A pro-tip for making long expansions of cables and pipes is to add a Valve and Power Switch at the ends. They don't cost extra, and if you have some kind of catastrophe they can save a lot of resources.

OMG. Why am I so dumb that I didn't think of that? I would just demolish and rebuild. It's especially painful now as I'm playing a map with almost no water and frequent dust storms that both shut off my vaporators and cause my pipes to leak. The residents of my colony remain blissfully unaware of all the alternate worlds where everyone asphyxiated from lack of oxygen or died of dehydration.

Remember, batteries are bombs! They should be spaced apart and not by anything important. And since you have meteors and dust devils, you really need multiple piping/cabling with switches in them (As other have pointed out.)

With regards to the sanity and night shifts, I absolutely loved after's and night shifts, I felt energised ,it felt like I had more time to do stuff and relax. I am a natural night person though.

I figure if you don't find water with your starting scanning probes, just restart the map and try again; you've invested, what, 10 seconds into the map? It's not a big deal yet.

i was excited for new DLC for this game but unfortunately its buggy as hell right now. Every time i attempt to touch the asteroids i get glitched out and it eats drones. By eat i mean for some reason they get stuck unloading and if i dismantle the rocket they sit in a little ball of drones with all their controls greyed out. I spent so long trying to figure out wtf was going on that the autosaves eventually overwrote my last save before the rocket was purchased, so now i gotta start over. Really frustrating

I loved the original, and I'm hoping the delay is them learning the lesson from CD Projekt Red's disastrous cyberpunk launch. We've waited 17 years for a sequel, I'm happy to wait longer for a finished product.

Leap forwards is kinda OP if you get it early on, I had 60 or 80% discount on it's tech tree and had it researched by Sol 12

@@MarsStarcruiser most if not all of my anomalies where tech discounts and i then beggared myself importing the stuff to build it by about sol 75, it was an odd run that I abandoned, it just didn't feel right, like it was bugged

I do as well. If I need a Cloning spire, I can always build a basic dome. I like that the barrel dome has 8 wedges instead of 6 wedges to start a game as well as two tiny wedges useful for parks, the pond and garden, or a nursery and playground. You can demolish a park without decommission protocol. I need those big wedges for housing, a school, and a large machinery parts factory. Two barrel domes are sufficient to run a solid small Martian base when you control your population by filtering the domes to NO BABIES. Usually one dome gets the school and the other get the university...

@@ronclark9724 I run single barrel into fast medium personally. I usually prioritize school spire asap over regular school but thats an expense I can’t always account for early on and not worth placing in a small ever. But barrel has most of the space needed for self sufficiency and more importantly, just enough leeway to encourage expansion, small domes which provide for too equal a service to pop ratio that tends to be too homeostatic.

Yeah, seeing this be a second map seems so 'cheap'. I was hoping the underground meant terrain deformation and tunneling. Maybe they just made it as a proof of concept for a "Surviving Mars 2."

Politician is actually a very strong Commander Profile. I asked on the subReddit, and was told that almost *everything* counts as Funding, meaning that the 20% bonus applies to almost everything. The revealed Tech is not very attractive, though. That I agree with.

If it is an extreme Brrexit run you shouldn’t build any transport units or extra rockets. You can’t build grocery stores in your domes (or if you do you aren’t allowed to stock them with food) and your medical facilities have a 1 in 5 chance of being unable to treat someone because they don’t have the required supplies and you don’t have access to colonists under 50.

I can see why but I honestly getting annoyed at the reviews. Played it myself and had a blast. Just wish they’d rework the mysteries to work in conjunction with the new content or even give is a multi-mystery feature

I started to watch but, after .25 seconds when I saw your face I instantly had to vote down and stop the play. I am not a fan of folk plopping their faces up, irrespective of age/country or whatever. It just smacks of desperation.
