I'm listening to Jimi everyday in 2023. There's just something about him, his voice, his personality. What a huge loss to the rock world but so great we can still hear his songs with Survivor, his personal CDs, recorded concerts and interviews. Absolutely the greatest singer. Nice range and also as I have read, perfect pitch. 🥰
He was such a great singer. He should have been a huge superstar. Your fans will never forget you. I hope your jamming in heaven with my hubby. RIP Jim.
He was needed his own chart topping hits in the 90s, during his solo career, but not just singing Survivor songs under the Survivor name. That's why he didn't become a big superstar!!!
I saw them live when they opened for REO Speedwagon in the 80's. It was a flawless performance by both bands, I remember the lead guitars truly energetic and into the songs, all of them! I saw many concerts, many I wished I could see again, but the tour with Survivor and REO together peaks as the greatest memory.
I remember being a teenager in the mid to late 1980s when their music was all over the airwaves. It was a great time to be alive then and listening to the music from greats such as Survivor, Reo Speedwagon, .38 special, etc.
As I've said formerly, Jimi and Jim were truly the enduring shining stars in this band. They are sorely missed! However, a HUGE SHOUTOUT to all the members who made Survivor what it was back in its 80's prime. Nothing better illustrates how vital ALL of a band's elements (bass, drums, bogs vocals...) are, as does this clip. In your day, Survivor, you were amazing--yes, even you, Frankie.
Eran muy buenos Amigos Jimi y Frankie, Siempre juntos hasta el final, pero sin Jimi nada es igual, que triste que se halla ido, seguiría deleitándonos con su Maravillosa Voz.
Such an iconic rock band in many ways of a league all to itself. I don't know if having so different performers such as guitarists or lead singers is a blessing or a curse for the band as individuals.. or even as a band as a whole.. but certainly Survivor has produced amazing material that many will enjoy for generations to come! Without a doubt Survivor has had a couple AMAZING lead vocalists and not not many bands have been able to pull off a switch of its front man and yet still as a whole be embraced by the majority of their fans. It's gotta be one hell of an experience to be such a talented and gifted lead singer that you are sought after by such well established bands and can truly propel these groups to new levels and then still be of such confidence that you can explore other endeavors!!.. never getting locked into one place. Most bands that survived the test of time for most part stick together.. REO for example.. I'm certain the music industry is a grueling business at time's! But when you got the talent you can go wherever your dreams wish to take you! Jimi sounded amazing here to me! And the passion expressed in this performance 30 years after the original... hard to believe he would be gone to the stars in just a few months after this! .. amazing singer! Amazing and iconic voice!
I'm sorry you couldn't find happiness without the drugs. You had an amazing gift and I thank you for sharing that part of you with me. I hope you are at peace Jimi.
I doubt that he was using drugs at 63 years old. He loved his life and his family. People can have a cardiac arrest without being on drugs you know!! RIP Jimi❤
Wow still listening Jimi and Frankie really admired eachother look so happy soon after he would be gone but not his music what a great smile thankyou for all the awesome memories of my youth thankgoodness for you tube✌😀😊🎤😙
@@crystalfreeman9295 could "of" been???? what the fuck is wrong with you???? It was a stroke with "acute methamphetamine intoxication contributing." When are these idiots going to understand that it is COULD HAVE, not could "of"???????????????????????????????????????
@@jvidalw who are you talking to. I don't like your cursing words. Don't commit that word back to me. If that is how you express your self. Don't commit back to me.
There will never be a talent as great and truly moving as jimmi jamison..just a wonderful performer and a great soul..he truly left his mark in this world
Now. How on earth do 26 people manage to dislike this video? Jimi Jameson is an all-time great vocalist. and this song is extremely difficult to sing. Especially when it's not falsetto or soprano. It's pushing his voice to the limits. So, I guess some people listened to the guitar solo and got bored quickly.
I’m so glad I got to see them live in May of 1985. They opened for Bryan Adams at the Omni in Atlanta and this song was one of their huge hits at the time. They were all over the radio that Summer. 🙂
Look up the late/great Jimi Jamison singing lead vocals for an early 80s metal rocker band called "Cobra", on the song "Midnight Machine" (Live). ... You won't believe it's the same human !!
doesn't it seem like Frankie S. is just ...not all there on this clip?? This intro goes on waaay too long, and it seems really odd how he stops playing repeatedly to try to get the crowd to clap..really weird..sounds like his speech is a bit slurred...wonder if he was loaded..
Te imvito a q vayas a mi canal y veas mis videos solo decicado a mi amor jimi y a survivor porsupuesto . Saludos
Frankie is a hot guitar player and also not too hard on the eyes either. Was really a cutie back In their younger days. Bickler is also handsome and Jimi Jamison all the band were talented and handsome. I wished that we never had to grow old. ❤
This is like watching a train wreck. Absolutely horrible guitar playing by someone who appears to be out of their mind. It’s beyond embarrassing, the stopping, the clapping, the sloppy guitar playing, the eye makeup.Frankie needs help, Jimi on the other hand had a monster voice. It’s very clear to me that Jim Peterik was the brains and musical talent that guided this band.
I agree Frankie sounds pretty...tired. And Jimi's voice wasn't quite what it once was... (but who is at 63 what they were at 30?!)... but truly his vocals and Jim P. at the keyboards were the shining stars in this band! That said, however, Survivor in the mid 80's was amazing--and that was in no little part either to the rest of the band (even Frankie) then. Nothing can better illustrate how even the seemingly "smallest" elements of a band (bass, drums, background vocals...OMG!) can make or break a performance like this clip. HUGE shout out to ALL those members that made Survivor what it was in its day. We miss you, Jimi, rockin' in heaven, and, Jim, wisely rocking elsewhere on this earth!
Franke is such an embarassment to Survivor. It's clear that he always wanted to be a guitar hero, without ever having the talent for it. He has always wanted the spotlight, and doen thise insanely long guitar solos, which he doens't have th chops to do. And now, when the alcohol and drug abuse has gottent to him, therte is nohting left for him to offer...
What a waste of time listening to the guitar solo plus he was screwing up big time ! He is definitely messed up on something. No doubt ! Get to the damn song already !!! Whew !!! Thank you Jimi ! I thought I was going to flip for a minute ! Everyone was probably ready to punch his lights out !!!
Frankie is a knob, the band is nothing without Jimi or Dave or the other guys. The band is done now, Frankie needs his was beat to smarten up. Can't get along with anyone can he lol
I can't remember the name of this zombie playing the red Strat but he's fucking amazing. And Jimi? Right up there with Steve Perry--and for much longer, too.
I think what I love most about survivor is that jimi and Dave never really had conflict or was like "this is my band not yours". They all seem like great guys
