Hey everyone, I am one of the people that managed to get this information to the public mostly by speaking with the creator of Nano Infection, I just want to send a message on behalf of the creator of them. Yes he was upset over the 'creation' of Undead Nation originally but regardless of that he understands that people grew up with undead nation and knows they wish to relive the nostalgia Ninjaxrasx/Exeplex made for many people in the Roblox Community.
I just found our 5his shit today after literally hoping back on roblox after so many years this week this monday and today its saturday my world is blown literally he didnt fuck around when dreamybull said AMBATABLO
@@brunitoknolastname69420 It's a dick move definitely, but you can't just say he's a bad person. One action does not define your whole as a person. You don't know him personally.
Not to be melodramatic, but the reveal that Undead Nation - a game that I spent money and a lot of my younger years on - was shocking. The fact he'd be so disingenuous about Undead Nation and its development was, although unsurprising given how copying games used to be rampant back in like 2012 ROBLOX, was still something that caught me off-guard. I think people should be made more aware about this obscure piece of ROBLOX history. Also, thanks for reminding me that the swamp game exists. That's old as hell.
The people shown in the thumbnail with the gravity gun at 25:12 are actually from a youtube channel called Venturiantale who were very popular some years ago. Anyways, I wanted to share that I often used to replay Undead Nations a few years even though it was considered an old game by then too. I don't know why I kept coming back to the game... there was something sort of magic bringing me back. I also revisited other games such as Adventure Forward 1, Adventure Forward 2 and Defenders of Roblox because I somehow still enjoyed playing them. It has been a long time since I have played roblox, and I have almost forgotten my experiences of these passionate games, but fortunately you made me remember, so thank you. I treasure these memories because I was just a little kid having fun without a care in the world and played for many hours a day. Nowadays, I have been feeling empty and lonely because I was not prepared to deal with being an adult, but this video reminded me of these precious moments and helped me calm down and become happy for a little bit. So really thank you for making this video. I hope you become successful in the future and wish you well. I hope you can make a video on an old roblox game called Pokemon Battle Brawlers. I have spent so much time on it, but in the end, it was deleted because this was one of the pokemon roblox games that nintendo deleted some years back which includes games like Pokemon Brick Bronze and Pokemon Legends.
Dam Pokemon Battle Brawlers, I remember spending so long in that ice maze(I think?) unlocking that legendary at the end of the maze, and eventually stopped playing because I accidentally pressed save when i joined a server instead of load and pressed load again which wiped my progress lol.
The situation is a sad one to see and it would've been interesting to see what would've happened if Nano Infection got the praise compared to Undead Nation. While the creator of N.I. has expressed discontent with Undead Nation, their statement and acceptance on players love for Undead Nation does make them a better person (if that is of any concern to any individual). Regardless, both games are still playable and one can share a liking to both. And maybe you'll find something in interest in my take of UN (as being granted permission by both developers in question), where I attempt to remain faithful to UN, implementing concepts and ideas wanted in NInf, and adding my own spin onto the story past-Chapter 13/14.
really surprising information to come across today lol this really explains all the randomness throughout the game and I find that to be wild. really good video for covering something like this! also just one thing, but do you plan to cover old rpg’s? (legend of the creeper kingdom, the legendary swords rpg, the legend of the bone sword, etc) I have a lot of old memories with these games and I don’t see them mentioned often lol
@@Breadian It's not exceptionally old, but Cube Cavern holds a special place in my, and many people's hearts. I'd be glad to hear you talk about it :) Also, on a somewhat unrelated note that I thought would be funny enough to mention: the only thing I ever made which was popular was CCM (Cube Cavern Memories) at around age 10-11, which was one of the dozens upon dozens of Cube Cavern fan-games that persisted from 2018-2020. Kind of insane how popular those were considering that most of them were pretty low effort, only really just being clones of CCC.
funnily enough, this roblox game was the game that made me realize i like videogames, i remember little 7/8 year old me playing this in 2013 and acting like it was the coolest game ever but as you grow up you realize that some of the games you used to love are Not great
“it really brings into question how many games we used to play that were stolen” Nintendo Minigames is basically a reskin of Minigame Mania. It was open sourced in early 2010, which is why Nintendo Minigames was able to use their script - rather than it being stolen. It makes me wonder how many other minigame places during that time period used the same minigame script(s)..
holy shit who knew one of my best classics, the holy grail of within all zombie games i've played, is a stolen game? even to this day undead nation has had a place in my heart, because it was so cool that the game has this sort of charm of a very good zombie story game back then.
