Suzuki is harsh n hard sound useful for notch songs western style .... but Hohnour is always madhur sweet audible wavy sound useful for Bollywood songs ... .... the difference is observed by many viewers in Pune auditorium.

MR. SINGH - QUESTION, PLEASE - Two years ago when you were comparing these two harmonicas, were you playing both OUT-OF-THE-BOX or you adjusted some of the reeds? Were they both equally optimally playable out-of-the-box or you had to adjust or readjust any of the reeds or windsavers (valves)? Having played both of those chromatics, I have a problem keeping the CX12 SLIDE in place while adjusting reeds. But other chromatics: Just remove the cover plates and the slide assembly is still in place, reed or valve readjusting is not as problematic and tedious.

I have been following the reviewes in your site, about to buy a harmonica, liked the hohner sound quality, but became doubtful due to read and wooden comb longevity, in a fix, and toggling between scx 48 and hohner 270 chromonica. Suzuki will not be a bad deal from these viewpoints. Pls guide.

Sir ji I have both harmonica Cx12 and Chromatix SCX 48.I find that Chromatax is easy to play and the sound bit louder than other harmonica like super chromatic harmonica, even Seydel Saxony harmonica sound is not. low.

Sir is the Hohner cx 12 more mellow or soft compared to Suzuki scx48 which seems more bright. And how is the slider mechanism for Suzuki?

Recently I purchased honar cx12 c chromatic hormonica but while using it I start gasping little bit. Does it mean that harmonica is defective and it happens in lower octave only . Please guide me.

I liked SCX64 more than CX12. The SCX64 has far better resonance than CX12 and is better suited for Indian music. CX12 is suitable for western blues music. I haven’t heard anybody playing Indian songs on CX12 Jazz model, but I think it might be better for Indian music than CX12.

What about comparing SCX64 to Hohner 280, given both have 16 holes, I assume they are equivalent to each other in terms of range of tone and holes, not sure if I'm right. In terms of condensing issue under cold temp., are they the same? Which one is more responsive, are they almosst same? I have only Suzuki 64, never have tried Hohner.

Sir should a beginner buy a Hohner Cx12 harmonica?

Some songs prefer a harmonica. Some demand melody. Some rythms. So Rafee didnt hum in semitone. And Kishorda didnt hum turns as RafeeSaheb. Both harmonicas are of highly performance calibra. One shd have both. And certain to play both with pleasure of every song.

Sir both harmonicas are good but hohner is slightly better always ,sir what do you think about hohner chrometta 12 ,which is lesser in price

Sir why SCX64 and CX12 why not SCX48 and CX12? 16 hole always has a diff tonal quality than the 12 hole even from same brand

Main thing is personal liking. I never these mo. In opinion, cx 12 is better tonal quality. And I think cx 12 need less breath stamina to play.

I think hohnar tone is echo oriented but Suzuki is accuracy oriented. Between hohnar and Suzuki, hohnar is defect pron, perhaps due to wind saver. Suzuki ruff and tuff.

Dear Dr. Singh, Q U E S T I O N , P L E A S E - P R O B L E M THAT'S UNIQUE TO THE CX-DESIGN CHROMATICS: Unlike the traditional-style chromatics, which merely need the cover plates removed in order to re-adjust any reed, the CX design is somewhat of a problem in that the slide is difficult to hold in place to adjust & play the reeds with the housing/cover removed. Have you discovered a solution to facilitating such type of maintenance to the CX-DESIGN chromatics? Thanks a million for any help.

I'm sorry-I used to have a cx-12 and while it played o.k., it looks like a toy. Suzukis quality and responsiveness is way above Hohner. I have horror stories to tell you about Hohner.

If you have surplus money you can purchase all the world famous harmonicas, there is hardly any difference in tonal qualities. A good player can play superbly in any such top class harmonicas. The purpose of this vdo is not understood, rather confusing to the beginners.
