Another reason is internet connection which will not always be available depending on the place I'm going. It cost virtually nothing for the state to utilize this form of media entertainment to placate and pre-occupy its young citizens it does not need resources even electricity although in China electricity is not a problem since they will have tons of surplus of those eventually that even their cars will have to be electric powered. The US and Japan where once the top two economies for a long time because they got tech, Germany maybe Europe's largest economy but it can never beat Japan because Tech is the only thing that really matters. Germany does not have Nintendo, Sony, X-box and all this companies that compliment their electronic hardware sector. It is the applications, programs and entertainment that makes electronic hardware shine and unless this is a contest of cromangoman brute force Germany can beat Japan, but this is not a cave story. China will surpass the US when its tech surpasses the West just like it did with Japan. Inter-connectivity is key even evangelicals spend more time online than the Marian apparitions of the old days. Japan does not know how to utilize this unlimited resources at their disposal as a very potent soft power projection because its foreign policy are run by Christopfucking Columbus inbreed Christians who although cannot compete with the local Buddhist religion since they themselves prefer Zen Buddhism they sure own everything that is foreign policy outside Japan and all they know is Bagdok, F-4 economic collapse and civil wars.
My additional Gear Purchase via crystal suggestions: Mk 5 Fusion Furnace, because it includes two other items, it is a good deal. Mk3 Carbantis...yeah you get them in the challenge, but the key characters need them too often, no shame here. Mk 3 Sienar HoloProjectors. Used too damn often, and are not expensive, and don't show up in challenges. Key Player Patience Skill: don't Gear or Level up a Toon until you are actually going to use them. Hard nodes are slightly better at gear drop than normal modes. But only do those Hard Nodes who have character/ship shards you want. A few characters can only be found in Hard Nodes, such as 1st Orders' Tie Pilot and Stormtrooper (there are others), decide whether you really want them in the long run, because they are a loooong ways off to finish up to 7*. I only spend money during Double Drop Events; and only if I think I can fulfill a desired goal...I have R2 at 7* because I spent a spare $5. Managed to get Thrawn at $5 to bulk up the Phoenix team. my 2 cents on this is seeing how much a piece of salvage will cost per gear furnance have 120 purple with 1 green piece for 1400 making it the cheapest (per salvage) gear mk3 sienar is 300 for 20 purple pieces, the next best deal deal mk8 implant (and the 2 other gold) is 750 for 50 gold pieces, nice deal, just don't mistake it with the 1250 for 60 pieces then we have stun cuff, carbantis, stun gun 1400, 1400, 1256 for 50, respectively, expensive but farming it is a pain (i would recommend farm them with energy and challenge) only buy them when you need your characters geared quick (meta shift or something). Same with other raid gears as they share about same price the mk5 detonator is a curious piece atm, the 25 pieces price is 375 but the full 50 pieces is 1256, same with stun gun. That make the price of the 25 pieces deal as nice as the gold pieces. But not a lot of characters need it, i only use raid reward and still have 2 full pieces spare, so only buy them if you need to rush.
I know this is an older video, but I just wanted to boast a bit, when I first unlocked guilds, I was extremely lucky in finding an extremely active guild with chilled out, and high level players willing to help along new players. Don't feel bad for wanting to advance man. I'm sure you're in a great group but ultimately your progress in the game will be hindered quite a bit if you aren't in a guild that can provide the best rewards for you.
The last part of the video was enough to inspire me to click the subscribe button. I have built a website dedicated to balancing video games and real life. Perhaps I'm a hypocrite because this game has CONSUMED me for the last month or so (I started playing under a googleplay promo during the holidays.) early on I'd say it's most important to spend crystals on refreshes over gear. Buy gear you get gear. Buy energy, you get XP, training, money, gear, shards. Unless you're max level, being a higher level is going to be one of the biggest advantages you'll get. Quicker access to ships, better characters, higher level max for characters... so many benefits...
Bs on getting number 1 in arena. My shard has all gear 11 and multiple. Zetas. A single zeta team ain't winning. That's just top 200. Teams with cls, 3zetas, r2 d2, with. 2 zetas, 7 star Thrawn, zeta, gk zeta. Either rex. Or dn 7star and. Zeta. Maul zeta. With kylo zeta teams.
Marty Martin it is true that not every shard will work with you, which I have my opinions on. But it's not true that you have to spend to do well. You just need to be more patient and farm smart. But if the game isn't enjoyable for you no need to play anymore. I'm f2p and love the game, so I keep playing :)
#2 is what I've been doing during my first six months on the game. Everyone thought I was mad for building a First Order team before Phoenix or Sith, but then Zylo Unmasked came along. (go cubs)
Once you make a payment in this game your placed on a different server which allows you a more balanced AI to get you spending more,not trying to knock you,but f2p are placed with harder battles,The most important team's you should focus at the beginning are resistance and scoundrels so you'll complete the mod challenge and boost your toons with speed and crit chance

