What right does the lifeguard believe he has to even touch the guy’s camera, never mind delete his photos??? Absurd behaviour. If you believe the guy has committed any offences, call the police. It’s not your job to do anything else. Then he committed an act of theft and criminal damage, and even made the false claims that he has the right to do that!! Totally ridiculous.
When I was 14 years old, I got lost from my family when we were getting off the beach and out of the blue, comes this man, and wants to help me, and he takes me near the water, beach was not crowded because it was 7pm ish kinda getting dark, and he started touching me and other stuff, some people started running towards me and the dude just ran away. The people coming towards me were not at all coming to me, they actually forgot to pick up some stuff on the beach, so they never approached me, I think I was kinda lucky. I am glad this beach is protected by such amazing lifeguards, God bless your work, never stop, please.
Considering the hundreds of thousands of beachgoers who visit Bondi every Summer, the amount of sickos and weirdos is pretty small. The lifeguards do a great job keeping the beachgoers safe in and out of the water.
I remember when I was a little girl (like 8 years old) there was a man touching me underwater and pretending it was an accident. Even at that age not knowing it was on purpose I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about 20 years later. Thank god for Bondi lifeguards doing such an amazing job!! ❤
@@chuckh4077why are you even saying this? What makes you think she didnt? Also at 8, you wouldnt know how to tell your parent you have been touched inaproppriately …
I love how Australian life guards are so calm but still focused.I live in Australia and I really want to go to Bondi beach to meet all the life guards! I’ve watched this show for so long and LOVE it!!!
Even though they break the law themselves by deleting photos off cameras of someone taking photos on the beach. It is not against the law in Australia to take pictures of anyone in a public area with or without their permission. People need to understand this before they start spouting off without knowing the law. A person is not breaking the law by taking photos of any person in a public area.
@@urfavv.paypay Sorry but you are wrong, I also live in Australia, The law is if a person shows themselves in public without a top on or in a bikini; she is willing to show herself in public in a public place and she cannot stop anyone legally from taking her picture. She has every right to be on the beach but being in public there is no law that forbids anyone from taking the picture, even without her permission. The law is very specific about this and contrary to what many people think, it is not the case. The law is different regarding private property of course. I have been in law in Australia for a long time and I am fully aware of the legal aspect of this particular law. If a woman wants to walk about in public without her top on she cannot Legally stop anyone from taking her picture. Personally though I cannot understand why anyone would want to take such a picture.
@@johnrobinson1020 uh ok you think what you wanna think, but if you were laying at the beach in a bikini and someone you don’t know comes up to you and takes photos you would you say it’s ok? And without their permission they can get arrested and if they’ve asked them to delete it and they don’t they would probably get a fee. I’m not totally sure but I know most of your saying is not right. Plus it’s beach!! Your supposed to feel comfortable and wear bikinis literally what you wear to the beach
@@urfavv.paypay I'm not going to argue with you; As a lawyer, I can only tell you what the law is and not whether I would be happy or not if someone took my photograph as you outlined. However, the law is the law, and the fact is, that people do take photographs on the beach, which is a public area and although a person may not like it, they cannot lawfully stop someone from taking their picture. Do you really believe that photographers who take pictures in public places have to ask everyone in the picture for their permission? this would entail asking hundreds of people for their permission. My personal feelings on the matter have no bearing on it, I am not saying I agree with taking photos of people indiscriminately, and in reality, it is not something that most people will do, they usually photograph family members or friends, not strangers, although there may be many strangers in the background of their shot. It certainly does go against the grain of many people if someone takes their picture without their consent, and I can understand that. But, as I said, it is not very usual for it to happen anyway, so is not a big issue legally, I have seen very few cases come to court and in those cases, there have been mitigating circumstances; In actual fact I have seen many more cases in court where someone has taken action against a photographer, physically, and it is they, who has ended up being in the wrong and having to pay court costs, etc as well as any fine imposed on them. I am not condoning people photographing strangers under the circumstances you describe and is something I would certainly not do personally. But, I have to stress, although it may be unethical, it is not against the law to do so in Australia. The argument in favour of the law as it stands would be "If you don't want people to see your body in public, don't display it in a public area"
@Yue_Jin So... every part of the world? There are pedophiles, rapists and perverts in every corner of Earth. It's not a country/culture thing, it's a (mostly) male human thing.
