Yes there is, the off road version has a stronger stabilizing effect. The actual "stiffness" setting of the suspension pieces matter less. But don't take my word for it, experiment for yourself, that's part of the appeal of Scrap Mechanic.

It does work, this is simply a more compact stabiliser with the added benefit of having a stronger effect. In the "old" version, the bearing serves to separate the bodies so you could weld the suspension back to the main body. Since suspension pieces also separate bodies, it replaces the function of the bearing while at the same time by itself works as second stabiliser. Hope that makes sense!

You are absolutely right! I'm so used to the old method prior to the survival update where you couldn't drag blocks over suspension that it didn't occur to me to try it this way. Thanks for pointing it out!

Hi there, Do you mean welding both "halves" of the suspension stabiliser? My video is slightly outdated as the game does update periodically but you should still be able to weld them if you followed the instructions. The important bit is that the "halves" need to be separated by at least 2 bearings (or any joint for that matter, pistons and suspensions work too), such that there are at least 1 separate "body" between the "halves", i.e., 1st suspension half -> joint -> dummy block(s) -> joint -> 2nd suspension half. The recent updates shouldn't have broken this (I verified), the 1 major change is now joints are no longer highlighted in green. Also, as Mr Shambles pointed out in the comments, there is an easier way to construct the suspension halves that I hadn't realise was possible with the survival update, check it out.

It most certainly is possible. It's easier to do with the non "infinite", weaker version of the suspension stabiliser. My acrobatic car creation (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YFMF15BHrFw.html) has weak suspension stabilisers that only activate in the air. This makes jumps a lot more stable while not causing issues when driving on the ground. Toggleable, single-axis "infinite" stabiliser might be possible by using double-bearing motor clutches for locking/unlocking the suspension glitch.

Survival mode suspension glitches aren't as strong as creative mode ones.

Unfortunately, that does seem to happen sometimes, although in my experience it is pretty rare. It is fixable by editing the blueprint but it has been so long since I've last done it that I can't remember the exact steps that I took. If you don't mind waiting for a week or so, I can have a look at your creation and attempt to fix it. Just upload it to the Steam Workshop and post the link here. This might actually make a good video, so if you're alright with it, I might use your creation as an example.

Yes you can. There are generally 2 approaches. The more common method is to use stabilisers to "dampen" the motion of your flying machine so that it is easier to control. More often than not, suspension steering will be used in this case to make adjustments and control the flyer's pose (yaw, pitch, roll) in the air. If you're expecting your flyer to remain perfectly level using stabilisers, you will have to ensure that all lines of thrust (or the net of them) to go perfectly through the center-of-mass of your creation. Any thrust that deviates from this will cause your flyer to eventually lean. The second more complicated method is to use the stabiliser as a gyro and have sensors and logic detect which direction the flyer is leaning and correcting that.

It is a game exploit after all, but many have used it successfully without any issues. It sounds like you are actually able to load your blueprint, which is a different problem than what is common with stabiliser creations (joint error when trying to load). Perhaps you're using it in a very particular manner or have too many stabilisers?

@@danzenplays wow im impressed you awnserd me well thanks. and i do think your right as i needed to edit it because it was acting weired but it may have done this before if i just waited but it also could have ben because my update to it. But i did find a new way to do it its a bit bigger the yours but it dose work. But again thanks.

Yes it is, although the "strength" may vary depending on your physics level setting (survival has a different physics setting than creative as well).

That is most unfortunate, I do hope your world is still loadable. Personally, I've never had the game crash when using the glitch. I have experience a corrupted blueprint once, but managed to fix that with blueprint editing. Perhaps you could describe in detail what exactly it was that you were doing before the crash? That would help others and myself avoid the same mistake.

Yes it will, eventually. Rather than the "infinite stabilizers" some people call these, I personally prefer to think of them as rotational (moment) dampeners. You could put in more of these for greater effect. I have noticed that the effect is weaker now than it used to be, and as I had mentioned in the video, the effect is even weaker still in survival mode.
