please dont add music! learning is about hearing sounds too. also the way you talk about mechanics, makes so much sense. you have got to be one of the best mechanical teachers on youtube
I was not liking the beginning with out your comments. I think it’s relatable to hear you discuss mechanics. You are the voice in every dudes head when we are working our own projects.
Yeah Made in Japan is a good thing it's the Made in China you gotta watch out for but there is not many things that came from Japan that was junk. They make good stuff in all things they do from knives ,electronics, cars and bikes they got that down to a science
2 stroked unfortunately don't last but about 40 to 60 hours. Before they have to be rebuilt. They wear out alot quicker than a 4 stroke. But man that 40 to 60 hours is alot of fun
Really like your style and commentary. First vid I watched of yours was the wagon. Super-entertaining, but instructive as well. I've been building hot rods for on 40 yrs. now too. Probably the best on RU-vid, IMO. Please keep 'em coming - I know what a lot of work it is to shoot and edit etc. You got great helpers though!
That sounds takes me back to my old 1973 250 Elsinore. Man, that was some tech back then. Today's bikes are light years ahead. we never dreamed of a liquid-cooled two-stroke. Cheers from Louisiana.
@Chris, your knowledge is Gold, dude! I love listening to you explain EVERYTHING about mechanics... A video without your voice would be kind of soulless IMHO, but, hey!, this is your channel and whatever you want to do with it, I will keep watching! Take care and stay safe, Sir!💪
top video mate,as a kid i bought a no compression 1982 rm465 and the barrel was so badly marked that the fella at the wreckers sold me a 1983 rm500 barrel and i bought a new piston 1 size overbore as i had to get that ol 500 barrell bored out, slapped it back together and it had so much compression for a 14 year ol that i had to use 2 copper headgaskets to lower the compression but it still went like a freight train
typically i really like the no talking videos because i love the noise of a shop and if you want to do more videos like that i'm all in but i would say no music but again only because i prefer the shop noises. that being said your bread and butter (i think) is your commentary! you do a great job of teaching and explaining what you're doing or what to look for when working on the project. that's my feedback but i really enjoyed this video, cool to see you experiment with different video styles
Thanks man I appreciate the feedback. Originally when I recorded this I was planning on talking over it later but then decided to try something a little different. I'll probably stick with the usual style. Appreciate you tuning in!
Can't get enough of your content! So glad my mom's terrain had a blower motor issue or I'd have never found all this awesome stuff. FWIW I prefer the talking over not talking.
Sorry, I know this is an old post, but I just watched it ... I prefer to listen to you talk. Even when you go on a rant, it's still enjoyable to watch ( listen )
I like the talking in the beginning better. Watching you rebuild that 2 stroke reminded me of my first time rebuilding a 2 stroke. I was 16 years old and it was a YZ 125. The cylinder was a little scored so I bored it to 144. Thing was a rocket ship. Then a picked up a super minty 1998 KTM 250 SX for $600 barely running. It needed a new top end rebuild too. I rebuilt that one but didn’t re-hone the cylinder and the bike ran super shitty for 30 minutes then died. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I sold it for $800. I wish I hadn’t ever sold it.
One thing I always liked about your videos is you have this vibe going of getting stuff done. Take your video clips of connecting a winch to a car and loading it on a trailer for example. Open chain box, drop chains on trailer, next scene connecting hook, next scene car being pulled onto the trailer. It has a certain pace, a feeling like you are really watching stuff get done. I guess the opposite would be a video someone posts where they sit and ramble on and on about random stuff that has nothing to do with the subject of the video. I find that irritating. I like your style of videos, and I am sure it takes a ton of editing. Short and to the point, with lots of valuable info. I am constantly inspired to go out to the garage after watching your channel. I just wrapped up a cooling system overhaul tonight on my MG project car. I was thinking, "Chris would be proud of me". Lol. Anyways, keep up the great content - your channel rocks!
i enjoy your videos when you share your knowledge, or lack there of lol. i do not have very much motor knowledge and like to learn by watching and listening to you.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow in the beginning you said you were trying something a little bit different and to let you know if we liked it and the answer is yes lol
Reminds me of my Rm 125, mine was the last year before they went to liquid cooled, I went everywhere in that bike, several years later I sold it for more than what I paid for it S
It’s nice you have certain test roads and trails. I’ve notice the gravel yard a few times. In my HOA I would be in hot water cruising on a dirt bike. I was a little sad you weren’t talking in the beginning of the video. I enjoy the commentary and singing Cadilackkkkkkkk. 👍
Like the commentary best forsure. Like quick little music blurps too. Awesome channel. You and camarata got the RU-vid /content / entertainment/ cinematography on point. High energy, mad mechanical skills and not scared to get the the job done.