@@fonziygor8585 they touched people when the people didn't want them to.Thats illegal there. And some took photos of people without them wanting to be photographed.Thats also illegal there. The people did illegal things that's what they did wrong
I love how people always use the excuse 'I'm new here' like. Boy. Your not. And even if you are. You do NOT have the right to touch people without their permission. That's just wrong
Sadly, there are probably countries that allow things like this. That, or these creeps think they will get away with it because they're "just visiting." I'm so glad that the lifeguards and police take it seriously!
Gotta give it up to these lifeguards, going above and beyond looking out for the people and saving lives. What a rewarding and sometimes a emotional job they have!!
When the guy started kicking off at the family, it made me so happy when the wife defended the son and pointed out that it was the husband who took the photos. You know he had a rough conversation at home. Hopefully she left him.
@hilaryc3203 did you notice the woman sons weren't little kids they were adults so she is free to leave her disgusting husband. The sons might not even live with the parents
@@daniellewoolley8607 And they often still stay to keep the family finances in tact as many parents provide financial support to adult children in uni and/or starting out their adult lives. I have seen this as a motive in some of my clients. I also made no personal assumption on the dynamics of this family
This reminds me of a time someone tried to touch me at a local beach, I knee’d him brutally in the face and waved out a lifeguard to call police, about like 17 other people witnessed it bc I screamed while knee’ing him, so if your gonna defend yourself from a predator in a beach, ✨scream✨ while doing it.😁
I've never been to Bondi beach, as I live in Melbourne and haven't ever visited Bondi. One of the main reasons why is because of big crowds, I get super overwhelmed in them and worry about drowning, getting lost, etc. But with amazing, compassionate and empathetic lifeguards like you lot constantly surveying the area, I might just have to book a flight up to Bondi!! Love your videos, keep up the great work! 😄
I love how respectful there are to the police and how much they work together. Making it known that it isn’t an emergency and that if they’re busy it’s ok and they’re keeping an eye out if it does escalate
I remember in 1990’s myself, mother, sister and niece were on the island 🏝️ of Oahu on the gorgeous beach sitting and I saw this little girl walking by herself so I got up and ask her were her mother was she was about 4 or 5 yrs. old. I stood there and her mother was panicking and I knew that was her mother. She thanked me and I was thinking anyone could have taken her. Bless her sweat heart Hawaii island Oahu is gorgeous! We were from Tenn. and we also meet some guys from Australia and love hearing them talk. Then my niece and I walked a bit down down the beach and we even meet 2 guys my niece knew were from were we lived! You never know who you’re gonna meet!! 🥰💖💕
It was GREAT I'm happy to see these young professionals taking SA seriously I'm sure ALL women feel safer knowing there is help available and that these pervs are being observed and apprehended
Thank you for showing this. It means a lot to see people taking strong actions against people like this, and not just being indifferent about it. Thank you to all of you who care enough to protect people in this way
@@BondiRescuewell you need to be fit to do this job! Don’t you. Thank you for watching out for the touches. Having been a victim it impresses me that you are so aware!
@@homosexualbiologicalmale--3 amen, I have a 12 year old son who isn't in the least interested in dating yet but we've discussed the seriousness of boundaries & consent with him since he was a baby starting with hands to yourself but serious discussions on what consent means & why it's so important since he was 5 & approaching kindergarten. We wanted him to understand that even in play your hands do not belong on someone else's body & what safe touching is but even those things like a fist bump or a game of tag still come with some level of consent because some people are just not comfortable with other people touching them in any way. He also needed to understand that his consent was just as important. As he's gotten older the conversation has evolved to adapt to what's approaching. A continuous dialogue is so important, I know for a lot of parents & kids it can be a somewhat uncomfortable conversation, like anything that even hints towards intimacy, but it has to be revisited & not treated as awkward just a check in because God only knows what the trend of the moment is

Its only funny when you aren't the ones who have to deal with them; I deal with this crud everyday and its always annoying when I can hear them speaking English rather clearly and then when in trouble they pull out that lie.
weird you say that, because this video looks almost fake to me. the fact that it looks like a reality show.. and the "police" doesn't look like actual police
@@koreanzombie6697 Because they don't start waving guns around immediately? They are very much real police. And they will very really arrest you if you're breaking the law.
