My rear brakes were starting to squeal so it was about time to change them out. I wasn't able to find a RU-vid video or guide out there for replacing them, so here is mine. Good luck!

I have a video on it. Not hard if you have time and wiring knowledge. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ka8bCEspcBA.html

Unbelievably helpful video. Very successful. One find, our swing arm bolt was facing in the same direction. I think this is intentional when built. Well done! Thank you!

Great video.....very helpful. BTW the bolt from that bar is on the way it was from factory. The 14mm head of my bolt was on the inside and the nut was on the outside....why I dont. My only guess is that there was a need to maximize clearance on the inside and the nut is thicker and the bolt would also pop out past the nut versus almost flush with bolt on inside.

You should put some anti-seize on the pad pins only where they sits in the caliper they can come rusty and hard to get out

What year is the bike because the dash seem to be electric rather than the mechanical

What year is the bike cause your dash seems to be electric not the mechanical one

It is a 2001 Katana. The dash is a custom unit I installed on it. I have a few videos on it on my channel with links and guides.

I'm a pro first,if this job isnt shown in the manual than its crap. Also there is no need to pull the caliper. Just the 2 pins and thats it

How did you compress the piston while it was still on the bike? Had this bike 2 years and became a pro at carburetors. Now working my way down🤣. And i love short cuts

@@goadmerle use a small screwdriver and force it gently between one pad and the disc

@@richardj2927 didn't work for mine. It still had the original pads. Containing a shim, and a tension spring. Ended up throwing those away because the new pads had a thicker steel plate. Now i can change them without removing the caliper. So next time will take a few minutes. Thank you.

@@goadmerle sorry but then you didnt do it right. As said,I'm a professionell who did these jobs many years. If you cant pry the screwdriver between the pad and the disc you have to start gently on the edges of the pad. There is always enough room for it. Another way is to just hit the caliper with a hammer.Never had a working one that wasnt movable in one of those ways
