You shared an interesting project. I’ve got the Bandit 1200 MK1 and it flies. It could do with six gears though. The down side is also my bike is heavy on fuel as I can’t ride it with much restraint and I don’t rev above 5K often. I usually get 33mpg and I haven’t noticed any better than 40mpg. Not as efficient as the water cooled version. I always wanted the GSX1100F power screen. 👍
Maaan you make me miss my RF. I had a 96 new but got rid of it after a short while because of constant police harassment. The irony of being on a squishy tourer but once you put plastics on, you are a target. Land of the free.
you must do a race carburator on your rf 900 i build also in holland ,suzuki gsx1100 is a old grandma in perfomive now rf is a beast after instal race carburat
@@Errol.C-nz yeah oversized valves would be great but they're ridiculously expensive and lead time is 6 months so i think i'll scrap that idea. SRAD head will not fit as it's a completely different design with cam chain on it's side, RF has a cam chain in the middle between cylinders 2 and 3. Good port work would probably work well, we shall see.
Wow, you really have skills and built something great👍 I set a new speed record for my RF900R today (it now has 13.600 Km (~8500 miles) on the clock) - 279 Kmh on the Autobahn, according to the speedometer. Subtracting 6,5% then equals actual GPS speed. So that were real 261,1 Kmh, which equates to 162,3 mph.

Hey bud love the RF900R I got it in red , I got about 22k miles on it have a rs3 yoshi pipe on but it has welded dB killer 😔 but still sounds good, what tips u have for more power?oh and how u get 6 gear?
Nah that wouldn't fit. I thought about resleeving of gsxr1100 block for 79.5mm pistons, that would give 1200cc, head porting, big cams, maybe OS valves. Just a thought.
i am loving that bike ha well i have for a long time now anyways. I'm having trouble with mine do you know where to get the carb slide guides reliably. its near impossible to find anything for the bdst36 carbs. i ordered a set from nrp carbs a month ago but they still have yet to ship. and ive found another part number N198020 and that says it fits rf900 but the info says its for a bst33 carb so i haven't tried yet
Hi buddy, i ordered my guides from NRP too and they arrived within a week. I know of a few people who also ordered from they and all arrived. Factory pro sells plated emulsion tubes which last longer. Worth buying.
@@Adikxx alright I guess I'll keep waiting for now thanks again. Yeah I have the plated emulsion tubes from factory pro as well as the factory pro jet kit with the new needles all I'm waiting on now are the guides but if you say nrp is good I'll take your word for it and keep waiting

Hi. I didn't have it dynoed so don't know exactly. High rpm is about the same as in stock engine as head was left stock with small cams. Low and mid range is noticeably beefier.
Awsome work. I fisrt descoverd the RF900 engine back in early 2000s. I sourced a cheap RF900 bike for a Seven type kit car. All the common engines used like Hayabusa - Blade were too much money for me. This is when I descover the RF900 engine. It was so underated. I later upgrade to a ZX12R engine which is when I relised how good the old suzuki engine was. The ZX12R defernatley had more power, but I was not as big a change that I was expecting. My recent play is with a RF600 engine. The Idea was to use it in a small Jetboat, as with most thing has not gone as plan. This engine has been modded to run DIY fuel injection. That is pretty cool what you're doing with the 600 engine. I always wanted to go FI on my RF cause carbs are just such pain in the butt in terms of maintenance.
My RF900 engine in my Seven Kitcar was also converted to EFI (Megasquirt) using GSXR600 K1/K2 throttle bodies. I you ever give it a try, do not hesitate to ask. I have kept most of the info I used including the megasuirt files.
