Knobbly tyres? Check. Sense of adventure? Check. Sense of direction? Thankfully we’ve got someone else to help with that as Tony takes his Suzuki V-Strom 800DE onto the dirt roads of Norfolk. He’s joined (and guided) by Sportsbikeshop’s warehouse manager Ant on his KTM 1290 Super Adventure S.

That looked like a great day out and chips well earned. Any chance you could share the .gpx route, would love to try it in a few months time.

So how did the Suzuki fair on the dirt? Would you say it’s similar to a Yamaha T7? I live in North wales and if I bought one I’d definitely want to use it on the fantastic green lanes we have here.

Lucky you, living up there. Great roads as well as the trails. I enjoyed the V-Strom a lot on the dirt. It's a few years since I rode a T7, but I think the two bikes are similar. From memory, the T7 sits taller in the seat than the Suzuki, but I had no issues with ground clearance or standing comfort on the Suzuki. I also think the Suzuki is better on the road. For the terrain we had on the day, I thought the Suzuki was great. Cheers, Tony
