Hey, I'm from Australia. I really struggle to find legitimate sources of information for this stuff, I want you ALL to know that this is appreciated beyond the capacity of the words at my disposal. I'll be grateful for many lifetimes to come as I'm sure will many others, please continue to upload as much content as you can on as many subjects as you can, a lot of people have no access to this information.
Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allah, then verily both would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! @@chachmemon3820 You guys are praying to the Brahman the source of it all? Nice no matter what you call it. But maybe stop forcing people to pray to the brahman (the one) and lets them decide their own destiny.
Chach Memon if there was only Allah then why did he create me not even to know his name but to know someone else as my creator? Did Allah not create me then ? Someone else did ? Then that someone is my ultimate truth and my ruling power ? It is not only me but more than billion people who don’t know the god by the name “Allah”. Where do they come from and where do they go?If Allah did create me then he is the reason why I know him by some other name isn’t it ? You only decide if he is the one or he is the many. You decide if “your Allah” created all these non believers or there are other gods doing this mischief.
I read or listen to The Upanishads Every night- The whole way through... I have most glorious The Bhagavad Gita And I read or listen to that 4-5 times a week Plus the Dhamapada The Bible Collective Sufi works.. Believe it or not- They are all better than “The Bachelor “ I don’t own television I invest that time in my soul- 🙏🏻🕉 As much as I love my Bible- The Upanishads will open your heart The Bhagavad Gita will open your mind. Together, they will set you on the path of Joy. I never knew how to truly WORSHIP- Until I began to study The Upanishads and The Bhagavad Gita.. Both saved my life- That is no joke- I taught Sunday School for 2/3rd and 4th/5th grade for 5 years.. I often used the wisdom from The Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (My “it is salt” quote - being from my favorite Upanishad- you’ll have to listen or read to find it) Children EASILY understood the teaching and the unity - of how it could be so. So any Christian faith followers not certain if it’s “okay” to read and listen to The Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Dhamapada, THE KYBALION I love them all. But If I had to choose one to be on a Desert Island, alone, forever The Upanishads, hands down. You’ll be a better whatever you are now, after, for your efforts. Thank you for this offering of wisdom Hari Ōm Tat Sat 🙏🏻🙏🏻
There have been enlightened people like the Swami for thousands of years, but now we have access to these wise people like no time in human history- I feel so grateful - hopefully this can move our species in the right direction - love and compassion to all 💕❤️💕
When Swami mentioned Dave Chalmers, I was brought back old memories. Dave and I were contemporary graduate students at Indiana University (Bloomington) over 30 years ago. I was in the Mathematics doctoral program, he was in the doctoral program in Cognitive Sciences under thesis advisor Doug Hofstader (Godel Esher Bach … a brilliant book on mathematical logic, Art and Music). Dave was a math PhD student under Michael Atiyah at Oxford, when he dumped it to come to IU. The bottom line from my perspective is: After being a committed mathematician for the last 30 years, I have concluded that all of science is relatively shallow compared to questions that were posed in ancient Indian texts and answered in a very logical and precise way. Some of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century … Andre Weil, Armand Borel both at IAS (Princeton) had a deep interest in Vedanta
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'an) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (Al-Hijr 15:9) Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wa-inna lahu lahafithoona
i t's a rainy dull grey Friday here in the UK and I came home from a very frustrating week at work to discover this wonderful talk. I soooo needed to hear that I am not just this little body and mind as well of the rest of the talk also. Thanks so much. Greatly appreciated. :)
@101 wierdfish: I agree. I 'discovered' this just like you, except where I am it's high and dry (Arizona!) .............also, I've realized through these talks that what others say about you (or me) has completely no bearing. We must try our best to reflect a lot on our own selves, and find the truth within. Peace, and stay blessed!
Shovelware What i have said has filled your mind with bitterness. You must give nobody the power to fukk your peace, least of all a random guy on youtube. Make your life rewarding and interesting, then you wouldn't really care about anonymous comments. Git a life dude
Shovelware You may not say the same about me because... Your rants didn't push my buttons. My expression didn't get bitter, I can just as easily ignore you. I would have made a difference to the world if you obey me and stop going about YT like a touchy puss with low self esteem. It will do you good.
Namaste Swamiji, I was the personal secretary for Prof. Christof Koch for 17 years while he was at the California Institute of Technology from 1987-2004, after which he went to the Allen Institute in Seattle. At Caltech, he was a materialist regarding consciousness generated by the brain and its attention. I have heard you mention his name twice so far in your online talks. Such a brilliant person, I can only hope that he may have read the Upanishads and found the Truth of what he really IS.
I live in America where Swamiji is based out of, and sadly missed his tour in my city recently. I really hope to meet him and seek his blessings in person some day.
I have been listening to Swamiji nonstop since discovering him on BATGAP about six months ago. I've been having the same response to his voice: it lifts me to a higher place instantly.
I'm from Australia also & just love listening to talks by this Swami. Love his talks equally on the Upanishads & Sri Ramakrishna. I was first drawn to the Upanishads over 50 years ago & after a lifetime of diverse spiritual input, am back now at the beginning! How wonderful! I am so grateful. Thank you so much for posting these inspiring & uplifting talks. I listen to them every day, 🙏🌟 🧡 .
C Padman Yes. It is a hard problem for materialist scientists but not for vedantic yogis. Scientists are looking for it at wrong place they think that it is a product of brain and they cannot prove that in anyway because consciousness cannot be seen or measured.
