Daddy of all road-trips in North America, conquering the Dempster Highway? The Dempster Highway is the only road in North America that passes through the Arctic Circle and travels northwards for about 860km into Tuktoyaktuk where you can touch the Arctic Ocean. The harsh gravel road offers stunning scenery, passing through vast wilderness, permafrost landscapes, and crossing several rivers and mountain ranges, including the Richardson Mountains. Both summer and winter bring their own challenges.

Your video made my heart so happy. I recently lost my dad as well. My deepest condolences on your loss. As an old man of 55 who has less life in front of me than behind, it gives me great hope that a young man would strike out on his own to have an adventure. I see so many young, unmarried people with no real obligations who are afraid to do something like this. Your journey was a quest that you succeed in. I hope you have many more to come. Go see amazing and even ordinary things! Live life to the fullest! I know I'm just some random commenter on RU-vid and this may not mean much but I'm going to type it anyway; I'm very proud of you. Your dad would be as well.

Great video, great fun, or so. it seems. I understand why you did not take an internal combustion generator, but I would have expected you to take about 1 kW worth of solar panels, so electronics, external power banks, &c., could be simultaneously charged while your EV was charging from the grid. Did you do that and just not tell us? I was very interested in your clearing the ground fault by piping the electrons through one of your power banks. Will you tell us exactly what sort of power banks you had, including model numbers? I might have more adapters than you, but I have not driven to the Arctic Ocean. Did you use a dashboard holder for the videos while driving, or did your companion serve as a steadicam?

Hitting the undercarriage on a porthole/rock risks potential battery damage, possible shut down. I suggest you only use "very low" ride height on good paved roads. I know, because I worked at Tesla service remanufacturing, saw the inside guts, results of many road damaged batteries. The low height is to get optimum aerodynamic efficiency at higher speeds. Your low speed on those gravel roads, aerodynamic of the vehicle body design was good enough. Your first charging fault might have been an outlet without proper grounding, or inconsistent quality line voltage/amperage. Especially because you stated their power was from a generator, which sometimes is not as stable as a grid service. Now you now know, add a few more power cable adapters to the frunk before the next eoad trip. What tires made that expedition? Without a flat or rim damage? Nice. Future, maybe Tesla adds a few supercharger stations with Megapack support.
@EverydaySandro

I think that if you brought a generator and some extra fuel, that would be a solution to charging the Model X

Can I send you the adapters you need? Maybe some mail drop along your route? I have them in a kit I put together for long road trips. Your adventures should be sponsored by Tesla as proof that a TESLA can go anywhere. Still loving the Model Y and happy that you were the salesman that helped me at the Tigard, OR Tesla dealer.

7:33 Bummer, this plug is a NEMA 14-30 typically used for dryers that many people in America have in their garage!!! Charging at 240V 30A (24A nominal) would habeen four time faster than charging at 120V 15A (12A nominal) !!!

@@EverydaySandro Well over here it’s pretty standardised. There’s one small one for 16amps and a big one for 32amps. It’s the industrial plug, but also for camping - waterproof and cheap. The perfect plug and it gives you up to 22kWh. Or 17 for my model X. Great trip man.

A Tesla from California made this trip in 2017. Very few chargers, many welding plugs. Eagle Plains has a 14-30 plug per your picture. Notice the cracks on the windshield from stones. Would reduce speed and move over when other vehicles pass.

Tesla are not to be driven in the cold! Tesla cars had trouble in Chicago’s winters, would not charge right because it to cold! Better to get a GM or Ford EV, they work in the cold climates! They are designed in Detroit!😊 Tesla is years behind in everything compare to Kia, Hyundai, GM and Ford. GM SuperCruise and Intel’s Mobile Eye uses lydar technology, Tesla only found out about lydar this year!😂
