For wankers living in their moms basement. Sold out shows across the country for over a decade? Check. Every living musician worth a damn lining up to play with him and Susan? Check. Making music with his wife, his family and his best friends, in his own home studio, and getting paid to do it? Check, check, check. I don't know Derek personally, but i feel I could bet a fair bit of beer that he's got what he wants, and the rest is just worthless fluff.
@@bobf5360 Very well said. I think what OP meant is that Derek Trucks should be a household name and he's not. Blues fans know him and great musicians know him, but can't tell you how many people I've mentioned TTB, Susan and Derek to and been met with blank stares. You say the names Hendricks, Clapton or BB King and even non-rock/blues fans know who they are. Its amazing that he's not known at that level because he's that great. All that said, I totally agree that he has everything he really wants. Its just us fans who think that he should be regarded with the same reverence as other all-time great guitar players.
@@jasonamato2153 thats a great point, and I'm sure thats the OPs point. I would say though, that there are a lot of artists that could fall into that category (eg, Charlie Hunter), and to some extent, I as an appreciator of their work, am glad the average person does not know them, because it means i can still get to see them play live for less than $500/ticket. ;-)
I live exactly two miles down the road from Derek & Susan in Florida. I absolutely love watching them both play. There is so much love and passion for each other between the two of them, and you can truly see it in the way that they perform together. Truly a wonderful family!
Just amazing!! I love how Derek had a huge grin while Susan was ripping her solo, and then she was all smiles during his solo. I'd love to see more of this band, thanks for the share.
They're ok. I really want to like them more, but their stuff all sounds so similar and is just mediocre... despite being a band full of amazing artists.

One of my all time favorite songs. I have a whole category for this song on RU-vid. First heard this in the mid 70's done by Barbara Keith. Excellent version!
This is so good, you can hear the Jimi version in both Derek and Susan's solos, but you can also hear some influence from "Stairway to Heaven" and "Why Does Love Got to Be so Sad" in Derek's (in addition to his own inimitable genius)
Thanks for posting. With every vid, song, I etc. I watch I become more convinced that Derek Trucks is probably the best living musician in any genre. Watch one of the vids w/ him and BB King....King played with EVERYBODY and clearly has his mind blown every time he played with Derek Tricks.
I love how Susan just looks like some regular lady from the library desk, then rocks the heck out of it and is a consummate musician and singer. No one else quite like her. And married to Derek, what a combination. I have loved them every time I’ve heard them play.
Hey now as I look at Susan I just don’t get the visual of this woman dressed in a little house on the prairie outfit rocking the house but then she rips this solo just amazing and of course Derek always smokes, I wonder how these two got together maybe at a jam session ? Love Susan Tedeshci, amazing voice that can howl and play guitar 🎸. She still sounds awesome. Love Dave also... man wish i could have been at this show.

Just saw an interview w/Derek where he said at their Beacon Theater shows last year they played 100 different songs over 6 nights. So if it wasn't on their list before, it probably will be now. But good luck catching it!
I haven't even heard it yet and just the anticipation of Derek ripping to this song is awesome. I wish I was there for this one, it would have been one for the memory bank. PS. I hope this gets pro released with post production work. That would be awesome. This seems like a great one.

I swear I heard LZ's Stairway riff on Derek's solo and throughout the ending of the song. Starting around 3:45. Is it just me? Don't get me wrong love it.
