If it becomes even worse than it is now we can always go indie. And if they kill indie games too there's always other things to do than gaming. I think it's extremely hypocritical to force all gamers to play as black female say for instance.. claiming it's about representation.. instead of just making a game where you can customize your character to be any race/gender. If you cared about "representation" you would make a game where you can be anyone.. which I always prefer, cause I want to role play as ME, unless it's handling an iconic character that's known to be a certain way... then for instance I'd have no problem playing as said iconic character...which they usually purposefully change, and shame for being a white man (see SSKTJL), or put on a pedestal to shame white straight males... Yet they continue to create new characters that are there to teach us lessons, not to be purely interesting characters with good stories. They're not saying all races/genders matter.. they're saying "these people matter more than these and I'm gonna teach you why they've always been evil" which is exactly what they claim to be fighting as if it was always done to them in gaming/film. It's massive hypocrisy. I will never forget the ending of Arkham City. The respect they payed to The Joker was possibly my favourite story moment in all of gaming. I also know that if that Joker managed to kill Batman he would've been a million times more respectful and he's a fucking CLOWN.

I never thought I'd see the day that we get a Silent Hill game about a girl sad that she doesn't have online followers, texting through the game, and with platitudes and helplines for mental health issues. Fuck me. Back in the day the whole reason we liked Silent Hill was how fucked up the whole thing was. It wasn't just zombie fighting like Resident Evil...it was about people who were mentally broken. The funny thing is, after buying it, I didn't get to it for a couple days, and in that time I caught a bit of Az livestreaming it. 15 minutes into the stream I was already beginning regret that purchase. I have worked as a localization editor in the gaming industry for 5 years and it's as woke including every publishing arm of Japanese companies. I’d like to have a go at the Fallout franchise, starting with fixing the timeline when the first game is set, maybe around 35 years after the war (2112). It always bothered me that the wasteland looks like crap 200 years later. And insects can never grow large, because it’s physically impossible for current day Oxygen-levels to support large insects, or critters like Radscorpions. Scratch two headed animals, as they’ll die because they cannot fit through the birth canal. The second parts is radioactivity. After Hiroshima, it didn’t take much time for it to dissipate. So, very little radioactive fallout in 2112. At most there’ll be isolated pockets, sealed after the detonation and subsequent fallout, but before the first rains/snowfall. Thirdly, mini-nukes. If you want fantasy and magic, yeah maybe. Electromagnetic rail guns are a thing, more like toys, but they’re possible. Vertibirds are their version of the Ospreys. Prydwen wouldn’t be made of metal, but lightweight carbon fiber. Power-armor might be a thing, but it depends on nuclear battery, which is tested right now. Though they’ll be quite bulky because if servomotors. Fourth, the rise of nations within the wasteland. Republic of Dave might seem a joke, but there should be lots of them dotting the wastelands. Raiders wouldn’t bother with skulls/bones, dressed like lunatics. I’d imagine they’d look like bikers, normal clothing to camouflage themselves from their victims. There’s a lot I can nitpick about, but suffice to say current Fallout has a lot of fantasy elements.
All I do is repeat what I've been saying so many times by now: I stopped buying newly released games. I stopped buying newly released movies. I only listen to old music or newly released music from legacy artists. I do not take part in modern culture. I refuse to waste my hard-earned money on what I consider propaganda-filled junk that isn't worth my money, let alone my time. And I hope more and more people will do the same. On the Sweet Baby Inc website the resources page does a little Q&A with the people who work there. The first one tries to tell you the difference between a narrative designer and a games writer. The very next person on the list is a Writer + Narrative designer. Trying to tell us the difference but then showing us that one person can do both roles is kind of funny.
The modern audience is there but it's so tiny that triple a studios can make games for them, that's the job for indie devs but even then majority of them can't make profit because of how little the amount of modern audiences there are
It's good that we identified the company responsible for the current-daying of many of the latest games, but it's not like they're the only company like that, or that they can't rebrand themselves or hide their involvement. We need to make this business model unsustainable asap.
I was a bit surprised by how sickened I felt after watching the Batman execution. I knew the concept behind the game and didn't really care, but after watching some clips that went viral I kept thinking about it for days - I kept wondering why it bothered me so much. It just felt very gross and strangely personal. I think it's because Batman represents something beyond just a superhero - he's a symbol of justice and vengeance - a character who makes criminals feel the way they make innocent people feel - afraid and vulnerable. Having Batman humiliated in that way felt like it was a bold statement about more than just comic book characters, but about new values killing off more traditional values. It reminded me of how I felt when Han Solo was killed. I hope the game is an utter failure.
I loved Spider-Man 2018 so damn much that I figured they'd have to take a running start to screw up the sequel. Sweet Baby managed to take the lowest expectations and dig deeper.
These are people who believe 'insert popular IP' = sales. That's one reason they're doing what they're doing; if the IP sells the product, then it doesn't matter what the product is. If it doesn't matter what the product is, filling it with propaganda won't hurt sales. Therefore, they can get the bad_gamers to pay for their own proselytization, and take home $$$ to boot.
