What do you think about the Suzuki V-Strom SX? Will you buy it over the Rs 40,000 cheaper Gixxer 250, or the similarly priced Royal Enfield Himalayan? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Of course yes, even being built at the same platform, it brings a lot of changes along with it 1. Better high speed cruising, becuz of semi fairing & windshield 2. Comfortable Flat seats, when compared to slanted seats on Gixxer 250 & SF 250 3. Luggage space 4. More comfortable pillion seat 5. Looks, of course bigger the better. And last and most importantly, 6. The sitting traingle for the rider, A). It is an absolute mile munching machine B). someone above 30-35 yrs old, would always prefer this over regular gixxer
It is the kind of product i have been looking for, however I would have definitely bought if it weren't for the stiff suspension I want something as plush as Himalayan or at least RTR 200/fzs25 I loved G310 GS but that's completely out of budget, on road price is somehow manageable but the running and maintenance cost it demands is just too much.
Definitely the Himalayan. Suzuki got everything right except the suspension which is a deal breaker for me. I already have two Dukes which have 30 mm more suspension travel than the V-Strom. The other changes vis-a-vis the Gixxer add near-zero value to me.
Bottom line is: If you will spend most your time on the highway, get the V-Strom SX. If you want to ride off road a lot, get Himalayan. If you want the V-Strom SX but it's beyond your budget, get the Gixxer and it will do 85 percent of what the SX does. The price difference is not worth the changes. It should have been around 15k which would have helped undercut the competition too.
Indian roads and highways are like offroading tracks with heavy traffic. So it doesn't matter which commute this bike is for the suspension will want the owner to see a doctor. Himalyan is built as per Indian unworthy roads.
Reason to choose Himalayan : 1, plush setup 2, off road capabilities Reasons to choose SX 1, Refinement Better than competitions 2, effortless higher cruising speed 115~120kmph all day long 3, For most of us Ground clearance matters more than suspension travel so it can go offroading unless you do six feet jumps above ground, or ride like novice to bottom out at every bump. 4, Peace of mind,,, Service station only for regular service 4,
You don't need to do any jumps to need more suspension travel. I easily bottom out the front suspension of my 200 Duke on trails near me and it has 30 mm more travel than the V-Strom. If you go off road, the Himalayan is the obvious choice. If you don't, the V-Strom is the one to go for.
@@twowheeledparadox I said for Off.road purpose Himalayan 2nd point. But casual off road that is crawling over, V.storm can do it, although not at it's comfortzone.
@Karthik I ride 150cc & cruise at 100~105kmph, more than 50k on odo never had any issue ! I have tested GixxerSF250 115kmph is not a big deal !! . Can't say about other brands, like day before yesterday I rode 250cc from diff. brand & it was vibrating like hell even at 90-100kmph & what is point of comparing 650//twin @160kmph with 250cc @115kmph
Its strange though, Himalayan being so heavy provides plush suspension. And duke/vstorm being lighter provide stiff suspension. Why these two wheeler brands dont understand indian road conditions?
RE himalyan has worst look (my opinion).. may bike will give performance but if u don't like something then don't buy.. other side V Strom has stunning look .. better performance.. low maintenance... Price depends on ur thoughts .. it's manageable
Fair enough. But, the ride quality on the Himalayan is far better than the V-Strom SX. So, if you are ok with that, then the V-Strom makes a good case for itself.
@@BikeWaleOfficial got it bro ..m the 1st owner in bihar.. today took delivery n rode for 75 km. .. oh ..god wat a smooth engine it is n fun to ride this bike . ❣️ . No regret at all to choose over RE himalyan because I don't do much off road. 🥰.
@@rahulvikramaditya9911Hi man, I'm planning on buying this bike and to clarify I'm not an off roader 95% of times. What is you experience with this bike? Are you satisfied? Any negatives?
