler remake gives the legacy
I recently started playing survive the night. I used to play redux when it first came out and it was a legit game. But what sucked the most for me was the lack of support for other platforms. Mobile found btd redux extremely laggy and on xbox sometimes u couldn't even press the play button in the menu. (i didn't have a pc) which lead to me quitting btd. I never actually returned back until a few days ago. I remembered btd and tried to play it again. Only to find it was shutdown. After watching ur video i was able to know what actually happened to redux.
Im glad you found my video informative haha. Ty for sharing your mobile perspective btw. I wasnt able to play BTD2 because my shitty laptop couldnt run it so I tried it out on xbox and I wasnt a big fan honestly.
For my opinion, Slash was mostly pretty bad. It didn't feel like BTD at all. It just felt like some battle-royale type "horror game" Survive The Night however, its a pretty good remake of the original. The True Successor (probably?)
I never played slash so I can't really give an opinion on it, but I do remember seeing the game's icon and description and I was immediately turned off by it. It just looked like a game that I wouldn't enjoy.
Never really knew much about BtD and this video explained it very well. If I was shown this video without seeing your sub count I woulda assumed you had at least 100k, great video man your hella underrated. btw on the topic of aurek team maybe do a video on Overheat/Mech Warzone?
Ok, going to be honest, I wasn't around roblox around OG BTD and I found redux itself on 2021 january right after having like rank 200 on btd 2. I instantly fell in love in the game, there were just so many gears and abilities and oh my god. My first build was Medkit x Second Wind and the map was Tantive, my first hero game was on graveyard, lol. After playing for some time, I started realizing the balance flaws. Last chance was really powerful and underrated, med drone and achilles heel were "Equip & Win", the game FORCED you to do objectives 24/7 otherwise you wouldn't make it out (because as you stated, 6-7 minute games) which led to speed meta, heroes like winter knight, time shifter etc. And after some time I've started maining some fun builds. You know, defib with second wind, the true selfless, medkit and last chance, trap and bulwark/regeneration etc. and I still enjoy redux to this very day. Don't get me wrong, I still play STN and I'm around rank 270. My opinion on STN? It forces you to use roaming/hiding build. Which is fair, given the fact that the game is around hide and seek, but the fact that there are stuff like shield, camera etc. that rewarded aggressive gameplay, it just felt kinda unfair, there were MANY gears and perks for looping yet none were actually useful, doors are 3-hit, new slashers tend to do something about looping (Ghoul, Arachne, Nightmare as examples) and the game's starting to be annoying, as I'm a chase-lover person. Also the new maps suck. Like, everyone hates them. And even though there's a suggestions channel on the discord, I've seen only 1-2 suggestions get added. And the second suggestion was like 5 months ago (it was similar to ghoul's ability) so I'm 99% sure they didn't take the inspiration from that. Stuff like Deep night Goggles + High lumen Bulb is very dumb and reminds me of Spy drone x Achilles heel meta. You run at fastest speed possible at all times AND can blind the slasher? I've used that build for 8 HOURS and died only 3 times (By arachne, murderer and miers respectively). The game's balance is starting to slowly diminish, however it's going strong. I really love the fact that speed+ and other stat+ or a special ability gives you +1 or +1.5 speed (some guy tested them), leg man alone gives you +2 and the fastest perks (aka +3) have decays like adrenaline (it's still op despite the decay) and re-worked achilles heel. Rework would be actually good for redux considering your speed goes down by each hour, it'd incentivize getting objectives done. Also, there's a redux fangame that goes strong with updates but has 0 players at like all the times, which kinda sucks. The last update was like 2 weeks ago and the dev build of the fangame got update 30 mins ago last I checked which was today. Anyways, great video! Also yeah, BTD 2 sucked.
Survive The Night is nothing but a big shame mass. Players can't run, can't hold their breath, can't open the doors manually, the killers are just "one hit - one kill"s. Maps are not dark anymore. It seems to me that there is a tendention to simplify horror games to make little kids play them, and it makes "new age" Roblox horrors absolutely awful, not challenging and not scary at all.