The thumbnail at 25:09 with the gravity gun is of a RU-vidr named VenturianTale who played Gmod a lot and was popular around the time undead nation was out. I used to watch him a lot as a kid, not sure if he ever made a video on the game though.
A little backstory for that thumbnail at 25:09 I made those VenturianTales models back in 2013 (when I was 13) as part of my hobby as a "vignette" creator which is pretty much something that has to do with you posing characters to make them look like an art-piece or a still image. I always set my models to "On-Sale (Free)" so that people can take them and view them in their game. I never intended this to be used in the way that Undead Nation did which is to just place my models in the game and use them as an audience bait (considering VenturianTales was pretty viral back then). The model was created as a tribute to the aforementioned RU-vid channel because I used to watch them. However, I did not expect them to get so much takes (or sales), that reached up to 10,000+. One day I was surprised to see a game "Undead Nation" in the front page using a familiar thumbnail (which used MY models. There were extra characters in the background like Steve, The Dovahkiin, etc. but they were removed). The models were never transformed in anyway shape or form. The model can be viewed here (paste it besides the default roblox domain) library/125704050/VenturianTale-Promotion-CONTEST-FINISHED I messaged ninjaxrasx about it back in 2014 and he did say that he felt bad for not giving me credit. We had a back-and-forth and I offered to make a vignette for his game because I never took offense to him stealing my model. On the contrary, I was happy that someone actually liked it. The message log can be viewed here: imgur/3xbHPTb(DOT)png . The link to the vignette I created for him is here library/157800840/for-ninjaxrasx Honestly, this video popping up gave me such a great feeling of nostalgia. I never expected anyone to create a video essay of this game considering it was one of those basic scenario zombie games. And considering what they did with my model, I wasn't surprised when I found out the game was stolen as well.
@@abaddon5420 the proofs are there. The model was shown as updated in 2021 because I updated the description of the model. How would you think I was able to get those models from the thumbnail of the game alone?
Kinda wish Nano Infection somehow got popular first, that’d have been amazing to see. Definitely gonna check it out to see how “different” it is and what the true story actually is, hopefully he works on it to completion , but I doubt it since it’s been years, that game genre isn’t so popular anymore, and he probably has more important things to do. Such a disappointing history
Chapter 8 used to be 11 waves before Exeplex updated it and I’m pretty sure it’s every 4 waves we get reinforcements. Also the new information was very informing. Nice video Bread Bed
I also remember that bug where the zombies on the chapter 8 ambush would get stuck and the game just kept piling more zombies on top to the point where 30-50 zombies would all simultaneously rush you, it was hella chaotic
Its kinda hard to believe that it was somewhat stolen undead nation has a special place in my heart and it feels weird to figure out it was stolen i find it horrible but it still has a good place in my heart
I was not expected to see this on my recommended. and i had spent years trying to find undead nation again (or maybe it was nano infection i don't remember) needless to say. Thanks bread.
Hey man thanks a lot for taking the time to make this video, it was an insanely huge part of my childhood. I remember playing this when I was like 8 and it was the first roblox game I ever played and probably one of the first video games I ever played at all. Every one in a while I get distant memories of playing this game by myself on school nights on my moms laptop and being carried by people who had developed basic motor function and actually knew how to play the game. Anyways as dumb as it sounds this video helped me tie up some loose ends and really let me enjoy all the thoughts of this game having remembered a lot better with this video Thanks man 😁
I find it funny how by your voice alone (I promise I'm straight) we can clearly tell how much you aren't enjoying the game it's sad but true that we're mostly blinded by nostalgia with these type of games thinking they're good but in reality they really weren't
You won't be forgiven for this, Breadian. The ROBLOX game, Undead Nation, may be fiction, but due to your ignorance it will soon be a non-fictional historic event. In due time, you better prepare yourself, as you won't be able to buy gamepasses or switch to Nano Infection baby mode difficulty when it happens. Sincerely, Dr. Xolbor.