Geniniue review brother! Good to see your vidoes and detailed and great comments ! Quality of the video is top notch ! I own a 2016 model Classic 350. Planning to buy a new bike, so in search of many bikes which is comfortable for both rider and pillion (wife) and I finalised Himalayan ( i afraid what if same issues like my classic350) and V Storm 250. I had Domi400 also in list, I'm 5.7 height. I want to keep a bike for longer period, should be relaiable, to office, weekend touring, pillion seat comfort, milage, handling in all these suzuki has a tick mark. So I feel v storm is better bike. But still confusion because its 2.5L in coimbatore (hometown), lot of money ! Need a reliable bike that can stay with me for longer. Could you please show some light bro!
Pricing is the only big Negative point of this ADV, I think 1.99 Lakh price is some how justified. .......but with the Long suspension Travel & switchable ABS...
Can we replace or modify suspension? Anyone knows how much it costs? I took test ride of Vstorm and it was gr8. Suspension is really deal breaker for me too though :(
210 kgs vs 167 KG Japanese reliability vs Made like a gun Affordable services and spares vs overinflated brand factories Coming from a Gixxer 250 owner, trust me, it is THAT much better than the RE
Hi, I just wanted to say good review but when compared to the high torque of the scram 411 will the V-strom pull well with a 50 kg passenger and 15 to 17 kg luggage while touring more than 2000 km in a week? Would be really grateful for an honest answer as I am stuck between the scram and 250. Also, if you have a suggestion of your own would absolutely appreciate that. Btw I am just 5 ft 2 in. Also, a factor😅😅
How does it compare against the dominar 250. Since both are targeted at mostly on road touring, for someone on a budget is it better to go for the D250 and get some modifications like handlebar raisers and windscreen?
The dominor 250 is way heavy for a 250 cc bike gliding it in a traffic is a tough task whereas the mileage also drops due it's weight (28-32) but the pricing is on point compared to suzuki.. If you are on a tight budget then go for dominor.
@@Oye_Arvin I already own the d250. its not "way heavy". its a bit tough only at speeds below 8 10 kmph due to it being more front heavy. as for mileage, ridden sanely at city speeds i was even able to get 40 and generally hovers around 35-37. That said i really wish suzuki had priced this similar to the sf250 or even the naked one.
@@KishoreJatin Damn I am surprised about the mileage because I have never seen a dominor 250 user saying that they are getting mileage above 32-33kmph.
I do nt agree with reviewers gripes about the Brakes. Are they different "Feel"? Certainly, yes. That being said, I have a GSX250, and I have not had any issues with the braking. You DO adapt to this, and I am quite used to it, now. I personally, md not afraid of the Brakes.
On point. I have given the same feedback about ride quality. Everything else am fine with including the pricing but that stiff ride quality is a dealbreaker. Hopefully Suzuki improves it in a facelift
3 things missed . Larger fuel tank for touring, suspension travel and Switchable rear ABS. For the price asked , this much can be expected and that too for even sports adventure tourer. Not hardcore offroading but some decent travel should have been given If these are included in next update , I will be 1st person to buy
@@barun9665 12 is more than enough. Tank range comes to 450KM. I Did CHennai to Ladkah solo. Never faced any fear on range anywere. Bikes like KTM, RE which had larger tank had more frequent need of fuel fill than Gixxer.
EXCELLENT INFORMATION,CLEARITY OF ALL DETAILS WITH ITS RIVALS HIMALAYAN..WELL DONE SIR YOU EXTREMY FIT ATHELETE AS IS YOUR ELOQUENT EXPRESSION THANK LOVE ,RESPECT TO YOU,YOUR WONDERFUL TEAM BIKEWALE JINDABAD
Suzuki just can't accept their mistake for manufacturing their bikes on swing arm suspension with monoshock stiff as a rod. Certainly they require a new design and purchase team.
most disappointing effort from Suzuki India...did not even feel like going to show room just even to see, after years of waiting for (real) V-Storm 250....it seems worse than a fake one...bye bye...
