I have had mine for over a week and all I can say is what an amp! Drives my speakers just wonderfully. Swapped out a 3 way AVR and don't miss the center at all. I tried an AVR and my wife could not stand the size and placing it on top of the console. Tried a Wiim Amp and it just did not have to power to drive my speakers, tried the SVS Soundbase and the rest is history. Streaming with Play-Fi is sometimes fickle but, the way this amp sounds it just hits it right out of the park. Minor quibble is that if I stream I need to make sure I hit the HDMI input on the remote so that my wife can turn on the TV with no issues. That is really the minor quibbles. It has a few, but as I said you listen to this and the form factor and you are in disbelief. I am happy and my wife is happy. Don't always get that with audio.
Really nice video 🙏 Quick question, Can the soundbase connect automatically to wireless speaker by itself or do you have to use the Play-Fi app everytime I'm thinking about using this for my turntable to steam to a set of HomePod and if we can `pre-set` the output without having to use the phone everytime it will be awesome. I wondered why the box was bulging when I saw you raise it - that HDMI is a nice little gift :D. I still recall when SVS was a brand new business and calling from Australia to speak with the owner/engineer about sub design and such (I was reviewing gear in those days of old school forums). The company has grown enormously and it's nice to see some of those personable traits remain :D

No one has answered it because they don’t provide that spec on their website. They only provide spec for 4 ohms. Power Amp: 300 watts RMS (150 watts x 2 into 4ohm)
I ended up with the Sonos Amp just because of the Sonos App vs PlayFi. Its powering Arendal 1961 monitors well. Love SVS though as my theater room is all their Ultra speakers.
are you happy with the Sono amp or are you contemplating getting the SVS soundbase? I'm a audio and home theater junkie and i'm always looking for the next best thing within reason.
@@xsonicpunkx Sonos has been working great as I now have two of them in my house. The other powers a set of speakers for the patio. Zero issues with either of them and they sound great.

how do you turn this thing off.... There is no off button on the device, not on the remote, not in play-fi. If you pause music, it will stay on FOREVER. The only way I've managed to get it into standby mode is with ARC, I have to turn on my tv, set the soundbase to hdmi, then turn off the tv, that puts it into standby mode. Is there really no other way?
I have four ceiling speakers and two outdoor speakers, and I'm searching for an amplifier or receiver that can efficiently power them all. I need it to have a 2 zone feature so that I can play the indoor and outdoor speakers separately or together. Please suggest some suitable options for listening to music only, not for home theater use?. Thank you

How would you control base/treble when utilizing HDMI ARC from a Samsung 4K QLED TV? I have mine hooked up however, the setting on the TV have to be set PCM, not allowing any tonal adjustments.
You can’t from what I’m learning about this unit. But have that option to add a subwoofer 🔊 to it is great. Maybe adding the Micro 3000 or Sb-2000 pro or even the entry level SB-1000 pro
@@victorvalenzuela6949 I am using two SVS PC-2000 Pros in this room, Cylindrical Subs. I switched out the KEF Q350 speakers to the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-600M II, that resolved my High Frequency issues I was having with the KEFs, sounds great now.
Where can I find the detailed amp spec comparison of the 2 products mentioned? I cannot find 4 ohm specs for the Powernode and vice versa for the SVS where I cannot find 8 ohm specs. Have you tried the Powernode? On paper they seem to offer different features but both do not list much on their amp sections.
The SB will run anything you have in the house with ease, it is surprisingly powerful. It handled the SVS Ultras I used to won with ease, and works flawlessly with my KLH Model 5's. I own the first SB, and from what I have read, they are using the same amp architecture in the new model. The Model 5's dip into the 3 ohm territory.
I just bought during holidays for my music/studio room. Super happy with sound and ease of use. I have Q150 KEF speakers with them. Great combination. Thanks for great review. Just validates my purchase more. Thinking my master bedroom next with an additional one.
Send that device back to SVS and get yourself a wiim mini for 80bucks and connect it to your amp. Does everything that bluesound does just connect an amp and speaker. BTW the wiim has FULL multiband eq! Roon endpoint, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Airplay, Alexa, Siri, Google, Chromecast audio etc and many many more. In fact i challenge you to find a streamer that does what this does and also issues a software roadmap for bugs and upcoming features. You can add your own DAC, supports bluetooth 5.2. You can group units together around your house for synced multiroom audio. It goes on and on. And yes $80! The pro version adds ethernet and RCA. This little thing can also function as a basic preamp. Total gamechanger product. 24bit 192khz gapless audio......MQA
@Youthman, what do you think of the RF7s after owning a while? I'm looking at adding them to my theater because I'm looking for a larger sound to fill my long open Floorplan basement theater. Would you still recommend them or any alternatives? Ideally I wanted in walls to avoid the wife's eyes, so I'm also looking at the Klipsch THX line but not sure it will produce sound as large as the RF7. Thank you!
Absolutely recommend the RF7 III’s. There is a reason they have remained in my living room setup for the past 4 years. They make killer Home Theater speakers. Unfortunately I do not think in wall speakers will be able to compare to them. They have a mass of 1.75 inch compression driver, and dual 10” woofers.

