I am so puzzled by the foolishness of people who think those of us that choose to be prepared are weird or crazy. We turned an unused bedroom into a "grocery store". We have built in shelving and three very strong shelving units. I have all of our home canned foods, dry bulk foods from Azure, and all store bought food in there. We have three upright freezers and a huge chest freezer filled to capacity at all times with venison, beef, chicken, pork, fish, vegetables and fruits. We had a whole house back up generator installed about five years ago so I have no concerns about having so much food in freezers. We live in Louisiana where the heat and humidity is horrible so this generator also secures that our central air conditioning is always available. We have a top of the line security system and we have the tools to protect our family. From my own experience, even though we live in a very rural community, we still have to be prepared for unwanted visitors. We actually had a very, very scary issue a few years ago but thankfully our security system made us aware the moment these men came onto our property. We live in a world that has become very uncertain, the rising prices on food, gas, and basically everything, is frightening. But I will continue to keep our home fully stocked with food, toiletries, pet supplies, and things we need to be fed, safe, and happy. Take care and keep being you.

I remember when you used to do videos on preparedness, and I’m glad you are doing it again. I am in Colorado too and always liked watching your videos, your recipes, your tips on holistic living and your artistic creativity. I am a very empathetic heavy person as well, always felt like we probably have a good deal in common. So glad I found your channel again! I don’t think it was showing up on my feed for a long time even though I have been subscribed for a quite a while, but that just means there is tons of new to me content. I prepare for harsh winters, possiblity of supplies being cut off. I work to be ready at all times. I live in Alaska for over 40 years anything and everything can happen from a flood, fire, bear tears your house apart , all supplies. 95% is barged in and that can be cut off without notice, basically name it. Being prepared is a good idea. What do I stock up on? I keep the basics on hand and make most everything from scratch due to members of the family becoming ill from processed foods. Wheat berries, organic flour, oats/groats, rice, powdered milk in buckets. Baking supplies, seasonings, salt in many forms. Pure cane sugar, honey ,molasses, real maple syrup. Only use water soluble oils which are nut oils like olive oil, peanut oil ect and keep those oils in a fridge so they do not go rancid. Nuts are kept in fridge or freezer. We can most everything that people purchase in commercial can goods. If it is in that store for sale I can make it myself and do😊

I live in Central FL, closer to the beach. We don’t have “regular” flooding issues in my particular area, but hurricanes are 100% my focus during the summertime. I prep for hurricanes and any life change (job loss, illness, etc.).

I am a devoted person to you all your videos you are so sweet and kind and as you say an open book. You make things you talk about so easy to understand. You are an amazing person,mother,and wife. I too agree about learning to use herbs for medicinal reasons. Our ancestors used them and you never heard much about cancer and dementia and all these other things going on now . I worked in the medical field many years and if you do not see the changes well open your eyes. So a serious heart condition and high blood pressure and I have decided to go more holistic. My cardiologist tells me all the time in a joking way that you should have been dead years ago what is it you are doing and we are very close and I tell him I listen to him and do half what he says and I do half what I do and he say's well keep it up because now your heart is perfectly healthy. So keep it coming Mountain Mama. One last thing I will miss the chickens and ducks. Bless you and your family on your journey and I will miss your video's until you get settled. In Michigan, we have to be able to handle any and all weather. It can change so quickly. And we joke that every time the wind blows, our power goes out. We had collectively 15 days with no power last year alone. We also got hit by a tornado (the house wasn't destroyed, thankfully). Also, living near an international border can be a little concerning. I'm sure the southern states can agree with that. Also, our roads are horrible, so needing new tires is a pretty common expense. I'm enjoying reading what everyone else has to say as well 😊

HEY TORY, SO WE LIVE IN CHERRY VALLEY CALIFORNIA. OUR COMMUNITY IS IN A FIRE ZONE🤦🏽‍♀️ IN 7 YEARS LIVING HERE, WE HAVE HAD TO VACATE 3 TIMES. OTHER THAN FOOD STORAGE ETC. WE HAVE OUR CARS PREPARED AND WE HAVE A GET OUT SYSTEM IN PLACE. ITS A VERY SCARY THING TO SEE FULL ON FIRE CLOSE TO YOUR HOME. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED THAT THE FIRES HAVE NOT TOUCHED OUR HOME. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Southern Minnesota (May- September) severe storms, think tornadoes, floods, winds and hail and the subsequent power outages 😮 North Central Florida (October-April) hurricane remnants ie: heavy rain, occasional tornadoes, winds and power outages - we have a generator at both our homes.

