Even if this suspect has "mental issues" she had the sense to try and get away with no regard to others lives or cars. She has to be tried with the full force of the law. Her licence should be suspended for life and she should be liable for all damages occurred
They SHOULD have surrounded her all at once!! this should have stopped when she was on the city streets in Santa Monica and even at 10:30 the evening earlier when she began her yelling and screaming and the neighbors were calling 911. The she rammed the police car and the guy on the phone telling 911... "are you get more officers here now?" OMG! It should have ended WAY before this crash!!!
Oh, you mean that policeman who was sworn to protect and serve his community is the one to let that lady run her van into that crowd of cars. He was the line of defense and he moved to let her go forward and hit all those cars. No ma’am, he was supposed to stop her. He moved all the way and let her hit those people.
@@stevethecheese safety. on surface streets they are deployable in certain situations, but nobody is going to try and throw a spike strip at a speeding vehicle on the 405. It's pretty rare that a suspect will intentionally drive head on into traffic. That woman is insane.
Looking at the entire video from the actual start of the chase, I think they had multiple chances to stop her. But went easy on her and let her slip away, multiple times. This chase should never have made it on to the highway.
She already ran down a cop and sent him to the hospital then she tried repeatedly to run down the police by running into their cars. All this before getting on the freeway. You only saw the ending.

Can we get some response from a police officer? Preferably an LA one? Are you restricted from direct intervention? I mean head on interception? There seemed to be several times when a low speed head on hit would have stopped this. I know some of the highway patrol have done such, It's risky, but this could have been much worse in the end.
They had the perfect opportunity to block her on any of the 3 pit maneuvers. They had 3 cars with push bars that could have easily blocked her , smh. Thank God no one was killed. Lots late to work 🤬🤬🤬
@@rebeccaskinner4236 most cops are not PIT certified. this wasnt chp. LA is spread out. at that early in the morning it may have been a challenge to find a PIT certified unit. this aint arkansas or ga or fla where they do this all day. not making excuses but any rando po po cant just PIT someone.
Rarely .. few would do this kind of crime.. Today we have many people going on meth benders, or have some death wish with the police.. I suspect over population has a lot to do it..
TV News helicopters were a new thing back then. One of the first ones was a helicopter filming a flood in LA in the 60s. Never really became a thing until the 80s.

Law enforcement had the perfect opportunity to stop her when there were 3 patrol cars next to her and they did a pit maneuver. Why didn’t they block her after they did the pit ? Other cars weren’t close and they had enough vehicles right next to her. I guess law enforcement’s hands are tied by ridiculous laws, smh. I’m glad they finally stopped her 👍👍
I love how the news broadcasters assume it’s a man. Sticking “his” arm out the window… It’s the United States, all men are guilty until proven innocent. Women are all innocent by default. Craziness.