I have the last gen model. it's a great little amp, but the DTS Play-Fi on it is awful! Always losing connectivity to it.... Only way to fix it is to unplug it for 5 mins. and plug it back in and wait another few mins to reconnect.
I have the original SB, glad to finally see this update! Been waiting for well over a year since it was first announced. I just hope the Play-Fi app issues have been addressed, very buggy with my SB, so much so, I bought a $10 Erskin BT adapter to stream from my phone and other devices. But, that being said, this would work perfectly in a two channel setup with the TV as YM is doing.
Why would a company famous for its subs make this amazing product and NOT give it bass management? For that matter, In 2024, why would ANY amp with a sub output not have bass management! Nearly bought it as assumed they would have it covered. Good job I did a last minute check. A deal breaker.
Convenience factor is phenomenal, especially with Chromecast and Airplay 2. Ultimately decided to go with a budget Aiyima T9 Pro amp for a fraction of the Soundbase's price, but I think this is great for a lot of people who want power and wireless streaming all in one. I wish I could compare the sound quality of this side by side with other good amps from Rotel, Marantz, NAD, and Cambridge (there are some youtube channels that will compare them one after another with great reference speakers like KEF LS50 Meta).
@youthman besides Avr’s atmos setup.. that’s more made for movies… are there any music focused amp’s that do atmos music great!! i know atmos music is new and people will say 2 channel is the true way of listening… but some songs on atmos is truly a experience… so i’m wondering are there any atmos music based hardware yet.. thank you
Thank you for pointing out the need for tone controls or a loudness contour button for low volume listening. Animals have made it difficult for manufacturers to do this as an abuser can greatly shorten the life of equipment when using these features (primarily bass boost) at high volume levels. You'll note that a majority of companies that make quality 2 channel integrated amps omit any tone controls. It's frustrating, as it is an absolute fact that human hearing is not linear, we don't hear low and high frequencies as well at lower and medium volumes. Having sold equipment I've experienced customers that destroy it, and usually, no amount of explaining will result in a happy conclusion. We learned to be careful and get a thorough understanding of what type of music will be played and at what volumes.
I will do that to determine if I’m keeping the Acurus or selling it. My guess is it’s not going to make much (if any) difference as you need twice the power to gain 3dB in volume.
Nice product. I know several people who want a "less is more" sized box for better sound than the TV speakers or soundbar. You mentioned almost too casually that out of all the hundreds of products that you've listened to and reviewed that you chose to put your hard earned dollars into this one. High praise indeed for the SVS Soundbase Pro.
I own the first SoundBase, and it sounds fantastic, nice to see the remote! The only complaint I have with mine is Play-Fi, it rarely ever connects, so I use a $10 Erskin Bluetooth receiver to stream from my phone.
Please don't place items on top of your beautiful Klipsch RF7 III's. That's just not right. And please add a sub to your 2 channel system. Don't turn up the base on your speakers, use a sub. My SVS SB16 is amazing with 2 channel stereo music with my cherry wood Klipsch RF7 III's. I would not live without an external sub. SVS is heading in the right direction with this amplifier. It needs treble & base controls. The ultimate goal is to use it for both music and home theater 2.1 system. How is the sound quality of the DAC? It could use more inputs and outputs for other devices.
I have (4) 18’s in the theater room and it sounds great for 2ch and home theater. This system is for watching TV with the wife in the living room. I don’t need a sub in there.

But yet you have a basic amateur stereo set up No testing No installations No IP skills No knowledge of setting up a system other then arc Basically catfishing
Over the past four years, I have reviewed products of all budgets in over 650 videos from a consumers perspective. I’m not an engineer, an audiophile nor do I claim to be “the authority” when it comes to Home Theater and HiFi. Regarding only HiFi gear, there are actually very few high end products I have reviewed over the past 4 years. The most expensive product I have reviewed was a $12,000 pair of Sonus Faber speakers. Although that is quite expensive for me, some would consider that budget friendly as there are 2ch systems that exceed well over $100,000 for speakers alone. Most of my reviews have been of Klipsch, SVS, KLH, OSD, Polk Audio, Monoprice, all of which have very budget friendly products.
@@Youthman Once I got my studio and moved my theater stuff there, the purpose built room that it was in became another family room and I left our 77” LG C9 in there, so I got a Sonos Arc, two subs, and a pair of the Ones for a little surround system in there and I really fell in love with a lot of the way Sonos does stuff and I do like being able to do room correction with it as well as adjust EQ, levels, etc. Thankfully the Sonos Amp allows those same controls. I really love their Trueplay…it does more than I expected it would. We have the Beam Gen 2 and Sub Mini in our Living Room connected to our 65” LG C1. I’ve tried some WiSA stuff and it wasn’t what I was hoping it would be, but I feel like Sonos could step it and make another splash if they allowed true LCRs in their setups.
@@Youthman For what it is/supposed to be (basic consumer product) I feel it’s pretty solid. It’s still “too much” for my wife, but she likes that she never has to mess with it and can just use the Apple TV remote in our Living Room, Family Room, guest room, and bedroom to control what she wants to watch/listen to.