i remember being someone who played btd 2's PTS a ton, and i think it was genuinely fun, then they put limits on item uses, which became a bit annoying, but at least cooldowns were faster, then they changed how bottles worked, instead of throwing them to stun the slasher, you now drink them for some pretty useless stamina if you cant stun them, and then there was the removal of slashers multiple abilities, changing things from exciting chases with multiple things to keep tract of, to boring you always will die chases, because im pretty sure they tried to make the game be scary when it couldn't and turned a fun game to a bad horror game, honestly would love and probably still play it if they hadn't made those changes
bro before the dawn was my absolute favorite game. i was terrified of the game and i still absolutely adored it as well. i remember being so terrified of Eyes that one day i went over to my mom and complained to her about it LMAO. i stopped playing roblox for a while due to personal issues and came back to it quite a while ago. honestly i was kinda really sad when i discovered BtD was no longer avalible. it held a huge lot of memories. i'm very happy that the devs are happy with survive the night-however, it's not for me. it lacks the scary aspect and felt P2W. (side note: i forget if it actually is, i heavily doubt it knowing the devs, but i'm not touching the game again so...) it just wasn't fun for me. i do honestly wish you could still access BtD.
All STN had to do was add a slasher, map, gear, a couple of skins and would still be flowing at 3-5k players. Heck, they didnt even HAD to add a whole new slasher, they could just make a skin about a popular horror character at the time and it'd get some more players
I remember when I was introduced to Before the Dawn by AgentJohn2 (who sadly doesn’t upload that much anymore) and since I didn’t have a PC I checked it out at Friends house. I was kind of those loyalist but not really. It was a game that I would forget then remember.
The entire Before The Dawn trilogy were probably my favorite games on roblox, with Redux obviously being my favorite. Survive the Night is still pretty good. My main gripe with it is a bit of tone and the animations not feeling impactful enough. That and some of the slashers, namely Coyote, just... Don't fit right. Maybe there's a lore reason as to why the "good guys" are working in favor of The Deep Night, or maybe there is no reason. And now, I would like to share two memories I still have back when I played Redux and BTD:II in their early stages. There was a time in Redux, back when the spectating system was stylized as the Survivors having clip-on cameras or something. The cameras had a filter on it and always made the map have that dark, night-vision theme to them. There were two survivors on the parking lot map, and I started watching the one in front. They were both running from The Murderer, the person behind the one I was watching getting hit. Then the one I was watching turns around to see their friend crawling on the ground towards them, only for the Murderer to deliver the final strike. BtD:II was fun too, as I specifically remember a moment where I was using the Warden in the beta. At the time that slasher class had a chain-pull move like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. I had found the main group of survivors that had escaped me before, used that pull ability, and it grabbed a poor low-health guy to my side who I immediately killed in one swipe, then went for the rest. I didn't even turn to the poor guy when I killed him because I wasn't expecting him to be pulled LMAO. To me back then, it almost felt like something actually out of a horror movie. Oh, and remember Slash? I quite liked that one because I liked the customization. Even if it was kind of just weird..
As someone who had played all three versions when they were popular, I have to say I agree with many points made. I remember a lot of moments in the original, but even now I still go and play stn sometimes and it it does bring back distant memories of the previous versions.
Will always miss the original 2016 before the dawn, a lot more horror based. Had good balance overall and a great selection of slashers. Loved the inspiration and the old lobby taken from the 2015 Horror game until dawn, one of my favourite games.
Hey, I know I'm extremely late to this, but I never even knew that Before the Dawn II was even a thing, and this is coming from someone who sunk tons of hours into Before the Dawn and Before the Dawn: Redux. I absolutely loved both games inspite of their flaws and if I knew there'd be a second game I'd be on top of it, hearing the death of one of my classic favorites happened all without me knowing makes me kinda sad it took me this long to see or hear about it. Anyways, that's all, it's cool to see them continue the newer brand despite the name feeling cheesy to me and I hope their player count in Survive the Night continues to rise. Thanks for this video, it's always cool to see something I completely forgot about make a return!
You and me both, I learned of it earlier than you did but it’s still late since I just found this video 😅 I remember last year wanting to play redux with a friend because it was such a long time since I last played it, only to find out that it was completely broken and no one was really playing it 😭😭😭
BTD was my favorite game I played on roblox from when I started playing Roblox in 2017 I played BTD and BTD:R and it was my favorite game ever. I played it for hours everyday and never got bored. There was so much effort, the soundtrack was amazing, the UI was amazing, the game had an amazing atmosphere and felt super polished. When I heard about Redux I was so excited. And personally, it didn't disappoint at all, the idea of tasks being added untop the original game was amazing. I had no problems with balance at all. I loved the game so much because it could be played over and over again unlike other horror games on roblox. I played the game all the way until it's inevitable downfall when I first saw it reach 0 players. I was really sad and decided to check out survive the night. Survive the Night in my opinion was an absolute dissapointment. The game felt low quality and very unpolished. It seemed slapped together and nothing compared to the original. I really wish the developers listened to the community and cared about balance more. I'd still be playing the game to this day. BTD:R was my favorite game and after remembering the game today it's just really sad to finally hear the story about the game (I have never been active in the community outside of Roblox). I really hope developers come along and make a game like this again. I'd do it myself, I just don't have the time. I'd do anything to have a game like BTD again. Thank you for making this video, BTD really deserved more then it got.
