Hey, you forgot a few things like cam and breather gear clearance. loosen the pushrods to take pressure of the cam chest when ever you are taking covers off and on you can cause damage. you will need the lifer blocks out in order to check cam clearance.

If you don't know much about the motor I would at least adjust the valves, check cam timing and do a compression check. If all else Fales install the stock ignition get it started and running good THEN reinstall the mag. ignition. Eliminates a lot of guesswork and headaches.

I like your videos but your music it's not that great. Sometimes it's really loud and sometimes I can't even hear you talk and then other times it's quiet and I can hear you talk perfect. That's the only fault I would find what your whole video is the music

Hey thanks for the feedback! Definitely constantly battling the musics especially on these first couple videos. I hope that problem has gotten better since this video. I do make all of the music and am aiming to make less distracting music that plays fine in the background so feedback like this helps a lot!

Just skip the music completely. Would have like to know why you were modifying the mag but you had no explanation just the annoying music

Just the bolt on install and no info on the timing and setting up the mag,? That is what needs to be shown not how to turn in a couple screws and set it on the base.

I will be retiming the magneto on this Shovelhead, if you’d like I can make a more in depth video of that process. In this video i was figuring it out myself, but will gladly film the process!

Awesome! What do you have? Haha maybe you can help me with timing 😂 can’t get this Shovelhead properly timed. Got it to shoot a fireball but that’s about it

@@947w0rks Find the motors TDC for the front cylinder. Install the mag so the front cyl lobe on the mag is close to opening the points. turn the mag until the points just start to open on that lobe. I use a mag timing box with light to show when they just start to open lock it down. Some old-timers use cigarette paper in the points and when it just can be pulled out lock the mag down. Check Goggle for more info though. Right now my magneto bikes are a 50 panhead and a stock 68 Sportster. Have had a couple Shovels with mags though.

@@947w0rks Oh,The 50 has a Morris magneto and the 68 has the Stock mag.
