I'm a janitor, I clean toilets for a living. Donut Operator's videos are my only joy in life. Edit to add: Wow. I didn't expect to get this many responses. Thank you everyone for your kind words. For those of you saying I should join the military, I'm in my 40s, Uncle Sam doesn't want old goats like me who can't follow orders.
My first car was a '74 Ventura with a WAY too big engine in it for a 16 year old. Absolutely loved that car. To see anyone treating a classic muscle car like this is a travesty. Hope the car can be repaired and given to someone who will treat it with respect.
I. Australian and agree with you about that gorgeous car, not one we really see here but lovely anyway. Here, young drivers are limited to a certain hp engine until they are more experienced with driving. Also in Victoria, you cannot get your car license until you are 18. I personally (having worked for the police here) think that 16 is way too young. Boys are idiots as it is at 18, I dread to think how bad it would be here if they could get on the road at 16. It’s a frightening thought.
The fact Donut said "listening to my best friend running for congress" as well as Brandon talking about Donut actively bullying Tony on Twitter gives me wholesome vibes. Don't ever change Donut ❤
@DONUT OPERATOR !!! A cop in my town shot a guy armed with BEAR MACE AND A KNIFE and the officer actually shot the cannister of bear spray!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_6U4aeotrm8.htmlsi=bjl42UE40riNYGK6 PLEASE COVER THIS
The lead officer obviously in charge there, tried extremely hard to save that man's life. Pushing for the tazer many times and communicating well with 911, dispatch, peers, and perp. Gotta respect that kind of clear, level thinking and actions. 💯
First comment I've seen praising those officers. Man, that was maybe the most coordinated and level-headed handling of a dangerous situation I've seen from a police force.
Obviously not every encounter with armed suspects can go that "calmly" and organized but it's clear that unit has run drills and practiced this, giving the suspect every chance at life. Respect.
DM: "Oh...kaaaaay, your piloting lore check succeeds. You do critical damage to the police car. They spend their actions to get out of their cruisers and draw weapons. Your turn. Suspect: I draw my +1 dagger and get out. DM: That's fine, but since your car is parked on another car, you will have those first steps considered difficult terrain. Roll acrobatics if you want to move full speed- Suspect: Damn, nat one.
I'm impressed with the restraint from the Arlington PD. They vocally deescalated each other when in foot pursuit and tried to used less than lethal tactics constantly. Hats off.
im sure with the right doctor both could be made well again, maybe not perfect, but still those poor cars, (although i did total my moms Merc Grand Marquis so im not so innocent myself - i miss that car)
Arlington PD seriously had the scene controlled and gave suicide stabby guy every chance to live. The taser followed by attempting to save his life was extremely well co-ordinated. Props for the effort and the on scene commander for preparing to do everything possible to save his life.
Funny thing is the only people hurting anyone that day were the police. Going by that standard the wrong guy died. The chased him down and ended him. Why even have laws? They dont mean anything when so called "law enforcement" shows up
That has been about the best use of force yet by police, it was not over kill and well strategized. They did not just mag dump him and actually tried to take him into custody. Very different then we have been used to seeing. I often wonder though, where is the hand to hand combat training, because i have been trained to disarm a person coming at me with a knife. I used to practice this type of situation 3 times a week. Running at me with a knife would end up with a hip toss and arm restraint with worse case being a torn dislocated shoulder to the subject by chicken wing. He would defiantly be dropping the knife. I just wonder why this type of training is not implemented as it is well documented in other parts of the world to work. I wonder if it is because of Policing while Afraid.
wow. I have never seen a more professional police response than in that second video. THAT should be the the training video for every police precinct nationwide on how to do shit RIGHT. Incredible coordination and communication.
Not really they let him get away from the scene too many times if it was a different environment he could have found people. If you need to neutralize the threat on the spot when he rushes you then you should.
I was thinking the exact opposite. They let him get way too close to officers, relying on a taser which was pretty ineffective. This one could have gone south really quick.
He was actually a very considerate guy. He knew that he was going to die, but wanted to save the undertaker the trouble of dressing him for the casket, hence the reason for not bothering with putting on shoes.
@@superperior idk if that's the hill to die on here brother lmfao. Donut said ambush but my suspicion is that it's a suicide by cop, why would you ambush with a knife after calling in something that's clearly going to have you entirely out numbered, no way it was an ambush. "you know what to do".
