Playing one of my own tunes on a Bass Nyckelharpa. I built this Instrument home in Sweden 2019. I hope you like my music and the sound from scandinavia.
The sound is earthy and quite spirited, of course, lovely. The sweater is also beautiful. Sometimes I think I hear fragments of Scandinavian music in Appalachian music here in the U.S. The American instrument is minimal, relatively crude compared to your Bass Nyckelharpa; and American "folk" songs are certainly of another world compared to the lovely Scandinavian older songs. Brava for your composition of not only the instrument but also the tune. So happy to hear it.
"....American "folk" songs are certainly of another world....." They've had all the weird angles, all the lumps and bumps and rough stuff sanded out of them by generations of back-porch pickers. What remains is entirely pure spring water, absolutely diatonic stepwise melodies over I - IV - V progressions. American folk music is one of the few perfect kinds of music in the whole world, because it has no gimmicks.