That was one of your coolest videos. I grew up in western Pa and we had to ride along the tracks sometimes. I've been in Utah for a long time and at one point I had a Zuke RMX for a little while. Fun bike, miss my 2 strokes! Wish you would do more motorcycle videos!👍
With your knowledge and expertise it’s very helpful to hear your input while you’re disassembling! Boring first 2 minutes. Share your thoughts and knowledge NO MORE SILENCE!!
Awesome show I wish you would do more build like this. well brought back memories at the end. when I used to race my Honda CR250R used to rip brought back memories thank you but you know I would tear up that Suzuki 250 with my Honda CR250R thank you once again great memories Flash back for me thank you God bless
Either way is fine with me..i enjoy your videos they are very educational..but if i had to choose, i would rather hear your commentary Chris..another great job 🤘👍
Wiseco makes a good product. Used their pistons in some automotive builds, never in power sports type of stuff but I would assume the quality is just as good as it is for the automotive applications. Good vidja, sweet little ripper of a bike. Thanks for sharing with us bro. 🤙😎
Man I miss that sound! I used to have a Suzuki quadracer back in the day, it was so much fun to ride but it seemed like everytime I took it out something else would break on it.
Very cool project. the first dirtbike I ever rode was an RMX 250... this video makes me want to find one not running and get it going again. I like the videos with you explaining your process and what you are thinking about, but the silence while working was kind of cool too for when you don't really have to explain what you're doing just while taking things apart. Thanks again for sharing! ps. just found your other channel that for some reason I did not know existed... sub'd there too now! keep em coming!
Thanks man, and that's awesome! What a great bike they are. I actually wanted to buy this one off my buddy, but he had no interest in selling it. Thanks for the feedback on the video. And I appreciate you dropping a sub on the other channel too! Thanks
I got one of these when I was about 16 accept it was a 490cc and in cardboard boxes he brought new parts for a rebuild but didn’t know how to put it back together, so I made several trips to get the boxes home on my bicycle when finished it was an animal.
I know it's an older video but I have to agree with some of the others, no music unless it's Jen or ambient and please keep commenting throughout your videos. You make the videos great. Your demeanor, the interaction with Jen, Gus and Turbo all are what make your videos special. There are a million how to videos on here with lame music, bad intros and all the crap. I think I speak for many saying that you are the star. Most of the time I don't really care what you are working on. It's just fun watching. Keep up the awesome job.
I bought a DR many years ago with the same issue. I replaced the cylinder and piston . The bike became a DR 370 . So in the end I really made out . It ran for years. Really nice bike .
I remember riding my RM80 on the streets as a kid. Was not nearly as bold riding on the main streets. In our small town the cops had nothing better to do than pull us over and impound our bikes. I few weeks ago, on the way to work on a very busy street, a man on a go cart was cruising along, in a driving lane for about a mile.
Thanks man, and yeah part 2 definitely coming soon on the free washed up boat! A local viewer/friend said she had a starter kicking around for me to grab so I went ahead and got it. So far not a dime into the boat
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow Sweet Once You Clean It Up You and Jen can go Get Something To Eat But I will tell you this please put the New Tires Back On The Bass Dumpster Because I Know you put them on the washed up Boat put them back on then I will be as happy as ever!!!!
Much prefer the commentary and explanation of what you are doing. I have an old Kawasaki that I need to get going and I’m trying to learn whatever I can
No heat cycle, just fire it up and rip! Don't think I would have done that, but to each his own. I have rebuilt motorcycles as a hobby for 10 years. My first was a 1990 Suzuki RM250 much like this one. It's not an expensive hobby, really. I would love to do a car like the Plymouth you did but may be a bit outside my budget. Keep up the videos!
I warmed it up in the backyard for like 7 minutes or so and then let it cool down, and then took it out for a rip. And thanks man I appreciate you checking out the videos!
Love your videos you asked and I don't like the no talking you're pretty informative but then the same time don't be too informative because it's a fine line huh keep up the videos will keep watching👍
Awesome! Yeah good stuff. I actually looked up some more of their music after you commented and was rocking out to it for a bit in the garage last night
That IS PRETTY SICK MAN! lol My luck would be, immediate fail if I didn't do what needed to be done to be safe. no joke, I have tried the short rout too many times and it never works out for me. awesome video...
I hope you were questioning the relationship with these “friends”. Dam, Who would do that to an engine? (hopefully he’s not “put it back together as cheaply as you can because I’m selling it”, Guy) I think the no sound format is interesting, but you’re a charming and informative guy. Talk as much as you want!
