Mowing acreage with a swisher 60" finish mower offset behind a garden tractor for a 9.5ft cut each pass. The swisher mower is powered by the Briggs 14.5hp engine. It cuts thick and tall grass very well. Filmed this with a DJI mavic air drone.

I could have watched a drone video of the entire lawn mowing. I bought two used 60” Swishers in 2016 and tried the running one on two big lawns which both used to be farms. The deck didn’t have enough flow to handle a thick healthy area of grass.

I should add to my comment that the deck is too shallow for airflow and moving the clippings out of the deck. I had a running 60” and a project 60”. You need some big open lawn without many obstacles to go around to justify the money and to be able to reduce your mowing time. But, I can also see a reason for someone using one to mow around trees with low hanging branches. I think one with a 52” deck might be easier to use than the 60”. I sold both of mine. In less than a year from buying them.

The background with this video is. I live 8 hours away from this place. This was my dad's property and he was sick and dying. Eventually he passed and I then had to care for my step mom who was dying. This property had to be maintained. So I bought the offset mower and eventually a john deere garden tractor with a belly mower. I was living in 2 places with more on my plate than most people could handle. That's why the offset mower and why I didn't try to bale it. I eventually had to put my step mom in a nursing home. Thinking she might die at home I had hospice and a home Healthcare service I paid close to 10000 a month for. Eventually I had to put her in a nursing home and finally had no choice but to sell the property in order to pay for the nursing home stay. 5 grand a month. I hope someday I can buy this property back. Never wanted to be without it.
