I have the 2009 version of this bike which makes it 10 years old but it only has 11000kms on the clock. I've owned a variety of bikes and currently own a Kawasaki Voyager 1700 of about the same age that has 90000kms on the clock. The Suzuki is a great bike for a day out one the open road as well as zipping around the city, It is light compared to the Voyager (nearly 400 kgs wet) and responsive. The CVT means twist and go and so it can zip off at the lights where the electrically fold in mirrors mean a place at the front of the line (if lane splitting is legal). Good airflow at low speed is possible through the electrically adjustable screen (while riding) that can be raised to keep the wind off on the open road. When touring it keeps up with the big sports bikes, cruisers and tourers with ease. There is plenty of storage but adding a top box means a packed picnic for a day out. Government charges make a big bore bike/scooter an expensive exercise to keep on the road but the fun and enjoyment of a good day spent riding with mates or enjoying the scenery make it worthwhile. Keep in mind it is the ride not the destination that is important. It is the journey not who you got there, on whatever machine you like not how fast you rode or how quickly you got there.
Maybe something to keep in mind for the next video, is to actually point the camera at what's being pointed out instead of trying to keep the guy and bike in frame :) it's a bit annoying when he points at something interesting and it's just out of frame..
I own the 2011 Suzuki 650 Executive. I have also owned a 2004 400 a number of years ago. I have modified my Burgman 650 quite a lot. I placed an extension to raise the backrest. The stock is just too low. Also, the screen height is too low. Even at maximum adjustment, I get a fair amount of wind buffeting to the helmet. I'm 6'1". For nearly $10,000, those are a few items Suzuki needs to address. For safety, also place additional bright fog lights to the front. I did on my 2011.
Thanks for the feedback. We were under fairly tight time constraints actually to film this at Motorcycle Live. But it's something we'll see if we can edit in, and we'll take that feedback onboard for the future.
