We were on the Balmoral, a relatively small cruise ship in this day and age with just over 1,000 guests. This intriguing one-off itinerary from Fred Olsen Cruise Lines left Edinburgh in Scotland, sailed up the coast of Norway crossing the Arctic Circle and then across to Spitsbergen in the Svalbard archipelago.

Thanks, your videos have been very interesting. I hadn't heard of Fred Olsen line in Australia so I'll look it up for future cruises along Norway. You are so right about Northern Lights and the funeral need to be flexible! I've done 2 expeditions with Adventure Canada in the North West passage between Canada and Greenland and gave experienced the joy (?@) of polar storms and floating pack ice on a much smaller ship. The wild beauty never fails to amaze.
