I think in the garage they put the car on a lift, remove the left tyre, and the mud guards on the side and under. They also have special tools for adjusts the belt and to remove it. Doesn't take them too long.
Useful info. I have a 2011 swift sport with the 16A engine. Similar arrangement except alternator hinge is 8mm Allen key driven set screw. Belts are on my engine are 5pk835 for the alternator and 4pk810 for the compressor. Taking the grill off makes it a bit easier dealing with the compressor.

Took my car to my mechanic before Christmas for belt/pulley noise and I reccon he just sprayed the belt and told me to fuck off because the noise was worse a few days afterwards and did the job in almost no time whatsoever. Probably couldn't be arsed and wanted to do the next job on his list.
It's the bearing on the tensioner, I changed mine at 30, 000 km, all the grease inside the old one (original for the car) was gone. Around 50, 000 km started to squeek again. Changing the bearing cost me less than 20 dollars. A new tensioner assembly is around 60.
Hi, thanks so much for this upload. We have replaced the AC belt over the weekend with a new one on my wife's 2005 Suzuki Swift . But this morning we can smell something like burning rubber coming in through the AC vent when the heater is on. Does this mean the belt is not aligned properly on the pulley? We cannot see anything running on the belts though. Or could it be too tight? Any advice would help a lot. Thanks.
I threaded that bolt on the pulley because I tried to do it without taking the front grill and the light off which is much easier to take it off that way. I had to replace the air con bracket and pulley to get it working.
Hi 👋. Im looking at a barina with 144k on it today. I purchased a 1 owner TK barina at 89k for my daughter. 84 year old lady. One owner and belt was changed at 64k. I noticed idler pulleys being steel are a little glazed like on my vx commodore. Im hoping the car for my son will be good ? My mauin concern is the timing belt replacement? Subbed and liked 👍 ❤
For the AC belt do you tighten or loosen to slacken the belt? Trying to change alternator here on a splash (similar layout) but the AC belt has to come off to change the alternator belt
um do you know the belt number for the M13A A/C Compressor? or is it the same as the 1.5? Update: I found it it's 4PK815 or 4PK811 for the A/C and for the alternator Is 4PK830.
I'm currently attempting to change both belts, but the tensioner is so tight, i can not get it off at all (and the fact that the previous owner rounded of the bolt doesn't help either..)
@@michaelsmith-hj3zt I think you already fixed it, otherwise use a dremel with flex shaft and flex it of. The bolt and nut cost around 10 dollars at your suzuki dealership...