I thought, dang he’s being a great team member. He’s loud and clear with his communication, and got the taser on the guy without having to Swiss cheese him, and still giving the man all the chances he could to keep his life.
His choices were made that day! You don't know all of 'em, but you know he chose sandals and a suite, and if that doesn't say enough, I don't know what will. . .
I love your videos I was a 911 dispatcher way back when directions were “turn left where the white horse is standing in the pasture” also was in EMS for 20 yrs.
I remember those times. I always got a laugh from the look on the newbies faces when the directions were "turn left at Farmer Smith's barn", but the barn hadn't been there for 30 years. That's how you know when you're getting old - you give directions by something that's not there any longer.
The officers in the second clip displayed amazing control of the situation. They could have mag dumped him at any time after he ran at them, but the officers were persistent in trying to get him to stop with non-lethal. As well as this, they demonstrated great officer-to-suspect and officer-to-officer communication and trigger/muzzle discipline. An excellent video to show those who think the police don't try and deescalate and just shoot people for "no reason" or "because they're black".
These realities remind us how important it is to continue supporting our police force. They are always in the front line dealing with these dangerous encounters.
Yeah, shooting an unarmed guy is really dangerous. Sure, the guy is an idiot, and prob high. Does that warrant a death sentence, right on the spot? Nah, kinda doesnt.
@@incognito3402 He was armed with a knife and charged them. Are the cops supposed to let him stab them? To make it fair? Go back inside, outside is too tough for you today
@@connorantic It seems its too tough for you, youd just go out and start blasting, it seems, anyone that might look like a threat. And, yes, police should let him at least attempt an attack, if its a knife situation. Gun is obviously different. Police has so much leeway. First, they are many, he is one. If he charges you specifically, an officer covering you can shoot. Secondly, he has a pocket knife. Youd be hard pressed to do any real damage with it. They are all armed and ready to go. Lastly, police has their pay adjusted for risk, if they take away the risk by just blasting thru every single situation that carries any, then the pay isnt justified. They get all kinds of benefits because of the risk, if you cant accept the risk of a pocket knife, dont be a cop.
@@incognito3402you have to be joking they gave him multiple chances to drop the knife and he still attempted to charge at them even after falling over Also any knife can easily kill a person depending on where its stabbed like the neck but regardless no officer should have to get seriously injured just to potentially save an uncooperative suspect
Who in the world could treat a beautiful 1970 Ventura like that!? The condition that car was in was pristine! Throwing all of that away like that. Ugh, people do not appreciate the good things they have.
would you be referring to the walk-in freezer, the bedroom after a fun time with a crazy ex-girlfriend, or the kitchen while making 5 alarm chili? The freezer would be sub-zero!
i had front row seats to the Arlington one trying to drop my girl off at home. Rounded the corner of the parking lot just as the shot went off and immediately backed up next to the dumpster. Shit was wild. Telling you, things got worse out here after they decided to demolish all the buildings over there to build the AT&T Stadium and the new rangers stadium. and caused the crackheads to scatter like roaches all over the city.
@@ChuckHuffmaster I apologize for the wall of text beforehand lol than you might remember all those run down hotels that used to be every other block or so between Road to 6 Flags, Randol Mill and Abrams street. I moved here back in '02 and it was always like that. They were where the druggies and such would go. City thought demolishing many of them and trying to build it up like places in the rest of the metroplex would make it better. Aesthetically, it looks good, but the problem they were trying to get rid of just spread out more instead. On top of the regular problems it created with traffic being backed up on game days, coupled with the train going by making it even more of a nightmare. You know it's bad when traffic is backed up all the way down to your suburban neighborhood all the way up Browning. this is just something i have to share because it was so damn funny. I was working at Walmart, which is right across the street from the stadium. On the outer side of the stadium, facing the store is a massive screen for tailgaters to watch the game in the parking lot. It was facing the damn road, and Jerry Jones was forced to stop having it turned on because idiots on the road would get into accidents because they'd be watching the screen instead of watching the road. Watching 3 cars crash into each other because they were all watching the same thing was just too hilarious.
Crown Vic is a V8 with a giant body, one of the last of its kind. It’s also seen a really illustrious service in police departments. I think that’s pretty cool.
