If that's a 2.4L Theta, that's not surprising. Even if the oil has been changed more recently, they are known for sludging and excessive oil consumption. Yep. My 2017 Kia Sorento 2.4L with only 66k miles spun a rod bearing a couple of weeks ago. Have had it since new and I am OCD about maintenance, so it never went over 5k miles between oil changes with synthetic oil at the dealer. I have never had any issues with what otherwise is an awesome vehicle, but those engines are garbage for sure. Just glad there is a lifetime warranty for this issue.

The small coupling connector is known as a "spider". They are in all kinds of couplings. I've changed many over the years. Just a tid bit. Great video!

You digging out the remnents of that rubber star on the steering shaft felt equivalent to the dental technician removing the floss from my teeth. Glad you remembered the previous Hyundai video. Your work is continually impressive. Thanks for the video.

This video reminds me of when I replaced a blower fan in the dash. I was up under the passenger side of the dash with absolutely no room body all twisted couldn’t see crap. Good times.

I too have pads to work off of . I always lay a moving blanket tripped up when working under a dash too , or even on door covers . Also spread them under the car when working under a car . Since I don’t have a lift , the blanket helps allot . I will be 68 in April with bad kneas . Steering collums are always difficult .

Great job! I wouldn't be able to do that job. The body doesn't do that any more.