Big wrench to give your birds away. I have given up my rented land , which I had for 35 years, and moved as much as possible back home. So for the first time in 35Years I'm without any fowl. I'll be getting some point of lays when I get settled. Don't be hurt by the haters. Remember most folk are like me . We appreciate all you videos. Please do whatever is best for you. Hugs and more hugs as you are processing goodbyes to the birds 🥰 I somehow missed this video so I know it's been a few days. Here in our part of NC, it's preparing for hurricanes, tropical storms, long power outtages (11 days is my family's personal record😳) tornadoes and severe thunderstorms, flooding, drought, and the occasional winter storm. Things can go to either extreme here 😑 I'd love feedback from others on ways they've found to store preps in extreme humidity because that is a struggle. Whether you niche down or not, I'm here for the long haul. I've made a friend in you and just enjoy "hanging out" 😊 This was a gem of a video!

Awww I'm so glad you found a nice home for the ducks/chicks. I'm Montana. We prep for everything lol I've been doing this for 30 years though so my prep is pretty tuned in at this point. I like the long form chit chat! As far as the negative nancy comments I think if it's too much (I couldn't handle it if it was my channel) you could try turning them off. Everyone says to delete and block but i'd still read it before it was deleted so that wouldn't help me at all.

Love your videos and would enjoy seeing creative content also! Iowa, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and then heavy snow or ice storms. My husband doesn’t love my food prepping, but he works for a large tractor making company, and although he will not be laid off, they are cutting overtime. Im in Washington PNW I feel like biggest prepareness disaster wise that I still have yet to afford is a good Air Filter/Purifiers because EVERY summer we have a huge fire and air is so bad cant evn be outside for days we've been lucky so far but I know it will be coming.

I’m dying to bring my kids into my art but wow it’s so hard for me 🫣😂 Backtracking- Sending you so many hugs!! Tory, there are so many of us like-minded people so don't worry about those who think we are crazy. I've been a prepper for decades. My parents lived through the Great Depression and also WWII when people had little to nothing. They taught my sister and I how to garden and what we needed to do to take care of ourselves. My boyfriend made fun of me because I had almost 200 rolls of toilet paper but who dud ge call on when you couldn't find it in the stores. When we had the 2 years of deep freezes here in Texas I lived in an apartment complex. We went 2 weeks without water when pipes broke but I had more than enough stored up to make it through. I also had enough food to help out my neighbors and cook for those used to DoorDashing. Thankfully we didn't lose power but I would have been prepared if we had. Keep doing what you are doing and be proud of what you are doing to take care of your family. Love your videos.

Kansas- prepare for power outages due to storms/tornadoes. Learned last year only canned foods or foods that do not require cooking/electricity need priority. When its 100 degrees and you have no AC, you do not want to rely on foods that require fire/grilling or you get too overheated and no way to cool off. When I was in NJ, I was prepared more for snow

It's always hard to say goodbye to our furry and feathered friends whatever the circumstances might be. When we lived in CA earthquakes were our biggest concern. In CO it's snow, wind, and wildfires. We live in the Marshall Fire area. We were lucky, but others across the street from us were not. It's always great hearing what's on your mind. I'm so happy and excited for your family and your upcoming move. Stay safe! Kari

Love our RO system. Put it in when we built our house. We have a well that contains a lot of rust. I started following you last year when we started our preps. Learned a lot from you! You should never let your negative commenters affect you whatsoever. Every RU-vid channel that I subscribe to has the same problem that you occasionally have. I call them Schmucks Keyboard Warriors, because it's easy for them to hide behind a computer and make nasty comments about whatever subject. 99 percent of them would never make them comments face-to-face. Just don't even argue with them or debate them just if you can eliminate them and that's that. You deliver so much positivity on your channel then to change it or stop it. I agree with you there are too many negative people out there that keep post bad negative comments on these good youtube channels that are just trying to post positive videos i just say shame on them if they have no nice thing to say then they should be posting any comments at all