That’s crazy, I feel the exact same way about this. I feel like no one else also likes Redux anymore. Like they just abandoned their favorite game. I do know a few people who would like to bring it back, including myself.
honestly the only thing i would want is to go back in time and enjoy the games even more, since it really hits different when your a child more than being an adult seeing jumpscares and scary things nahh bro when i was a kid i was litteraly screaming when i get chased by the monsters but now its like ''oh what a silly monster jumpscare ohh i lost!''
Same honestly, redux was the best and the fact that the devs tried to copy it three times and they all either flopped or are currently flopping just shows how much they fumbled the bag.
As a current STN fan, it seems like history is repeating itself. (Just to add on, in it’s glory days, it got near 1000 players each update, but sadly, it’s dropped down to 300, not to mention them losing a modeler has definitely made updates come out slower.)
Honestly, First BTD, Redux and slash were the most enjoyable games i ever played and reminded me of dead by daylight by the different perks and gear choices you had. I know its the same with BTD 2 and STN but STN its instant kill if you get caught which sucks so hard that i wished STN didnt existed, BTD 2 theres no mystery how fans and i disliked the game.
I used to love before the dawn, I loved the connection to the amazing game until the dawn lobby and the first DBD Roblox game made. I wish it was still on the platform the last time I ever played it was a server with at most 5 players, God knows how many hours I spent I’ll never get back.
I hate that StN deleted BTD:R , it replaced BTD:R in its entirety when StN could’ve been it’s own separate game and both sides would be happy, but no, we can only have one side of the coin.
I used to play Before the Dawn (and redux when it came out) RELIGIOUSLY, and literally everyone including me despised cursed. It was an extremely unfair mode. (I skipped BTD2, never played it. Just redux and BTD1. I've started playing STN now)
This is a very great video, as someone who has played since BTD (The 2016 one) and till now i honestly liked the video. Though i feel like its missing some points, mostly the whole community. My personal experiences with the community is extremely bad, sure others may differ but hear me out. Rachjumper seemed a bit... Eh, when i first saw him talk. He wasnt bad as in a bad dev, but neither way he good, but the "good" side of him grew up on me well. After time passed, i became less and less and less active on the discord, since a lot of people usually talked about something i never understood and i saw some general toxicity and hostility, a reason why i kept quiet. A little bit of time skip, STN has reached some decent popularity, and i decided to re-visit Aurek Team Dev discord and... Oh my god, the server is now a toxic cesspool. I no longer can view Rach the same way i did before. I used to look at Rach with: "Damn, he is skilled definitely, he just dosent know how to balance stuff... I guess." but now? All i can see is greed, toxicity and hostility, and (Imo) disrespect towards the more OG players. His point of: "I will be replacing BTD: Redux with STN because it dosent give money anymore." is such a bad move, because it shows how badly greedy he is, not to mention the over priced gamepasses and that aint the first time that happened, Overheat suffered the same fate where literally even some weapons are locked behind a paywall. And also if he complains about Redux not giving money, then what about Slash? What about the classic BTD? What about BTD2? This is again the whole point of me seeing him disrespecting the fans of Redux... Oh, sorry the "Redux Cultists" because i can no longer say i am a fan of Redux. The whole "Redux Cultists" thing made me scared to say anything in the Discord because well... You perfectly know. Back to Rach, he also did some targeting at a game. Another game called "North Hills: Survive the Night" was targeted by Rachjumper to dislike bomb the game, and then had the balls to compare both games Dislike/Like ratio, which mind you STNs Dislike/Like ratio is from the BTD: Redux because remember he replaced it. He also poked fun at the Redux game he put up for "Redux Cultists" which is funny. Something about Spidey, i feel like Rach constantly forces him to work on STN, i cannot confirm this nor deny it, but its a feeling because of how long the rework for APT has taken, and many times Spidey said: "Oh it will release soon." and then it never did, but not only APT is being slowed down, the "Something in the Woods" game has shown 0 progress, literally 0, discounting the starting ones. I also viewed Spidey as a good guy, more of a good guy then Rach, but i can see a change now. Also quick thing about mods: Rach and the mods dont seem to really care about their own rules. A few days ago i saw a person get muted for a unclear and false reason, when he came up to another mod and said: "Why was i muted i didnt do anything." The other mod was like: "u ar unmuted, u ar fine." and it shows how much the mods dont care what they do with their powers, or even the lack of cooperation in the mod team about what should be muted and what shouldnt. Its funny how the second rule