Suvie 3.0 Kitchen Robot Unboxing; It’s Finally Here!
After about 8 months my Suvie 3.0 has finally arrived. Today we’ll take it out of the box, browse through some of the documentation, but we need to wait 24 hours prior to taking it for a test drive. This waiting period is due to the refrigeration unit, and I’ll explain this in the video.

Honestly, I don't remember where I first saw this...probably some annoying advert. Honestly, the thing that really got me interested, was the built-in refrigeration feature. People set up crock pots to auto-start, but that means the food is sitting in there at room-temp for an unsanitary amount of time. Even thawing frozen food on the countertop rather than in the fridge, has its own risks as the outer part can raise to an unsafe temperature, while the inside is still frozen. And that might be ok if you're going to cook it immediately, but the longer you wait, the riskier it is. Germs Bro...it's all about germs :)

**BUYER BEWARE** Paid for the Chef's Package Dec 5, 2021. Received only the Kitchen Robot and none of the accessories or the Pasta Machine. Waited patiently for 10 months. I had to be the one to email 2 or 3 times to ask regarding delivery status but on both occasions it was not delivered as promised. They finally offered if I wanted to have a refurbished one!! I declined and asked for a refund. Still waiting for said refund.

My order was on 2/11/22 and mine arrived on 10/26/22; 8 freaken months to get it! After months of delay, I made a second (or third, I don't remember which) inquiry about my unit in August. At that time, I was offered a refurbed unit, with a $100 worth of extra free meals, or a 3.0 upgrade. The refurbed unit would arrive within the week, but the 3.0 would be another couple of months. Obviously, I opted for the 3.0 upgrade. So, here's how I see it...they got in waaaaay over their head with their choice of chinese manufacturing, and they were hammered by the chinese bat virus. It was a lot of money to leave hanging like that for the better part of a year, and if they would have folded during that time, my money would surely be lost. But with it all being said and done, I'm glad I took that risk, I'm glad I upgraded to the 3.0, and I really do like this unit. As for their meal service, I find it to be a bit on the expensive side...and this is coming from someone who makes monthly Omaha Steaks orders, and Omaha Steaks products are known for being high priced.

Interesting 😊 I made my first Shepard’s pie last month. I substituted the hamburger with shaved steak & it was really good!

The steak would be a nice twist; a quick and easy way to do that would be to use steak-umms in it. What I like about the Omaha Steak ground beef, is even their basic ground beef (not their high-end offerings) is better than any other ground beef I've had. They run it through the grinder twice; so there is no chance of any weird or gristly bits. They run an 80/20 blend, which is lower than I buy at my local Kroger store. And maybe those are the reasons why I like their shepherd's pie. And like their lasagna, and their beef stew, it's heavy with the meat (the meat to potato ratio is actually too high). And of course, I'm waaaaaay too lazy to actually make it myself :)

When I bought my 2.0 it took 4 or 5 months to come in. The accessory kit took three months to come in...they are terrible at shipping. They make Alibaba look like Amazon at shipping

Yes, I find it very strange that they are trying to sell an item, that they can't get to the customer in a timely manner. This is a great example of why not to produce your products in China. There are literally dozens of other third-world countries with cheap labor they could be exploiting...and exploiting cheap labor is why they chose China. Or here's a new idea: manufacture it in the USA, or Canada, or the UK, or Europe, or even Mexico. If Suvie implodes due to this fiasco, they've only themselves to blame...and of course their poor choice of using Chinese factories that cannot deliver as promised, for whatever reason.

When I see the words 'smart' and 'robot' used on an appliance that makes me scared. What the hell a Litre is 😹made me laugh. At least this new cooker has the ability top hack your bank account, gotta love it when everything is connected to the web. This device looks like something out of the Netflix series Black Mirror. A future way to do your home cooking, no making, no thinking just let it rule your life. Run for the hills BM22 before it's taken over your bank account.

So, I used it for the first time yesterday...I got around the whole not connecting it to Wi-Fi by just using my phone as a hotspot to set this up and download updates and then disconnect. For some reason, the time didn't auto-set, and it's 3-hours ahead; I probably gotta fix that, if for nothing else, not having to do the math if I set up the start timer. But really, I never set the clock on my microwave, and the clock on my stove is flashing the wrong time due to a power outage we had 6 months ago during a wind-storm, and for half the year the clock is off in my car because I never re-set it for that crappy daylight savings time shift...so maybe the correct time does not really matter. Anyways, after cooking, I get an email asking me to rate my meal. And yes, the app does have my debit card number, which they use to try to force me to order their meal service; it's a push-notice opt-out system. And the robot didn't differentiate between using their meal service, or cooking something of my own; I made Omaha Steak lasagna. It came out a bit overcooked for two main reasons. I told the KR that it was frozen, so it added defrost time, to the Omaha Steak recommended cook time which was for cooking it from frozen. And I've not yet figured out the time conversion when comparing recommend oven cooking time, and KR cooking time. The KR cooks fasted. Even so, it still tasted great.

Hey how much are the meals?! That is sorely lacking before you purchase the actual cooking robot

The meals seem VERY expensive; I've not ordered any yet and declined delivery each week so far. I do plan on trying them out, but not until I have enough extra money to give it a real try. As far as I can tell, the meals are priced by serving, not by meal. So, when it says $22 a serving, I'm pretty sure they mean $44 for a meal for two people. I've seen some cheap meals around $9.99 a serving ($19.98 a meal) but those were pretty low-end meals. When I start ordering the meals, I'll make a video about them, their cost, and their value. They brag about the meals only costing 2/3 what a restaurant meal would cost, and that seams about right for a higher-end eatery. But the main reason I bought this, was to cook meals from other places like Omaha Steaks, which I've done. I've also cooked frozen French fries, steaks, and chicken. Also, be warned: each week you have to opt-out of your meal delivery, or they will send (and bill) you for the meals. As much as I like this cooker, I'm now of the impression that they are a meal service company, who just decided to sell a cooker dedicated to their meals. Here is an example: Tangy Tomatillo Chicken, $12.99 plus $0.99 a serving. Prime Rib with potatoes, $12.99 plus $9.99 a serving. My base meal plan is $12.99 a serving, so meals above that plan have an added fee per serving. It says to add more meals, to increase the savings; it shows a $12.99, $12.49, and $11.49 price levels at the top of my ordering page. This seems like a lot, but then again, I spend between $250 and $350 every month or so at Omaha Steaks...

After over 6 months of waiting for mine and considering a refund, I was offered a 3.0 upgrade, or a refurbed unit. I opted for the upgrade, and I've not regretted it yet. With that said, it took around 10 months for mine to arrive...but I'm living large now :)

Try it...I stand by that statement. As well as the statement that it is over-priced, and in no way serves 4 people. It serves two people at best.
