“There is an app for that.” With this slogan, Apple gave customers a promise. Over the years, the App Store grew and is now available in almost every country. This gives developers the possibility to distribute their work worldwide with just one click. But this opportunity creates new challenges, especially in user experience design. Therefore, the slogan should be updated to “There is an app for you.” This revised version will be the starting point for this talk. Join this talk for a celebration of inclusive design and learn how you can create an app for everybody. Not only how to make your app more welcoming for everyone, but you will also learn how you can make your app more accessible with Voice Over and how you as a developer can benefit from it.
About Christian Theisen
Christian Theisen is researching the connection of society and technology. After graduating in information processing at the Universities of Cologne and Tokyo, he contributed to voice assistant apps and the REWE iOS app. Since 2021 he is part of the SAP innovation team located in Berlin where he is creating new ideas leveraging the mobile suit. Even though his first iPhone was an iPhone 6 he fully emerged into the Apple ecosystem and is striving to learn more about pushing ideas over the border of a device.