Thank you for this but also if you want a character that only is available through hard nodes then they're totally worth using the shipments shards for. It takes forever otherwise
That's why you should always hit those nodes every day if you can and just shelve the idea of having that character for a while. I think this kind of farming doesn't conflict with the "focused farming" rule either, it just slows your overall gear farming a bit as you detour 36 to 100+ energy a day to those nodes (that might or might not give you other stuff that you need besides shards too).
Of course it also stings massively when you get zero shards from over 100 energy in a day... Which is why I want to slowly move from heavy RNG games in the future.
Not sure where you got two years from but as soon as you have the node 3* you should average one shard per day = 330 days to go from 0 shards to 7*, but if you got a few from the marquee event that goes down to about 300
Relying on being #1 is really a bold statement. There's about 20 contenders for the #1 spot, and all of those folks are going to have a go at it as much as you do. So perhaps you can consistently get in the top 20, and rank #1 every once in a while, but that can't be a general rule. I'm currently working hard to make my way into the top 20, but truth is, I'm about 5-10 levels below anyone in the top 20, and I'm not catching up any time soon. So my only chance is if I can somehow squeeze a victory in the last minutes before the timeout. and that will only give me a 50 crystals bonus. I think most ppl can perhaps work their way to top 50 reliably, but beyond that, it's going to be really hard. There can be only one #1 ranking player at the end of the day.
Clarification: the nodes that drop the crystals never change, and they always drop the same amount. They add up to 25 altogether. The last node gives the prize box though, which drops anywhere from 5 to 60. That's the only wildcard in GW.
Even though this video starts to be a bit dated, newer player stil refers to, and I think it’s important for them to know, if you are not ready to spend a few hundred$ in Chromium pack, they will always be a disapointment. Now, don’t get me wrong, they are not worthless, but it’s more that they are just and only amazing in large bundle. Also, as mentionned in the video, the more you progress, the least is their true value, so, as amazing they are as a new player ready to drop a few hundred$, be sure you enjoy the game enough to spend that much. I did, about 500$, and it was best investment by far, but now that I have 50+ 7*, I will never put a dime in a russian roulette like that.
Hey man! Good question. A "Shard" is the group of people in your squad arena. So everyone you could possibly battle in your Squad Arena is in your Arena Server, or Shard. It's based on when you started playing the game. Most shards will be in contact with eachother (at least the top 20-30 or so at the top) so they can coordinate payout times. I was a bit confused by this before I got in touch with my shard but once I was in contact it all made sense. If you need help finding your group, I'd join my discord server and let somebody know (we have several well connected people there who can help you find somebody in your Arena :) )
BenMJay it’s not, and I️ stand by what I️ said. You could be encountering one of two things. First, if you’re in an early shard people who spend will be ahead of you if you’re f2p so it may take longer for you to catch up, but eventually you will. Second, if you’re in a more experienced shard there will be pockets of people who either don’t care about arena or who quit the game that are easy enough to battle around. Don’t sell yourself short and call me an idiot- you can absolutely make it to the top if you’re Patient and farm smart. I️ made it to #1 before spending one cent on the game in April ‘17 and I’m in a dec 2015 shard. 👍
I have the same problem but I know why that is.I stopped playing for 6 months, so everyone is ahead of me.I am at around 200 rank and everyone has gear 12 legendary teams.I am beating 100k teams with 60k team.Then I am the obvious target so I drop.But I do well in the fleet arena and since they added the shards there I get 100-200 from there.Again, its my fault not the games, I am hopeful since 3 months ago I coudnt even pass top 1000 and now I can pass top 200.
Finally unlocked Baze the ONLY char I spend crystals for.He is hard to gear though :(.Already got a 6 star Chirut from fleet store, just caution, both are hard to gear.I cant beat 9B yet so no farming for me for now.
how do you coordinate with people in your shards? Like how'd you get in contact with them in the beginning? and what was the plan to divvy up the rewards?
j s search Reddit (there's a mega thread) and the forums to try and find them. Usually everyone organizes who's payout is what time, and you rotate who gets top spots within your payout time.