@@koreanzombie6697 Bondi Rescue is a reality show. There is a real beach with real surf and real swimmers/surfers and real lifeguards who really patrol the area keeping people safe. This clip is a selection of events that all feature inappropriate behaviour, as the title suggests.
This is just great to see. There is so much opportunity to ignore the creeps and molesters of the world, turn a blind eye or assume it was an accident rather than investigate. Seriously, you guys make me feel so safe even when I'm not in your country, just knowing people are doing good! Amazing stuff, we don't see it often enough!
@@CrissyBellon when did I say wear full dress? I said stop wearing no clothes. This video clearly states that the women were sun bathing without clothes on.
It was awesome how the lifeguards responded to the mentally ill person! Yeah, patience, caution, and above all empathy are exactly how the situation should be handled! The police seemed to do really well, too.
Yes they did but I was a tech on a psych unit for years. I never once heard a paranoid schizophrenic who was out of touch with reality admit they were schizophrenic.
The second scenario with that old man who was grabbing woman in their crotch, that’s downright creepy, mental, disgusting, and that man should be put in an institute. Your lifeguards are incredible for immediately saying “Call the cops”. Any other mediocre guard would just walk up, yell and if he didn’t go they’d get angry and do nothing. Props to your lifeguards! Bondi is wonderful and your people are very genuine.
but they went to get murderers and criminals, that in this video no person committed crimes with the exception of the police who arrested innocent people who did nothing wrong
@@fonziygor8585 I advise you to stay away from Bondi beach, because if you think those people did nothing wrong, you're likely to end up arrested too.
@@QueenMonny Australia is all illegal, it is a land stolen by the English. The English must look at their crimes before pointing the finger at those who take photographs on the beach
I honestly love what you guys do keeping this creeps off the beach is honestly the best thing to do to make sure everyone on the beach is safe and can have nice time with friends and family
This is the first time I’ve ever watched you fellas. And I’ll let you know right now that it won’t be the last time. You take your job and the peoples safety very seriously and I’m impressed big time. I love these lifeguards, they remind me of my little roosters protecting their hens., lol I was a beach guard on the san diego beaches, I never had this much fun. lol
why what's wrong with taking photos, explain to me! And then I noticed that when these innocent people are arrested everyone takes pictures of them with their phones. Then others shouldn't take photos either.
@@fonziygor8585- EXACTLY!!! This beach is PUBLIC...meaning NO expectation of privacy! Yes, it's a girls "right" to sunbathe on a beach, but it's also MY right as a photographer to photograph whatever I want in PUBLIC AREAS!!
@@natalieross2696- then don't wear a bikini!!! I see tons of women taking pictures of dudes not wearing a shirt!!! Why is that okay, if we can't take a photo of a beautiful woman in a bikini????? Why do you think men and women go to the beach??? To enjoy watching people and possibly hooking up!!
@@bigdee8189 in fact it is exactly like that. But if you take photos of people and girls, they must remain private and cannot be published in newspapers, social media or websites. At least in my country that's what the law says
Wow I never seen anything like this. I grew up going to the Beach and still do in OC Southern California. These lifeguards and police did an amazing job for keeping everyone safe. Thanks 😊
I had an encounter with an older man on the beach in New York. Two girls first noticed the man playing with himself on the beach and were scared so told me and my family because they were alone. By the time we got the the beach the man was waving and talking to me from the water. After a bit longer of being very uncomfortable he took a picture of me. This was the end of me and my family being nice. We ended up chasing him around the whole state park. We called the cops and they said they legally couldn’t do anything because it was a public beach so he was allowed to take a pic of me. So somewhere their is this old man with a picture of me when I was 16 years old. Disgusting.
I just hate how they say “no English “ or “ new here” to try to see if they get the free pass out of a horrible thing. Like I am pretty sure every place in the world does not allow that
I didn't realise how low humans could stoop. The life guards also make a fair point - these individuals are depriving the life guards from concentrating on those in the water that may need rescue. Hopefully they are never compromised.