@@Breadian You jest, but I know you aren't prepared for the Troll Zombie which has been dispatched to your current location, said Troll Zombie achieved a black belt in El Dojo De Brando, and has been armed with weapons of his choosing. Lets see if you truly are a Breadian.
The evidence makes it clear. I feel really disappointed, especially as it's not the first time my childhood roblox game turns out to be stolen. It really annoys me to this day how such people never suffered any consequences for stealing other's hard work.
I remember a zombie survival game that was also a build to survive that I spent sooooo much time in. Each wave got harder, so you wanted a fresh server to play. You killed enemies for money to buy weapons, but the best part was how you could use the simple tools to build before each wave. It was a huge white room. I remember my friend and I doing a trick to make a box that wasn’t snapped to the ground that you could push it, from the inside, reeeeally fast like a car. We’d run up to enemies, be invincible because of the box, kill the enemy, and move on to the next one. That’s just a weird Roblox memory I have burned into my brain. Lol
....The only thing that cheers me up about this is remembering how I solo'd Xolbor back when that chapter first came after my team all died at the very start...god that took like an hour but the rush was real.
I realized how poorly this game aged the last time I played (which was when chapter 14 finally came out) Edit: I just finished the video, and my god, the truth behind the first half of UN is extremely surprising. An apology from Exeplex/Syntabyte is long overdue (also I didn't know that chapter 6 was originally much much more interesting compared to the more popular and more gutted version of it)
I vaguely remember the "stolen game" message back around 2012 or 2013, as it affected the game for a few days and basically made it unplayable because everything got broken.
Although this isnt ok in the slightest in terms of plagiarism, undead nation certainly brought people together to notice Nano infection, I didnt know it even existed until someone mentioned it. So i guess undead nation was good for something in a way.
This is crazy to me, because Undead Nation IS my favorite Roblox game. And to figure out that it STOLE is crazy... I remember playing "Undead Nation" a while back but I just didn't know it... Now that I discover that the game I played all those years ago was infact Nano Infection just hits hard...
I fucking loved Undead Nation so much, it's the one game I would always go back to when I cared about roblox, even in 2020 when it had like 2 players on at most
(Edit : Apparently "Radiation Zero" is an entirely different game from Undead Nation or Call of the Quarantine but similiar and was made around the same time by Exeplex) The original Call of The Quarantine (Or Radiation Zero) game I think, although having the same style and mechanics, had a very different story and map. The first chapter was based in an entirely new map with bricks instead of terrain, even the lobby was. Gets me curious as to what had happened to Exeplex's original plan for Undead Nation and the original assets he used. There was a probability that Undead Nation could have been an entirely different game from Nano, or at least its storyline from what we know of it today. Anyways, nice vid lol
Hey!, It's me Again. There actually was another gamemode, Survival, It had a completely different thing, Loadouts. Those Two Maps in The later Chapters? They were used in a Temporary Survival Mode. Also The Marines used to actually be EXTREMELY HELPFUL, Their Bullets used to basically aimbot their way to killing zombies
I recall ever old zombie game mentioned, zombie tower had some really creepy models compared to most games, it stood out for that, also contamination was hard to complete, you had one chance per round, many things were insta kills or did lot of damage, and the old robloz physics would end an run eventually. Undead Nation was one of the best of it's time if i'm honest, i remenber being hooked up for chapter 9's eventual release, and this video somehow unlocked the memory of nano infection, which explains why i remenbered chapter 6 being harder, also the shading being different, can't put an finger on what exactly. If i played both, i might know why i remenber undead nation: it had more chapters, so the storyline was more completed
This is absolutely insane that this game was stolen I’m glad your bringing light on a situation like this because it’s so fuckin crazy how dormant this issue was as I never knew as many others growing up from a child to an adult until watching this video and looking back at it in those early years of Roblox I now realize how many games I played that were also copy and pasted like those Area 51 underground base games where all they would do different is swap the horror villian who would roam the base. Also the music for undead nation is just a trip down nostalgic lane for Roblox as a whole
Seeing you go over all these old games I used to play really brings something back, and I can't wait for you to cover more games! I remember there was a horror game that got hella copied I swear, it was something being in a hotel or whatever and I remember a giant mouth pops out of one of the doors or is in a room or something. Would love to see something about that one!