literally states this: "2. Respect and be civil towards the other members of the discord." and yet this one gets broken the most, due to the toxicity the server has and hostility towards "Redux cultists" and this makes me feel like that there are only "New people" coming from STN, but not OG people staying because of STN. Before you say anything, i do play STN, but for the sake of seeing the game and its updates, i dont want to play it and reach a high rank like i did in Redux because i know eventually the game will die and all of the progress will go down the drain. Speaking of Redux, i am above 250+ rank in that game, or well was, and its another reason why replacing Redux with STN kinda tilted me, but i just had to live with it, shrug it off and move forwards. Though, the recent STN update ruined the game for me. The addition of Chainiac literally annoyed me and honestly, i feel like it annoyed a huge portion of people, because i cant see the same amount of popularity STN usually gets from an update so. *Shrug* Sorry for the lengthy comment, its just what i feel like was missed out when it comes to the community of the game and Rach himself. Anyway, have a good one whoever read this entirely. Note: Just because i dislike Rach and the community, dosent mean i instantly am a Redux Cultist, sure Redux was extremely unbalanced and it was my great way to spend time when i was younger, and i loved it to bits, but i have the ability to move on, i just didnt liked the way Redux fans were handled. Until a massive RU-vidr calls out on Rachs behavior, Rach will keep on getting away with this.
btd redux was my favorite game actually, i think i was around level 253, and it was so fun to play. then i suddenly forgot about it. one day i felt nostalgic and went to search for it again, just to find out it got replaced by something else. I got so sad, because it was such a fun game, i'd play it everyday, but i was like "alright then, why dont we test this out" but i found survive the night rather too difficult or i dont know, maybe i was just upset because the game got replaced. I think they should bring it back, same about slash too, but i bet theres even a chance for that.
15:46 I was just casually watching this video then my heart fucking skips a beat when I read "Prap" in the discord messages. THAT'S ME! In all honesty, Before the Dawn II had so much potential to be a great game, but it was seriously one-sided and most of the time you'd be hoping for the slasher to have some sort of dementia to actually have a shot at escaping. It only took about a month before the game just died.
@@BerryHunter slash wasn't that bad of a game all tho it was more on the combat side than horror it was still a alright game if only they would have continued updating it instead of leaving it for its own, could have been something.
i was actually sad when it was removed btd redux it was one of the most nostalgic games met new friends and it was one of the best and i will remember it forever in my mind (bruwww
i wish we still could play the original before the dawn it was one of my favorite games i played it all the time but then redux and before the dawn 2 got created and everyone abandoned the first game
Another game that's similar to BTD:R is Daybreak. There are a variety of diverse survivors (who each have their own lore that connects to some of the killers or other survivors) and killers with different skill sets suited to your liking. Not to mention, there are a lot of amazing skins, victory poses, and voice lines in-game for killers and survivors. In my opinion, the game is well-balanced since they make regular balance tweaks and updates. However, in the Wastewater Treatment and Hospital map, which are smaller, it's easy to get gen-locked, and we all get claustrophobic if someone plays a stealth killer. Anyways, I've only been playing for a short while, but now I'm level 600.
I played that game quite a bit and have a decent amount of skins and stuff. Stopped playing it because a lot of people in the game complain about you doing anything whatsoever and are overly sensitive at times. It made me truly appreciate how Dead by Daylight doesn't have in game chat.
Even with this revamp. They need to balance it badly because the killer is faster than u and can jump like an Olympian and can hear ur breath AND can detect u. Also they have a killer that can detect someone at all times. Predator… who always can see one person at a time. Like QUE?
This is a really good video! I still remember that conversation where I made the joke about how much people hated redux cultists (as seen at 15:32 with the gun emoji). The discord server has had their bad times, sure, but things are finally starting to look up! :D Also yeah, the graveyard/ghoul maps in btd 2 were hated because of those damn walls lol.
I remember the old BtD, me and a group of randoms just equip the baseball bat and stun the slasher for so long that it will make them ragequit, I was the best player using the baseball bat, always strafing and juke'ing the slasher, yet me being a good distraction and sacrifice
I remember one of the OG strats of the very early versions of Before the Dawn was to make your character purely black with no accessories or any clothes on and then just hide in the darkest corner and it actually worked.
