Great video! I just picked up a new '22 rmz250. Were you able to get to the other strainer under the timing cover while keeping the shifter on? Thanks!
Thanks! I completely forgot to include the second strainer in this video. I believe it has a 12hr cleaning service interval, and I do remove the shifter to get the cover off to gain access to the strainer.
the oil pump screen that you pulled out, On my bike it don’t have the original bolt and it’s missing the screen, Just bought a screen for it and am gonna see if it work with the self tapper it has in it right now, I was just wondering if the just sits in there or the OEM bolt actually does a job to the screen?
My manual says 1100 ml for a full oil change. If you don't take the stator cover off there's still going to be extra oil in there. Should be 1000 without that step
Nice job on the video! Whats the deal with 2 oil drain bolts? I'm considering picking up an RMZ, how do you like the bike overall? Reliable? I don't have the skill set to need more power than it offers, but I would like something that handles and turns well, and is bulletproof..do you think the rmz250 fits that bill? I appreciate it, thanks!
I bought one a month ago, and I would definitely recommend it. I'm a vet racer, and just wanted something to have fun on. The downside of it are the forks, they are stiff. I weigh about 180, and I got mine pretty good with the clickers. As I lose weight I may have to take oil out, or use softer springs. As far as power, it has plenty, and let's fave it only the top 1% of riders can push a stock bike to its full potential. You may get pulled down the straight, but this turns on a dime. Hope this helps you out.
I rode a 2021 CRF, the stock suspension was better, and it did have more low end. People hate on the RM because of the kickstart, but for the money I saved buying the RM, none of that mattered to me.
Any Fuel Injected RMZ’s are excellent bikes & known for their reliability. I rode this bike hard for 2 years with no issues at all. Just doing regular maintenance. As far as the oil drain bolts, who knows why Suzuki designed it like that. These 2019+ bikes do have really stiff suspension & it makes the bike handle pretty poorly for the average rider. I had my forks re-valved & rebuilt for around $300 and it made the bike ride like a dream. I highly recommend them to anyone! And i have pretty much all brands 2017+ 250F’s