maan call of robloxian?? starbattles zombie games?? zombie tower?? oh man... as a 2013 player who played as a guest back in 2012, i loved those games so much, i dont remember playing undead nation as much as the others but i really loved old zombie cod ripoffs in roblox, they were absolute massive amounts of fun
you should do a video on march of the dead (hopefully all of the versions, the game changed a LOT. it'll be interesting to see how it evolved) its similar to undead nation and it has quite the history. i think its worth atleast playing
I heard about how the game was stolen through discord, someone sent a link to the original. It hit hard. I will say though the creator of Nano Infection added the real chapters 6 and 7 and they are very good, the game really is worth playing just for the last 2 chapters. I mean, the rest of the game is still fun tho.
Unbelievable! I remember playing this game all the time in around 2012 - 2013, it was called 'call of the quarantine' or something like that i think, and I remember begging the 'creator' ninjaxrasx for admin constantly ahahaha
man, I've always pronounced "XOLBOR" as "ECKZOLEBURR" so hearing it as "zolbur" sounds funny, like I just learned how to pronounce a word after mispronouncing it for 6 years
Ambatukam!!! Also it’s nice that we were able to pull it off and reveal the evidence. back then you can fully steal a game, even with their server script. Now that roblox has upgraded, it kinda made it hard to steal an entire game with their functioning scripts.
i thought he would be talking about the game where you hide in a house and fend off from zombies and if yyou go outside you slowly turn into a zombie unless you get back in
Im shocked at this information, that game took hours of my life and it was a stolen place.. It's funny that nowadays I suffer with the same thing, tried out participating UGC and some bigger creator steals the asset and reuploads it with a few changes while getting more attention.
even though i've found this just now, and i haven't watched this fully, i'm so happy to see my favorite roblox game back in the day mentioned as a kid i used to grind undead nation nonstop, and i'm just so happy to see this get brought back to light! even if it wasn't the real game, i still love the games nontheless!
My first time playing Undead Nation, ironically, was a stolen version of that game called "New Zombies." a copy of a copy.. I legit forgot about this game for so long though, I used to find crazy progression skips all the time and just do wacky stuff out of bounds, shame that it ended up being someone elses game.
context for the third thumbnail over at 25:10 the people shown here were pretty much from venturiantale, who were popular back in like 2013/2014 they were known for playing gmod along with Roblox during that time period. (which might explain why the person on the right (immortal kyodai) has a gravity gun)
does anyone know what game was stolen at 25:05? i swear i played many games like that before and even seen kits on studio's free models that allowed you to make your own version, makes me wonder which one was the og
Apocalyptia, anything from Datine, and Zombie tower were some of my favorite games to play. I wish I could pick apart the games now to see how they used to work, since most of them are broken.
well shit, no wonder why undead nation looked and played so... off, Sucks that undead nation was basically built off of the back of someone else, That really must suck.
I used to play this game all the time and never got past chapter 12. I remember when Exeplex joined my game once and he literally just ignored my questions about the game.
chapter 8 originally had like 12 waves, assuming from my memories, but got toned down to 8 and i never knew till weeks later, im sure this specific chapter used to be a grinding point for money and XP from what i can tell from my girlfriends story
ive been looking for a game that was like l4d but with just regular zombies and they had the roblox made clown face its so hard to describe but I had so much fun on it back in 2013 edit: also undead nation was so fun to play, very disappointed to see it with zero players.
Fun fact: for a short time CoderQwerty uncopylocked Contamination's sequel Outbreak, then recopylocked it for some reason. I still have a nearly intact copy of Outbreak from that era but never did anything with it