I wouldn't consider myself a redux cultist, but I miss that game. I find that STN is a bit bland because there isn't an objective, but in terms of balance it's ok. In particular I hope that Heros are brought back to future titles as well, and not in the way Redux did it. I remember using the Plague Doctor hero because I often found that the Slasher would camp victims they downed, so I played doctor for ranged revives. I was actually told off for USING plague doctor because it somehow "hindered the team." I think I was told this because other heros were just better than doctor, and because I wasn't slave to the Meta and using Arachnid or something I was automatically a detriment. I still used doctor anyway, but to spite instead.
My favorite hero was the time stop dude And i had the nightfall skin for him which made him stop the killer for 20 secs but at the cost of a 180 secs cooldown I love it but i rarely use that skin cause 180 is way too much and 10 secs stop is enough but damn was it funny AF trolling the killer with it 😂
I remember before the dawn, this actually unlocked a memory of the potion bar, staying up multiple nights trying to get coins for certain killer skins.
Before the Dawn was way better than Survive the Night. BtD: Redux merely needed some things fixed and it would be alive by now Now STN even with all the dumb updates it gets no more than 100-200 players (Before the Dawn had around 300 the moment it was deleted)
As a player that played the original BtD and then BtD:R, I really enjoyed the gameplay of them a lot, me and my friends would play it for hours and a often when we could. I did notice things in Redux that I didn't like but I found it okay, the only thing I found that was very annoying is the revives, and how it's easy for the killer to camp (which I guess is why they never brought that gimmick back). I had fun with them. I tried BtD2 when it came out, and... I did not like it one bit. Survive the Night I am glad they went back to their roots while also doing new things, because I actually do like how the gameplay was with the older games. Also, I agree. In Redux, I only liked the Fixing Generators mission maps, the other ones were just annoying and I did not like because they were not fun to look. It was like finding a hay in the needle stack.
Years later, and i have to say that the biggest mistakes aurek team did were removing BTD and BTD Redux. Slash and BTD 2 were indeed some big downgrades from the original 2 games, and as much as STN is similiar in some ways to the first Before the dawn, the full removal of the first one wasnt necessary.
@@Breadian The map might spawn you near the barn area but its pretty hard to fill up 2-3 gas stations that take 3 gas cans each with an active slasher. It still has fences, still has a lot of locked doors and gas cans take 5 seconds to interact with and an aditional 5 seconds to do the long animation to put a single gas can in a single gas station. Did I forget to mention the slasher that will shred through your teammates and leave you the last man standing forcing you to do 6 gas cans.
Sure, it is possible if people dont instantly die to slasher and coordinate putting gas cans in the same station, but one wrong gas can in the wrong station and the round is already lost and it has happened too many times to me
As good as survive the night is. I will always remember before the dawn as my favorite game from rachjumper. That classic style of hide and seek and horror was amazing and I’ll never forget it for the great game it was.
i loved the original BTD game, but i still liked the redux version a lot because of the objectives. i used achilles heel and that bubble gear, it worked like a charm, yes i was that player 😭 now survive the night is just disappointing. i remember playing the other story game that allowed you to unlock nightfall in the original BTD, that’s how i got that slasher
2 things . . 1 nice video! 2 (long, and bad English) I was someone who was part of the fever of BTD redux (No money to get DBD ), and I remember how imbalanced was by survivors perks or the same slashers ability’s or the map with find the keys, at one point was only vitated nightfall as a hunter and op survs. when BTD 2 Came out I was genuinely exited! Until I played just 3 rounds as a surv and slasher, I try to like it, but, it was imposible! Then survive the night came out and it’s a really nice game, still now there is a lot of imbalance *cof cof* healing and lot of health perk *cof cof* still there is hope of this getting fix unlike BTD redux (that I wish they just re-program som stuff and get rid or fix the dam keys). And lastly I like the thing that there is some extra objectives that gives the map a new effect and aren’t the central thing to get a win! Also would be nice if they revealed the lore of the nightfall virus by secrets on some maps example the type of factory or in the same lobby, it will be interesting to see if that happens(and nice form to reveal lore since, who doesn’t like to get lore by discovering by themselves)
I honestly thought you had WAY more subs with this amount of quality! You need more subs! and i remember playing before the dawn in 2016 and started playing survive the night because i loved before the dawn :)
I miss before the dawn with objectives, it's sad to see that the game is now so simple like the first version (i liked the old version too but something feels off about survive the night, i just dont enjoy it), really wished it had an objective mode, they could mix the 2 things y know? Like choosing an gamemode (survival or objextive), but it's better this way for the game since more simplicity drags more players since roblox playerbase is made out of children.