That was incredibly gracious of the Arlington Police to try and allow that man to keep his life despite repeatedly being not only a threat to life and great bodily harm to the officers, but also as a fleeing suspect who has committed a felony with a deadly weapon and represents an imminent danger to the public. He could have been mag dumped on the initial charge, he could have been mag dumped when he got back up with the knife in his hand, he could have been mag dumped at anytime when he was running away. I dont know if this paitence, poise, and mercy should be applauded. Everytime officers lawfully and properly use deadly force to neutralize a threat it can be compared to this incident and those like it. For example, the first video the suspecthad already used deadly force against the officers, then fell out of his car, charged officers with the knife and the imminent threat to life or great bodily harm was neutralized. Biased people see the second outcome and use it to criticize the first, saying the officers should have shot him once like the Arlington officers and see how he responded before firing again.
Yeah, and what do you know, he was black. And the guy in the first clip was... looks white. Weird. Almost as if race isn't a factor. (most of the time) Heck even in the first clip they didn't absolutely mag dump the guy, they definitely still had bullets left. Second one was clearly initially suicide by cop but clearly after getting hit once he realized "of fuck bullets hurt and maybe I don't want to die like that" so instead of just giving up he decides to run, then I guess decided to give it another go, got shot again and the gold fish brain realized once again "oh fuck bullets hurt and maybe I don't want to die like that," so he ran again... the fuck? Dude just got unlucky and tried suicide by cop vs a PD that actually has restraint when it comes to shooting "dangerous" suspects.
@@ShiningDarknes We also know that race isn't a factor in the use of deadly force statistically. Both races have deadly force used against them with just about the same frequency that they commit crimes. The observed year was 2018, chosen based on the year for which biased researchers made false assertions that black people were more than twice as likely to be shot by law enforcement than white people. The claim was black people represented 12 percent of the population but 25 percent of police shootings. That year black people committed 26 percent of crimes, and white people committed 55.5 percent of crimes and represented 54 percent of police shootings.
My first car was a 1973 Buick Apollo and I can testify that GM body style was *no* muscle car. They all had smog 350's. Barely 100HP from 350cid. One friend had a Chevy Nova with the sbc, another had a Pontiac with Pontiac engine. Mine was the Buick 350. All had low compression ratio. Only the sbc had ample access to speed parts, but bottom end was still stock.
They did great compared to some I’ve seen. I saw one where a dispatcher woman was arguing with the victim on the other line and then hung up on them. The victim died. And would you believe it, the dispatcher got fired! I’ll never understand why people with zero patience and zero empathy always become emergency dispatchers.
That is a tough job. Besides the responsibility, if you actually give a shit about people you’re gonna have to stay sane while all you hear all day is Fd up sheet.
@@CalmTFD that’s fair, my mind has just been so poisoned by the internet and tons of cases of dispatchers behaving like absolute degenerates and sociopaths.
maybe he will make duck noises for all of you when the gov comes to disarm all of you, funny how you bootlickers spew rhetoric about taking on the gov but at the same time cheer on the tyrants. lmfao @ U clowns!
Very commendable conduct from all officers involved in that foot pursuit of Mr. Business Casual: professional, quick thinking and acting, and showed great restraint.
Doughnut I just wanted to thank you and Brandon Herrera for the videos you guys shot for Scott after his...incident. I know it's been 2+ years already but still, super cool of you to do that.
hi donut, i know the chance you are reading this is very low but maybe you and your channel want to cover the knife attack in germany mannheim, where a young police officer died...that case should get some more attention worldwide...
I bought one from the police auction for $2000 around 20yrs ago, police package, pusher bars, rear posi was really cool till it got stolen, recovered but didn't want to pay impound so i guess it found it's way home
That second video had amazing teamwork and stepping down of force where able. Big fan for a while! Out of Greenville/ Charleston living in Chicago now.
I know the question everyone is thinking: Did his shoes match his belt? Maybe he thought he'd called the fashion police, and was angered when the real police showed up. What kind of cuff links go with a kitchen knife?
This is literally the one channel that videos never get recommended to me. I’ve been watching for years and not once had donut operators video popped up on my feed. I wonder why
To be fair, that one had been through the wringer. A clean Yojimbo has a brutalist charm to it. I carried a Shrill for years. Edit: and I carry a Minimalist every day
