I was about 14 when this came out. I had a crush on a boy 3 years older than I. He didn't know I existed...I'm 50 now, he is almost 54 and now a dear friend. I hear this song and those young girl butterfly feelings come rushing back!!!! Innocence and genuine love/crush. Smile.
Damn!! how the hell did radio ever stray away from music like this. If I ever hit the lotto im buying my own radio station and playing straight up late 70's all of the 80's and early 90's R&B. Faces lead and the groups background vocals are killin, you just don't get this kind of harmony any more, also Dees hi notes in Just My Luck shows groups back then got several members involved vocally. Best era for music hands down.
Fyi this song wasn't supposed to be on this album because two of the original group member from The Deele thought it wouldn't even get played. Wow how we almost did not have a chance to here a classic song. By the way it hit number 2 on the R&B charts in1984. Classic forever. Sorry Troop The Deele is the original and the best.
+DeeNice681 funny how he never sang in front of the group according to Kato. He was just hired to play keyboards and never brought up the fact that he could sing. lol
This has ALWAYS been my favorite song from the first time I heard it. The music was beautiful, took u in and then Babyface came in smooth with lyrics. Many times u can't tell the difference between Babyface and Satin but this was all Face but I loved the group as a whole. You're All I've Ever Known by them... Uhggg LOVED The Deele!!!
Right. Years ago when I first heard Troops version, I looked at the radio and said who is this cause that ain't my Babyface singing lol? Realized it was Troop, which they did a good job, but nothing beats the original.
I remember this song from the mid 80's. I had a friend, Jodi, who moved to Kansas City the summer after I met her. She had 2 brothers, I remember " Bubba" but not the other brothers name. I remember Bubba kissing me behind County High in Northport though. I love the song and the memories, thanks for all of the great music.
this is my favorite song by The Deele and Babyface of course. Troop also did a version of this song which is nice too. They just dont make music like this anymore and that is such a shame.
Troop spread my wings do you know it? If not take a listen if you do take a listen. You are right I grew up in Detroit in the 80’s. The place to be. Enjoy!
Truly one of my all time favorite love songs... Babyface nails the lead vocal on this track... I also love the cover done by Super R&B group Troop but the nod goes to the original in my opinion...
The ballad in which every other ballad should be measured against, feeling, sincerity, humilty and most of all for the lover, hope, this cut has it all.
Iconic legends the Deele💗💯 .. Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds one of our most celebrated creative forces in music history, aka Babyface.. he has left an indelible mark on the R&B soul and pop music scenes. At his phenomenal November 18th 2K23, SC show.. so incredible, sang this gorgeous the Deele✨80’s Sweet November🍂 classic, melted my heart all over again! ♥️🥰🍁
Songs like this make more sense after you have lived...through it..I did thanks to the Deele!! The memories of struggle and pain..triumph as only an Alpha man could do. One love to the Ole' School and my sisters in that Pink and Green!!.
I do miss real love songs like this! Wow does make you wonder is this the reason true love is so hard to come by because people have drifted so far from it. Come back my fellow singers! We are waiting.
Got good feed back from alot of people about this 1983 classic. I actually bought the original record from a local music store that had the original album. I did some more research on this Jam and like I said before this song almost didn't make it on this album. I was born in 1968 and remember alot of classic jams and one hit wonders that we've forgotten about. I'm going to find all the feel good music baby making music and put it on RU-vid for us to enjoy.
I saw Babyface in concert on 02-18-2011 in Columbia, SC. It was a dynamic show. He's the consumate performer. The young artist would be wise to sit down with these old masters and learn from their feet.
Man, me and my dude was just talkin bout the same thing! Remember when they'd slow it down in the club for the last few songs and play some Isleys, Surface, or some old school jams.
Or you would be waiting at home sitting by the radio waiting for the song to come on to record it and the moment you leave, you hear it on the radio in your car but you can't record it. lol!
I search for this every couple of months and I'm just beaming over here now! thanks so much! This song brings back memories! Much better than Troop in my opinion!
This song reminds me of my time in Virginia Beach, Fort Story. There is very short list of songs that have moved me as much at this one did. It does make you think, "why", are songs like this not being made anymore? Anyway, I had a girlfriend at the time but our relationship could not compare to the feelings this song gave me. 1 Love
This Lil guy even at that time was very talented along with the other members were equally talented. Look how Babyface, Darryl Simmons, LA Reid has blown up over the years. Thank you Darnell for keeping it real and holding on and giving us true R&B. Also a shot out to Leon, Kayo and Carlos and some of the other new attractions to the group.
It's all say'd there Sir. Yes these were the days. I'm 42 and i feel sad for the new generation. Fur Luck some of these artists are still touring nowadays ! JMH
I was introduced to this songi in the mid 80's while living in Cincinnati, Ohio by a close friend. I have been a Deele fan ever since - Until Now! I actually met them at a nightclub in Northern Kentucky - Jello's - anyone remember the club?
