Got some of my favorite things into this video. McAfee Knob, DD X-Mid tent (LOVE my x-mid), and even slipped in some Eddie Vedder from the Into the Wild soundtrack, my favorite album. Those flies, though! I would have gone crazy without a head net.

I agree with Motivated by Mountains. I lived in Virginia Beach for a while and would take a week off for Thanksgiving and do 100 mile sections on the Appalachian Trail. Loved Damascus. Mountains were great for cleansing the spirit and the mind.
Oh my goodness I am so blessed and so thankful to all the volunteers rangers and backpackers like you guys that take care of the places we hike. I've said it many times, you can hike for weeks in the Sierras and never find a piece of trash...certainly not a piece intentionally left. It's such a pleasure to have a place thats just too much trouble for people like those that would leave their trash to get to. thanks for doing your (and their) part.
Bryce, that windshirt was a life saver. Mine is my most often worn piece of clothing on trail, aside from compression shorts (to minimize chaffing) and my zip-off pants. I often wear it on cool summer mornings on its own as a shirt. I'm surprised at how many distance hikers don't want to carry that extra 2-6 ozs. of weight, forcing them to sweat their arses off to defend against biting insects, or bathe themselves in Deet or Picardin. I even carry bug pants in the summer to wear over my shorts, and, yes, a bug jacket and headnet, too! Not ultralight, but worth every ounce for the sake of sanity! Thanks for the video. I hiked the AT Triple Crown three years ago in the fall. The colors of the leaves added to the beauty. 👍👍
Loved this, I just had a similar weekend here in Australia over the Easter weekend. 3 Days cool fog and rain, perfect temperatures for hiking. (No flies, we did find a few leeches though) Oh, and I was the one with a chair - oh yeah 😎
We actually didn't run any. Haha. But when your in a downpour you tend to just put your head down and get it. And honestly I only set up a few shots on this video. Really slacked on this one.
Another great video Bryce. I will definitely take the trail trash advice to heart, and start picking up a few pieces. I'll admit that I've passed up litter because I've always felt that it was too overwhelming to take it all. I never considered that it got there incrementally and can be cleaned up incrementally as well.
@@BryceNewbold I remember we had a deer get spooked only like 3 feet from us coming down from mcafee at night. Scared the bejebezz out of me. Yeah those gnats are no joke.
Nice video and edit man! I soloed this loop in the fall of 2020 and it was pretty cool but a little underwhelming in my opinion. No regrets just check this one off the list and move on🤙 kudos to motivated by mountains for picking up trash🤘
