Tbh, maybe they are. The doctor repeats he is a timelord, but we know he isnt. I know, Im not a fan of the timeless children, but the doctor being part of the pantheon could be cool if done properly
@@tenhayz1889 I think The Doctor is pretty much confirmed at this point to be _more_ than a Time Lord, and Time (the mythological being) did appear in Flux as The Doctor… maybe it wasn’t just a look chosen to make 13 feel comfortable or out of convenience…?
@@tenhayz1889 I kind of feel like the origins of the Doctor shouldn't be explored any further anytime soon. RTD tried his best to mend the mess that was previously done and stitch it into the canon in a proper semi-functional way, but I think it should be left at that. Maybe in the future it can be explored what species the Doctor really is or what really is his homeworld but it feels like it's too soon now.
@@nikolaspapanagnou2723 that's understandable but maybe it would've been too trivial. After all, in the show's canon and lore, it's not Sutekh who comes from Egyptian mythology but more like the other way around. He has no reason to sound or look "Egyptian" because after all he is not.
i haven't seen anyone else mention it yet but the way the tardis physically becomes distorted is so unsettling... like the way the top sign is slightly shifted and the whole thing looks really squashed. praying for the tardis to finally get a break after the flux effects and now this 🙏
@@Joseph-uo3mx the multiple doors / weird stuff growing inside caused by time unraveling made it go all funny and damaged. it was fixed in the new years special where it was reset
@@Joseph-uo3mxhonestly same, I feel like I would struggle to name 10 things from that season, I think the timeless children just made me tap out until the 60th even though my body technically watched it rip
One and the same :P (at least the voice actor, at most - well Carla said it was the Beast - they may tie the two together in universe not just the voice actor)
They are most definitely linked, not only because they share the same voice (which is not necessarily a link but it's there), but also because Sutekh's names include "the Beast" and, according to the Fourth Doctor, even "Satan". I'm sure they're one and the same.
Yeah, I got curious for a sec that we were getting a Master reveal as I recognise that music anywhere, one of the more famous series 10 unreleased tracks.
Nearly 2 decades later and Murray gives us the fans one of his greatest compositions! I beg you Murray, get these tracks out to us! 😭 I’ve wanted the series 10 soundtrack for so long, and now I crave this too! This is your opportunity! For us the fans, we would be so very grateful 🙏
It was originally The Beast's theme that was reused for The Master to emphasize The Master's evil. This is really Murray coming full circle since the voice actor for Sutekh also portrayed the Beast.
No, he lost because despite his power level at the time he was constantly confined by the Eye of Horus. Hopefully something else has him confined again or it's all over.
@@maxcardun but he successfully destroyed the Eye of Horus. the doctor only prevented his return because he could take advantage of the 2 min it would take for the signal to stop reaching earth. then trapped him in a time corridor. Sutekh all but won all those years ago, he only lost because the Tardis can travel in an instant allowing the Doctor to beat him. like the Toy Maker using accents to prevent being beaten the same way twice. Sutekh take the Tardis
@@TheTARDISCourier Personally I don't think that Susan Triad is part of Sutekh's plan as much as someone else giving The Doctor a proper signal to return to Issac Newton and give him back the proper name for Gravity. Mavity is why all these evil beings are breaking in to our dimension. Probably made it possible for Sutekh to escape that temporal corridor he was trapped in.
@@maxcardun But the doctor said himself that it was the salt that brought them back... and going back means facing the faceless things again and overwriting his own timestream so that's out of the question
@@justarandomguy2424 They were not "faceless" they were the "Not Things". At any rate that was just invoking a supersition. The thing is The Doctor accidentally caused a paradox that for some reason he doesn't fully feel, except maybe just a blip. Triad was there as Newtons Maid only The Doctor and Donna didn't see her. Time itself is leaving a clue to get back there and fix it.
1:40 this bit was actually from Series 10 in world enough and time. If you go back and watch the scene where simm is revealed to missy you'll hear its the exact same track one to one
Amazing!!! Thank you! This is so clean. SUTEKH IS BACK (also great to hear that track from 10x11). The score is really different too, very experimental for Gold.
Murray smashing it as per usual. Really random use of 'Ghosts' from Last Christmas at the end though. Like a super mash of it. Would of thought he'd done something original?
@@brigadier-tc8565Sutekh and the Beast might actually be connected by more than that. In _Pyramids of Mars_ the Doctor lists off a few other names Sutekh is known by, one of which is "Satan".
I love this theme! When the horn first comes in at the beginning, it's the same two notes as the cyberman theme, then you get a bit of Simm! Master's theme and then theme and similarities from the Satan's pit. I wonder if that will all come together to mean something? And I love the church bell ringing at the end. Very ominous
Absolutely loved this soundtrack and this moment in the episode! Can’t wait for empire of death. Is it just me or did I hear a hint of the masters theme in here? 1:45 - 2:00
I can't really agree. This feels very distinctively in Murray's style for me, it gives me some earlier series vibes. Some parts throw me back to like Series 3 or something. But it's true that Murray Gold's style has evolved over the years.
ha-hA-HA-HA!-Ha-ha-ha🤪. OMG IM STILL SHAIKING LAUGHING LIKE A MAINIAC FULL OF EXCITMENT JUST WATCHED IT AGAIN AND OMG OMG OMG AAAAAAAAAH🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Murray is known to publicly (like most composers in the know) actively dislike Hans. This was giving me more Trevor Morris meets James Horner (specifically "Aliens") vibes.
The show's become pretty damn awful but at least the music still hits. Feels a bit generic though, needs more of its own rhythm - it borrows a lot from some of Murray Gold's old tracks. Edit: Damn, it's clear to see from these replies why this show is failing and viewership is dropping. Where was all this vitriol when people criticized 'Love and Monsters' or 'Kill the Moon'. Fuck toxic positivity.
