This is the best deck tech video I've seen about this commander. Straightforward, simple editing, great commentary that isn't abrasive or annoying. 10/10 man, seriously

It doesn't seem like Primal Wellspring or Pyromancer's Goggles cause Veyran to trigger. Both are triggered by "spending the mana". I could be wrong but I initially thought Veyran should double the copies too.

But it works for Primal Amulet that you can only cast 2 sorc or inst to transform into Primal Wellspring and Pryromancer's Goggles is very good in every red spellslinger deck.

That last build he mentioned is my burn deck, totally recommend, it's gross how much dmg you can pump out if you can get set up. Literally had a game where another person was going off and I suddenly realized "oh, I can just kill everybody" said it out loud as well! It was hilarious

Nice decklist, I'm trying a veyran decklist too but something more pure storm and a little of chaos, with possibility storm and eye of the storm. A lot of fun and by my experience so far you dont need resevor, just a guttersnipe efect will melt the life totals. Great video!

I've been wanting to make a izzet spellslinger deck for a while but struggled because of how much my group focuses to much on the combat step. Veyran finally gives me a reason too. The precon itself is ok. But while waiting for cards this week. I just upgraded it slightly with stuff I had laying around. Nothing crazy And man this deck just explodes turn 4-5. And can really keep its wheels going long after you've tapped out. And I love that veyran can actually be relevant during combat as well. She has the ability to to nuke a player out of nowhere.

I suggest trying a 'Comet Storm' as a win-con in the deck, it's as nice as the dominance, but can kill all your enemies at once

Awesome tech man!!! no love for TURNABOUT? It's is soooo good here, it combo's with, Primal and Reversal, thousand year storm and reversal, reiterate, nivix guildmage and about 100 other convoluted combos and has saved me defensively countless times. You know, that "Before you go to combat" clause, =P.

Minor correction on Aria of Flame. On your first cast, you’d be doing 3 total damage, because Veyran’s wording is that the ability triggers again. First trigger would add 1 verse counter, dealing one damage. Second trigger would add a second counter, dealing 2 more damage. In my Veyran deck, I have almost all of the stuff you posted here, but I also have stuff like Apex of Power and Time Warp as pseudo-wincons. If you’re not winning after taking 5 extra turns with a copied time warp, you’re doing it wrong.

I already play storm too much in my group, so I'm gearing more towards a triggered-wizards theme. I love storm though, and will definitely include some things mentioned here. Sweet deck tech!

This is my absolute favorite deck. Mizzix ends the game every time I've cast it. Even early. A game on Wednesday I only had 6 spells in GY. 2 aetherflux shots and grapeshot to finish the 3rd. Deck is soooo much fun. Great tech! I don't even have a copy of Thousand Year Storm yet.

Baral is better then electromancer in my opinion. Just because of the mana cost. The counter spell synergy is just a bonus

It's objectively better, the only reason to use electromancer instead is baral's price.

Have you tried running a “Surge to victory” engine? I think it does fit Veyran nicely and gets nutty when you have more than 3 copies going off

It's nice, but it fits better a token Veyran build. You need a docent and/or a Talrand for it to work properly as redundant effects against players who ping down your pyromancer.

Maybe better in Boros with team double strike? I really like the card but it depends what you have in your yard and if it's gonna make them swole enough. White/red boardwiped are usually 5+ Mana and so yeah.

I just did my first play test with a Veyran deck and... OH MY GOD. My Dual Caster Mage just copied a Surge to Victory (exiling Treasure Cruise and Mind's Desire for +14/+0) while my Rionya Fire Dancer just put 9 Storm Kiln Artists AND (thanks to Radiant Performer) 9 Erratic Cyclopes into play. So when any of these 18 creatures deals combat damage I get to play Treasures Cruise and Mind's Desire again. Yay...

Birgi is amazing but I feel like the other side is under rated. If you have storm kiln artist out you can basically turn through your entire deck with the other side. At least if I’ve read it correctly. Can you just continuously discard a card then have access to casting 2 cards ?

I'm curious if you have any recorded gameplay with this version. I've built the more cantrip focused version that puts in all the red cantrips like Crimson Wisps and I don't really have any large X spells at all, mostly winning with pingers like guttersnipe. It just seems like the amount of cantrips is kinda low to get the storm count really high so I'm curious to see your version in action.
