Back in the day (1968 ) that is just how those bikes started in the cold of winter . I had to park mine next to the wood stove for a spell and she would start right up . Heating the champion plugs helped to. Harley plugs are made by Champion .

Glad you're working out its parts and procedures, this chopper has a great stance but the rear fender needs work to match the rest, keep going I want to see how it ends up.

With a adjustable mag base you would be able to advance the timing after your cold start.

I am with the others, this felt like a victory even if not my bike. Good job. As for a thought on what made it work.. I think it was the timing needed to be retarded more... BUT from the mag tear down it is very clear that you increased the life of the mag with the clean up.. and there is nothing wrong with adding in the new coil and condenser. Hahaha! I would not suggest adding the old parts back.. Sometimes it is worth just knowing it works.. IE if it works, don't touch it!! Anyways good job again!!!

Now figure out ur starting procedure. 3 or 4 primes then kick w power on. Half choke. Figure out wat she likes then stick to it. Once warm should fire rite up. Good luck she sounds awesome 👍

Why is it puking oil?

On the magneto does it matter where the plug wires go ? Or because both wires spark at same time just put them wherever?
