Baron, the minimap food markers switch to pineneedles when you select warmth gathering. So when you want to gather food you first have to switch to food in order to see the food. You were all the time looking at the food markers in the minimap, because u selected food. If you switch, the markers in the minimap will switch as well.

Hey baron, quick tip: Don't put your tiles where your ants will be moving (look at 1:35) Your tiles will slow down your ants and make it take longer for reinforcements to make it to the surface.

@ Biodegradable Food, eggs, anything. Anything that isn't a speed tiles will slow your ants down when they walk on it.

Yes indeed, ants do use pine needles to keep warm. Honey ants also have special hibernation tactics, by using their fat workers, they store liquid food in the nest.

They are polymorphis ants. That means ants that are in the same species instead of fighting for resources they would work together and even combine their kingdoms to make a greater threat
