I actually really enjoy these underdog commanders. My favourite commander from the past year is easily Verazol, the split current. Was looking at this guy and wondering how to make him.
I don't see myself getting a Braid of Fire or a Blightsteel Colossus any time soon, but this still looks like a fun deck to brew with just the stuff I have in my collection.
I know it would be the unfun version, but what are your thoughts on Svella land destruction? Blow up lands, keep your rocks, and keep going while everyone else is trying to rebuild.
MLD is always a dangerous strategy. i had a guy cast Armageddon in a game once cause he was ahead. he was playing a bruna deck i believe. i responded with boros charm and all my lands were indestructible. needless to say i wone that game handily cause i was the only one with lands.
@@edhdeckbuilding So the idea I have is to get far ahead in mana rocks since Svella will be pumping them into play. Then drop a destroy all lands card in the late game to put myself in a position where I'm the only one with mana. I also have artifact/enchantment removal to get rid of my opponents' alternative mana sources.
I made this deck and I put huge creatures in it, I’m talking huge eldrazis and beasts. I also put in stuff like gratuitous violence and other cards like it in that deck to swing at someone and do like 60 damage. The second ability is expensive, but I cared more about the mana rocks and being able to play tons of stuff ahead of other players with that. You can use the second ability if you don’t really have spells you can use or want to hold on to, even if it doesn’t cost much you’re still getting something maybe four turns before you could. Still a great ability
