Svella makes mana rocks, and with great amounts of artifacts comes great combo potential. Peter attempts to build the ill-fated Gruul Artifacts deck with Svella at the helm, hoping to get infinite mana rocks and cast his entire deck.

A card I forgot to mention but is too good not to is Walking Ballista! It's an artifact, it has a CMC of 0 which means it's easy to return from the graveyard with Scrap Trawler, and it can win us the game with infinite mana by itself. I subbed it in for Mishra's Bauble after I recorded the episode, so you'll see it in the deck list. - Peter

Interesting. I'm also building around Svella, but focused more on lands than artifacts. I have a lot of "each player sacrifices x lands" like Ember Swallower and Keldon Firebombers, functionally making it so Svella and my other mana sources can run the deck landless. I also have land recovery though, like Conduit of Worlds.

I think Awakening would be a useful card to get more activations from Svella too

Wait but Collector Ouphe is all artifacts, not just opponents. So isn't it complete lockdown? So then you could really only win if you had a big enough board to go over every creature (assuming you don't want a 10 turns of nothing but combat).

Oh I see, yeah that’s my bad. Karn the Great Creator is what you really want.
