I'd love to come ride Croom one day. I'm in NC tho so its quite a hike. For the LTR...idk maybe shock upgrade. You said you were going to leave it pretty much stock-ish. Kill tether and handlebar setup is your go-to thing. Idk?

Maybe take the 450 motor out and put in a 500cc 2stroke?

My LTR upgrades: 13/37 sprockets Drilled air box Kick start Starter and wire harness deletes Battery in air box Blob delete RP Race exhaust CRBM - upgrading to vortex in near future, waiting for more parts before doing it Works connection brake return spring Quad tech seat LS4 beak Electronics guard DRW skid plate and case saver Waiting to order: Factory 43 nerfs Vortex Stage 1 intake cam New cylinder, and piston - probably stock compression. I only want to run 91 octane as that's what's easiest to get in my area Port and polished head Valves Suspension rebuild 18 inch tires - currently running 20s. Want to play with 18s for giggles New plastics mine came with trashed ones

@@PatrickRiggs33 it is. Love it and so does just about everyone that rides it. Especially when wanting to open it up. 4th and 5th are long and fast.

The 450 is nice, but as you said not good for luggin around. Why I voted keep the 400 & add a 450. I love my 450s but we still keep some Honda 250s around for just takin it easy and laid back. My only complaint of the LTR is the stupid starter gear bushing. I got my LTR in a box, guy before tore it down and put it back together completely jank and it broke the case. Grinded the inside of the stator cover and sent metal through the block. Thank God it stopped at the oil screens. Bought new cases, rebuilt to a monster. Only difference is I went kick start and did the whole wiring, and battery box delete. Except I did place a small battery in the air box to make it easier to kick.

So do you think the starter gear bushing is an inferior part or do you think the previous owner messed something up? I believe it's the same two bushings used in the Z400 and never had an issue there or my previous LTR that I owned for 3 years.

@@PatrickRiggs33 the bushing is fine as long as you remember to reinstall the bushing after you tear it down. The guy I bought it from didn't do this and it broke the case. I bought mine after the case had broke. From what I can tell I got mine from a "flipper" and when he was trying to rebuild it he broke the case and when that happened he decided to sell it immediately. I got it for cheap. Have about $3k in it total. I would say after seeing a channel on RU-vid talking about the team Suzuki ltrs, as long as you do the rebuild right. No reason to change or upgrade from the factory part unless you have to. Just a crappy situation around how bad and poorly cared for my LTR was.

@@nathanmistler1186 I hear that. I hate uncovering things on a used machine lol. Especially things they say they did and you find out they didn't. But that is to be expected 👍

@@PatrickRiggs33 I went into the purchase knowing it needed work just didn't know it was that bad. It also turned out to have a bent frame, that was fun fixing. I don't normally buy used for this reason but I didn't want a YFZ. The LTR is my dream bike and it's living up to it. On the flip side, I bought a used KFX and that thing looked like it was stored in a time capsule. Very minimal plastic wear and still had lots of tread on the factory tires. Though it didn't last long. But that thing was too nice to pass up for used. Definitely the better of the 2 purchases. Wife rides the kawi now. Crazy differences on power and handling.

The kawi was so stock it had factory tires, exhaust, intake, intake filter, grips, like everything as it was from the factory from 08. They bought it and stuck it in a garage and never touched it.
