That train scene where the little kid is serving him water, that was so impactful, I still can't get over it.

He proceeds to give 5rs without taking anything return in change That scene hit the right spots because previous to that scene he had always carried a bisleri mineral water everywhere he went, great amount of detailing was put into that scene for it to be that impactful

@@gouravtaparia Hum Tum was not a bad movie. You are right. Bur the acting of SRK was much deeper than Saif Ali Khan's in it. Don't get me wrong. Saif is a great actor, but SRK did an outstanding job. The acting of Saif was not extraordinary like SRK's in the movie. SRK in Swades was on a different level

The train scene was one of my best scenes, the small boy was selling water for 5 bucks, and SRK before that only had mineral water from bottle, but at that moment he changed. That scene still brings tears in my eyes

2004 was year of Srk Main hoon na , veer zaara, and swades was his major releases Unfortunately swades didn't do well it was released one month after veer zaara and people prefered veer zaara over swades

So insanely happy that you watched this movie. I wish I had the words to express what this movie means to so many people I'm sure. Musically this movie was just divine. The music and the words, especially the title track, rips my heart out. A friend of mine once warned me never to watch this movie when living away from India, and he was right - that song totally fucked me up and I think it drove me to come back home. Also, sidebar// there's a really cool story behind how Rahman composed that title song "yeh jo des hai tera".

I thought the same when I first saw the movie. I was kind of upset by the ending. I couldn't believe at all that he quit his job at NASA to live in his village doing who knows what. I know he brought light to the village but I felt like he's clearly a person who needs be be intellectually challenged. I don't know how I'd feel about it now. I haven't rewatched it

He didn't return to stay in the village. When his friends asked what he planned to do when he returned to India he mentioned working for the Vikram Sarabhai space centre, which is in a major Indian city so it wasn't a huge jump for him professionally. He would still work with a space agency.

So a scientist with a fancy US job coming back to India did happen even before the film and that actually served as the inspiration for the film... And after watching this film, a lot of Indians working abroad got inspired to quit their jobs and came back to India... This is why Swades became the cult that it is...

If you have read Gandhi and watched this movie closely, so, you will know that this movie is highly inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's life. How he left his good life as a barrister in a foreign land. Returns to India, takes a train journey. How a clothless lady during his journey motivates him to work for the betterment of the country and the society.

Mailman or Postman is one of the most lovable character and it's played by Rajesh Vievk. Unfortunately he passed away in 2016.

bruh, you will love " KAL HO NA HO" movie. SRK nailed his performance, Saif and Preity did great too.

That scene when he goes to their house and see their life situation !!! One of the few scenes in Bollywood which has an impact on many lives in the theatre

I'm not a fan of SRK and his movies but there are particular films where he knocked it out park. Some of them: My name is Khan. (His best movie imo.) Chak de India Swades Devdas Raees Dil Se Kabhi haa kabhi na Baazigar Veer Zara Jab Harry met Sejal (The film was average but Srk killed it) Kal Ho Na Ho

Never a srk fan but i liked his 2 movies swades and kabhi haa kabhi naa and give credit to director of film ashutosh gowariker and kundan shah with nice story line

The only film you have seen with srk's border line cheese is om shanti om..but others fan raees my name is khan chak de swades all are top notch perfection