After reading and trying to study the Bhagavad Gita and the Biblp. I still had fundamental questions remaining, in fact the more I read it became evident that the less l knew. I opened the svetasvatara upanishad and it start in chapter one verse 1 with questions that reflect perfectly where l am currently at in my search. All is possible with the wealth of the Vedas offering the answers. Thank you Swami Saravapriyananda. Eternally grateful to you.
Excellent talk and insight. Swamiji's talks should be spread among more and more people. I am so fortunate to have come across Swamijis talks. Koti koti pranaam Swamiji.
I honor your spirit by listening to the wisdom flowing from your heart. I honor the Spirit in all by understanding your lecture. I honor the spirit within myself by integrating them into my life. Thank you for being available to all on this platform.
I think the last question was a very good question and it was more of a "how" question than "what". I request Swamiji to give a talk on actually walking the talk for people engaged in materialistic world. Ways of to achieve realization for materialistic people like us. I have felt thoughts are result of mind focus shifting, so to my friend who asked the question, whatever work you do for living , consider it as a lake and drown yourself in that work which in turn will leave no scope of unnecessary thoughts. It needs to be done without any expectation , you root yourself in the work and do it. Bhagvad Geeta will help you here," karm mein akarma aur akarma mein karm."
Excellent Lecture Swami. You explain such deep meaning words in Upanishads to western audience with such Beautiful words. It's really divine to hear from you. Thank you and love you swami.
Fantastic! Reminds Swami Vivekananda's observation on Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose. Praying for longer life to learn more. Time wasted is being lamented!
So wonderful to delve deeper into advaita Vedanta - made all the more possible - in this clear exposition by Swamiji. Other spiritual pursuits are ordered and given meaning that this listener did not have prior to this talk. Upanishad as the title did pique curiosity - very grateful for his efforts. Namaste and Aloha...
Thank you Swami and thank God. Your answers to the last question answers to the questions I am struggling with... Let me try to be witness and fill the mind space with thought of God... hope the mind space is evacuated of all negative thoughts by these positive god centred thoughts:-)
If thou art I, and we art the, then I meet thou soon in Canberra Australia. This unimaginable, unplanned possibility out of infinite ones should happen to prove it to I, as I art thou and we are the. Thus I and my desire should matter.
The description in the Upanishada allign with the mysterious unfolding of my reality before I had even heard of the Upanishads and now I use the Upanishads as if it was written by my soul before I was an illusory individual. When I dream it's as if the Upanishads are visually narrating and designing the dream state. Last night Swami was in my headphones and present in his egoic character in my dream and the interactions were being commented on by him in this video as if my dream and the video were live and happening now as they really are. This is not the first time the dream state has been a teaching ground involving RU-vid narratora while I sleep. I know I should be recording all of this development in consciousness but I just don't care to because I'm just trying to keep this character "me" warm enough to stay alive at night. It's interesting that's for sure.
Pranams to your lotus feet swamiji. I have seen people experiencing miracles as they believe god. Then i just wonder how are these miracles taken place. Does god manifest in the outerform ? How is this contradictory with seeing god as inner existence.
this is my first class on intro to upanishads...1. vedantic defination/ classification of religion & convergence: end point was that there is limitedness to self being a physical being & there is infinitude to faith/ god & upanishads emerge the two and say u are limited because u are physical & at the same time unlimited because you are god....why do say that & feel thats the right conclusion? 2. on consciusness : says u are not body , u are not mind and there is something more than senses which is consciousness / atman/divinity etc ...a feeling that one is seperate from all this....i see no divinity in humans and is the most destructive creature ....all this knowledge has been existing but why hasnt it been used to become divine... not that attempts werent made by humans & religions....may be thats not the answer as the same questions remain since time immemorial only giving hope
Please...Swami Sarvapriyananda.. I have a doubt.. I hope you would clear me.. I am a man pursuing spirituality and vowed a celibate life.. I know meditating armed with yoga I can reach heights unimagined. I love Krishna and have deep deep love and respect for him. He states in the Bhagvad Gita that ''I am the supreme lord and even Brahman is subordinate to me'' What is your thought on that?.. Maybe Krishna is the purusha? or did Bhaktivedanta twist the Gita?... what are your thoughts.. Please like this comment for him to view...
Here krishna says about Brahma not Brahman. Both are entirely different. Brahma is the creater one of the Hindu trinity. But Brahman is universal consciousness from which Hindu trinity originated through Maya. Donot confuse with the words Brahma and Brahman.
49:00 david bentley hart is the name of the eastern theologian for those interested - hes engaged in a number of interfaith dialogues elsewhere as well.
Need clarification, "If she does not willingly yield her body to him, he should buy her with presents. If she is still unyielding, he should strike her with a stick or with his hand and overcome her, repeating the following mantra: "With power and glory I take away your glory." Brihadaarnyaka Upanishad 6.4.7.
As u can never see your back similarly the activities done by other religions can never be understood by u. Our upanishads never point out about other religion. How can u tell like this sir?? My humble request to go through the feeling of upanishads . Regards
In another talk, Swamiji said that the Brahman cannot be known as it is not an object. The mind, the body, the senses, the breath can be studied and known as objects. But not the Brahman. He had explained that in great detail and reasonable steps. Now, I am confused.