At what level and time of gameplay do you think someone should be able to place in the top of their shard in squad arena? I play only since early may and it took me two months to get from 3800 to between 1600 und 800 ranking (One month alone to get below 3000). I am happy to have by now a 7* and two 6* (i use two of them in squad arena) but in order to get the team you want to play in squad arena you need Scoundrels for the credits and droids and so on. Considering the gear you have to grind or take part in raids a lot (which i am only able since i switched Guild a couple of weeks ago). In my shard the teams average around 6* and gear level 9 and i am only talking about rankings 1100- 800. My friends that did not follow me to my new guild are standing even worse in squad arena. Btw, in comparison, my fleet arena ranking is between 120 and 80 but unfortunately there are no crystals to earn.
Danilo Papais well because your arena is based on when everyone starts playing you should be able to manage right away- just a matter of farming a team that can compete at the top. I agree with prioritizing scoundrels so your heist is in order but be sure to not short change yourself- farm the right five toons and you should be able to make top 100 minimum
Thanks! I tried another team (jedi) a couple of days ago because the synergy and overall rarity was my best someone told me, but i have fallen 800 ranks in a day. My current team is Boba Fett, Tarkin, Vader, Royal Guard and either Jedi Consular or Lumi as healer and i was able to get back around 1000 in three days. Seems the only thing missing is to know which 5 toons i need as a better (and better farmable) team. I think what put me at a disadvantage was being in a guild where i needed 5 days to get 5 shards (yeah, i got around 65-80 guild currency a day) out of the guild store and where no raids were started that could be joineed by the beginners with less then 6* toons (and the guild was stuck over 2 weeks in a AAT raid, unable to finish it, so not really guild currency from raiding).
I know this video is old but I’m not sure I can get to the top of my shard any time soon, I have 70k power droid team in about 700-600 range and I am fighting 100k+ meta teams with all 7 star gear 12 sometimes 12+, 6 dot mods full zeta teams, also I don’t know how old my shard is I got the game a long time ago but didn’t really start playing until like a year and a half ago.
We now have 10 guys including myself that have the same payout in my discord. It is crazy, we have to split the top 10 instead of 5, really thins the payout...

So when your top 100 is g11 cookie cutter, chaze/nihilus/rex et. al. And your top 5 characters you spent the entire time on are g9. You totally can beat players that spend 2 arena refreshes a day, have characters with extremely higher stats, have 6 10+ speed mods, yup 'you too can get to top of arena' /s Ya maybe in 6 months when all the top players get bored and leave the game leaving me still farming to catch up to them.
30 bucks aint bad. I don't make much money, so can't spend much. I recently spent 5 bucks, woulda spent 20 in dc legends but google play store kept giving me errors after one purchase. I use Bluestacks 3, maybe that's why. If anyone knows of a fix, let me know.. Most the time the prices are completely outrageous so I avoid buying because I feel they are ripping people off. They had a xmas sale in DC Legends that seemed how the prices SHOULD be so I put some money down. Don't feel bad about it.
I honestly don’t see what 100$ gets you in chromiums. What is there? Energy refresh I guess, but like you can get some 4* shit characters. Unless you spend 4K what is there?

jatoja88 If you are scoring jigh in arena, you can spend 150 of your daily crystals to buy him in the regular shipments. But only the 150 crystal one. Also, if you manage to get to the hard modes of light side, he is farmable but it's a slow tesious farm. Hope this helped! :)
i dpnt know if any of ypu are old enpugh to remember but the mmorpg Ragnarok.....i broke up with at least 3 girlfriends for that game..and who knows where my life could have went if i wasnt such an idiot back then.
shard cordinating? Think I read that that is no longer a thing. If it is, anyone have a vid they could link explaining what that's about? I'm stuck in low ranks and keep getting matched up with teams in arena that way out power and level me. I hear that means I'm doing good for my player level (50) and in time I will increase as I gear up/rank up my characters.
lol fair point but it really depends on the shard you're in. I only pay attention to my shard's top 30 and there are very few copy/paste teams now. There were way more in the past, but people in my group are all running different combos.
I'm new to the game (1 month and in my server there are only Sith, Phoenix and Lando/StHan teams in the top 50 (with the only exception on my poor little droid team xD). Not complaining at all, since I don't mind, starting to build a tusken team atm (wich I've heard are completely unplayable). Suscribed.
ManceRayderX yeah every shard is different for sure. That said, I think it makes sense that yours will have less diversity because you guys are newer to the game- less teams are farmed/ready. I'm in a November 2015 shard and so many players have very deep rosters to choose from. You'll get there man :)

Jason Tennant never said it was easy and if I gave advice on how to get to the top in this video it would have doubled the length of it because there’s a lot to it. There are plenty of guides on how to get to the top of your shard but for this video it was sufficient to point out why it’s important to put in the effort to get there. 👍
Andrew Hislop lol fair point but the difference is in cantina rng is at play but the only character you can get is what you want. When opening a chromium pack the chances of getting a character you need are very low. Thanks for watching!