Bravo for not fussing about and for handling things rationally and efficiently. You are helping to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for people.
Just to let everyone know, deleting them from the camera seems like a good idea, but the person could still put that card in a computer and recover them, I've watched a photographer do that when he accidentally deleted one of his nature photos before. Edit: yes I know he cut the card, obviously that also works. What I'm saying is for the cards not cut up, the data can still be recovered. And he only broke the card because there were too many photos. Also it's probably a nice tip to know for those who have actually thought they deleted a photo of their own by accident and want to try and recover it.
deleting and formatting are different processes. 'Deleting' something doesn't zero out the data, it just marks it as overwritable. Loved watching him take the shears to the card. It's somthing I've always wanted to try out but when you've got high speed high capacity cards its just not cost effective.
This video brings me so much joy. To see all of these lifeguards and police believing these women and defending/protecting them. I have absolutely been touched in the water like this. I felt guilty for being uncomfortable but somehow, it was always very nonchalant men doing it. And when you realize the times that a woman or an innocent man has bumped you in the water and you take inventory of that reaction, its a very sobering feeling.
I have wanted to go to bondi beach for many years because I watch your videos, the beach is an amazing place as long as creeps and weirdos don’t ruin it. Have a great day!!😊
i love how the captions for the british guy are wrong because the australians probably couldnt understand him properly. he actually says "it would end up with the police coming for hitting someone" lol.
Its not okay to take pic inappropriately at the beach. Its not on. Glad you deal with them. Cutting up SD card was the best thing I have seen. Well done!
It's actually brilliant because apparently you can still recover images if they have been deleted off the SD card! But a completely destroyed card will be unusable! 🙌
Indeed. But the guy asking to delete pictures from a phone wasn't as smart. The pictures are still on the phone even if you press the delete button and they can be retrieved easily.
As a fellow Australian life guard it is very disgusting and unbelievable to see creeps enter the beach, that is all i want and the rest of my companions to have the people on the beach to have a great day at a beach not get touched by meantally ill or even people who know what there doing touching young girls in the part that should not be touched
The fact thay the lifeguards deal with it so professionally is great. I would feel safe if I come here in the future!! Its great how the lifeguards absolutely WILL NOT accept any touching or anything from men. Thanks for being so regarding guys.
I think it's kinda funny that the first woman was asking for help because the dude had a camera and in response the guys with the full on tv camera crew not only go over to film the situation, but literally film her as well xD
After watching this video, people are having fun, but how alert and responsible are the rescuers, they are just doing their job responsibly and honestly, in which their responsibility is to protect people, even if they are bad people. From bad situations to the best or the best. Lots of love from me to all of you friends
In the US, people would be told " Its a public area and you have no expectation of privacy" and it would be protected by the constitution. Beachgoers would be told, "If you dont want to be filmed or photo'd, you can leave".
@@jaba9960- that's the way it SHOULD be!! I enjoy taking photos of gorgeous women at the beach!! But, the women are wearing a bikini...so who cares??? It's a public beach!! If people don't like it...don't go!! Stay home!!
Partially true. I don't go to the beach much because their are some real crazies there. The more popular beaches are just plain dangerous during summer holidays.
Yeah, that's what I thought too. In the US, people shouldn't have an expectation of privacy in public. Taking pictures without consent is still a creepy thing to do,but it's not illegal.
I love how this beach has such amazing lifeguards, and how they think everyone should have the right to feel safe and have fun on the beach, they are such a great group of lifeguards and they deserve the job❤
We do! Lots of them! My husband would strangle everyone of those creeps. My Dad, all 8 of my brothers, my son, my son in-law. Not to mention every woman in my family would help. If you aren't finding any then your not really looking.

I was honored to serve with a few Australian & New Zealand SAS members back in the 70s. Great guys. Tough guys. I went to the home of one of them outside of Melbourne. We drove over to the beach and he told me how honored it was to try out for the lifeguard positions… Once he got out of the service the following year. I’ve come to realize that it is an honored position to become a lifeguard in Australia. They love their lifeguards there, and they really are great men and women.
