Grazie mille Swarovski

I chose the 10x25 Swarovskis. They are just as bright and sharp but with the extra reach. Not for everyone but perfect for me. My wife has the Swarovski 10x32. These are beyond amazing and the best I have ever used, but I prefer the compactness of the x25s.

Sorry but in optics there is no free lunch. 10x25 has a 2.5 mm exit pupil vs. 8x25 3.1 mm. That means 8x25 has a larger field of view and during the dimmer light situations when your pupil is larger than 2.5 mm, they will be brighter. They are also slightly easier to view when unstable like on a boat.

Shawn 3006 Design, quality, components and coatings also play a part in light transmission. I can assure you my Swarovski 10x25 binoculars are considerably brighter than either of my Opticron and Minolta 8x25 binoculars.

My opinion: the Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25 is even an bit better than the Swarovski CL Pocket 8x25. Tried them both extensively and finally bought the Zeiss.

Swarovski CL 8x25 has excellent eye relief for use with eyeglasses. Does the Zeiss work as good as the Swarovski with eyeglasses?
@kayasper6081
@kayasper6081 5 месяцев назад
@@patricj951 Yes, it does. My sight isn't very good, so I pretty much depend on my glasses. However, despite the glasses, I prefer the eye cups of the Zeiss even slighty extended. It offers loads of eye relief. Another detail: without glasses (dioptric - 5,5), with the 8x25 Leica Ultravid, I can't even focus. With the Zeiss that it is very easy; with or without glasses. I am not sure about the Swarovski, I forgot to test that aspect when I had them.
@patricj951
@patricj951 5 месяцев назад
@@kayasper6081 Thanks! I wonder because the Zeiss has wider field of view and at the pictures it's noticeable that the eye lens is more recessed from the eye cup. Which seems to show that they should not work as good as the Swaro. And this means Victory 8x25 has more useful eye relief than Terra 8x25, which is not as good as neither Curio 7x21 or CL 8x25.

In january 2021 Swarovski has released a new version of the pocket, with New ergonomics and adding the cover for the lenses.

Leica Silverline 8x20 - smaller and more stylish.

Leica comes in 8×20s, not 8×25.....these are better glasses but are they worth the very slight larger size and cost? I think they are. But who can have just one?! Lol
@Sergey_Sergeev
@Sergey_Sergeev 3 года назад
@point_break Not the Zeiss 8x25 Victory Pocket. They are made in Japan. Concerning the ergonomics (one hinge design), the wide of the field of view (60°), the eye relief and the very sharp optics, they are better, than Swarovski and Leica.

This or Curio 7x21?
@patricj951
@patricj951 5 месяцев назад
They are optically very similar. Very much the same brightness and eye relief. 7x21 is significantly lighter and more compact. But 8x25 is more comfortable in the hands because it fills up the hands better. Curio unfortunately is slippery, which can be solved by attaching some friction tape, though. As I see it the deciding factor is how compact you want the binocular to be. 7x21 will fit in some pockets when 8x25 does not. I am interested in getting some of these but have not yet decided which one.

@@patricj951 I agree the curio is more compact and lighter. But i think Swarovski CL Pocket and Zeiss VP is better for bird watching and deer wachting in forests and lowlight conditions?
@patricj951
@patricj951 5 месяцев назад
@@s.d.r1062 You will hardly notice a difference in brightness between these three models. 8x wins if you want to see details during all conditions. For me it's important that I can get full open view of entire field of view with eyeglasses. Both CL Curio 7x21 and CL 8x25 work great for me. I have not yet tried Zeiss Victory 8x25, though. And while I am not a fan of double hinge design because it feels a bit more complicated(and I think they use to have more problem with focuser play), the uncentered hinge of Zeiss Victory feels a bit odd. Maybe I would get used to it?
@s.d.r1062
@s.d.r1062 5 месяцев назад
@@patricj951 dont you think x25 will do better in lowlight conditions than x21? I love the ergonomics of the Zeiss VP. My hands will rest on that asemectric bridge. Using focus wheel is easy from this position. That bridge makes it less compact when you keep in pocket. Thats for sure
