Suspect Thinks He Planned The Perfect Murder 

This is one of my favorite interrogations and even though it has been done before, I wanted to do it on my channel so I apologize to those that were looking forward to a newer interrogation. I promise I have great interrogations incoming *Quick Channel Update* This is the last video using my old equipment and I have some great stuff in the works. If you ever find yourself in an interrogation and they start telling you that they know you're a good person you are in some real hot water lol.

It’s so depressing, they sent their brilliant young daughter to a new country hoping she would achieve her potential, and yet her life was taken by some complete low-life maniac. Rest in Peace Ying Ying, and peace to her family as well 💔

I love how the detective starts off by saying “wow a masters in physics, you must be way smarter than me” and the stupid idiot goes “thanks”. Fell for it hook line and sinker.

“Why would I lie?” Infamous words from people that are lying

This happened in my town. The Chinese community were very supportive of Ying Ying’s family. They are a poor rural family. They flew them here, provided housing. Hired them a lawyer, fed them, etc. This was a terrible crime.

If 'being at home playing video games' is not a legitimate alibi, i really hope i am never falsely accused of murder lol 😆

So smart he spoke to the police without a lawyer after murdering someone. Genius

“Lonely on a Saturday..” brother, I been single now some 6 years. That’s a super, super sorry excuse to have hurt some random girl, you were lonely. I don’t care how long you’ve been lonely for, you don’t do that. You don’t hurt others. You just don’t hurt others. We all have problems in life, don’t add to it by hurting someone. They don’t need that pain, let it stop at yourself.

These detectives did a great job. Built rapport early, flattered his ego and then kept him talking whilst establishing a timeline in a non-threatening way prior to really challenging him.

To not tell where her body is or even pieces of her body is just wrong. Her poor family wanted to take her home to grieve.

"She was showing me a map on her phone, I put my hand between her thighs, and she just freaked out. Crazy lady, for sure." What a creep.

I was a student at University of Illinois when it happened and I was in a building right across the street where he picked her up on the same day. If he was driving another car, say a Toyota Corolla, there was no way the detectives could arrest him and/or build a case against him. And that's so scary! There were exactly TWO black Saturn Astra registered to Urbana-Champaign addresses. Even with that, they still had to use his wife to get a confession from him. And the confession came when they were attending a vigil that was organized by students for her.

"Wow. You're smarter than me." "Thanks." This man is so smart he doesn't know when he's being played.

Did he just say he's going to read the guy his rights because it was night time? What? 😂

I love how they always say "I don't think you're a bad person"...it makes me laugh every time

Breaks my heart. Why do people like this sicko have to exist? My heart goes out to her parents. She would have had a very bright future.

I think if a person tells a counselor that he’s thinking about killing people something should be done. Inform the police and/or make sure they get more counseling. Proactive steps could save lives

This detective was trying to appeal to this killer humanity when interrogating, not realizing that this killer only cared about his own self and no one else. No one else at all

Imagine your child going abroad, two weeks later she is dead. That is awful. My son is 17 and wants to travel whilst in uni. I'm so afraid of other people. He is sensible I just don't trust other people.

We all knew what he did, but when he mentioned her jeans that really told me exactly what he did. Normally you would either not remember what a person wore on a certain day, or you would remember something close to their face - like a hat, an accessory, or a shirt. The fact that he only recalled the jeans was so telling. No other piece of clothing mattered enough for him to remember, but the jeans he needed to take off of her. That’s why he remembers it, in my opinion. It’s quite creepy to think about that sentence in that light. I hope her body is found soon, and that her family can give her a proper burial. She can no longer go back hone the way everyone would want her to, but at least she can still go home this way. It would probably help her family and friends too… I hope they’re doing okay despite this tragedy and are healing well.

Wow I can't believe I can finally see this interrogation. I actually live in the same town that this happened in. And I remember when she went missing everyone was looking for her. I remember the news reports, and the missing posters on the bus, and her parents asking for people to please help find her. And for a while campus was on very high alert. This really had everyone on edge.

I love when they played him so hard when the detective say "you are smater that me". Having a PhD doesn't mean you are smart, you can get one if u are disciplined and hard working.

I don't know if saying "someone stole my car committed a gruesome murder and then returned it" is a great defense in court.

We are so fortunate that criminals THINK they are smarter than they are in actuality. If they were only smart enough to say, “ I want a lawyer “ many more crimes would go unsolved. Good thing for us that they are not smarter!

Recently found your channel and really enjoy it. It's been entertaining to find crimes I have seen but didn't get to see the interrogation.

I appreciate channels like these that play out the entire interrogations. The additional information regarding facts of the case that come out during trial and the end results are great additions. My only issue, and it's not solely Red Tree Crime, is the interjections regarding how an innocent person would react or how you can tell when someone is lying. People are complicated creatures and everyone is unique.

I realize cops sometimes try to mirandize someone without freaking them out and riling them up, but they couldn’t come up with a better explanation? “Ok since we’re in my office, and it’s…..late at night, I’m gonna mirandize you.” Yeah, makes perfect reason.

About 35 yrs. ago, I was interrogated by 2 detectives who were told that I may have had something to do with my friend's murder. I found it interesting how they ganged up on me just like these 2. One sits back, quiet, just watching, while the other bombards you with questions and then they pull the switcheroo. 2 against 1, very psychologically effective. Btw, I had nothing to do with my friends' murder. His wife had him shot 6 times by a couple of 17 yr. olds

As mentioned in the video, if this guy had just lawyered up straight away he probably could’ve/would’ve gotten away with it…. not that it’s a good thing just amazes me how dumb or overly arrogant these people are they think they can talk their way out of it with the interrogators

It always baffles me that these people don't tell the cops "if you got all this evidence and power to get whatever you need, charge me with something or let me go home" Followed up with "I want a lawyer" It doesn't matter why they're talking to you, always have a lawyer with you.

I have seen this one, but it's always nice to hear different commentary from different people.
