My K11 was the first rifle I ever owned and I bought it after watching some of your early videos. It remains my favorite rifle.

Haha, might be the first rifle I ever own, or the K31. Seems like a gun I'll always shoot. With that action and it's elegance, I think that's a rifle you'd want for your first or fiftieth

Why is you k11 your best shooter? You would think the k31 would be better because the sights and barrel is longer and the same with the others. I like my k11 too but my k31 is more accurate. I would like to get the long rifles later I also heard they are the most accurate.
@That_NJ_guy
@That_NJ_guy 6 лет назад
sman7290 they are the same length but the action is shorter on the k31 so the barrel is longer and the sights are made longer.
@That_NJ_guy
@That_NJ_guy 6 лет назад
sman7290 the M1911 also called the G11 is longer than both. The 96/11 is basically the same as the G11.

I own two K31's and one K11. I shoot more accurately with my K11. I guess it's because the sights are closer together than in K31, so it's better for my eye focusing and my aiming

I'm a handgun guy so I don't know much about shooting rifles at distance, but that thing sure seems pretty darn accurate, particularly considering the iron sights.

Thanks very much for sharing this great video with us. I’m a HUGE fan of straight pull action rifles, having had a Spinal Cord Injury as a young man. The straight/toggle action is for me what those big, tactical bolt handles is for the people who swear by them...although mine is because I NEED the ease of use, not because it’s a preference. Regardless, I really enjoy the videos. Cheers from Victoria, British Columbia, (Canada!).

Correction the the P mark from Edelweiss Arms -"Each Swiss citizen volunteering or conscripted into the Swiss armed forces would have been issued a weapon of some sort, typically a rifle. Rather than being checked in at the end of the day and checked back out, possibly being issued a different serial number, the soldier would retain this rifle throughout service. Upon this soldier's completion of service and subsequent discharge, the solder was given the option to retain their issued firearm. If they chose to do so, a P, for "Privat", would be stamped on the receiver or frame to indicate that the firearm is no longer Swiss military property and is now privately owned."

Beautiful rifle... Mine is a bit older (serial number in the mid 49000s, says it was made in 1916), the stock is a bit more beat up, still accurate as hell - I can do 3 inch groups with iron sights at 100m...

Just picked up a Schmidt-Rubin 1889 in an antique shop. Rifle has been sporterized but is in great shape. I just ordered some cerrosafe to do a chamber casting just to play it safe since some of these rifles were rechambered and not always marked. I intend to reload with 7.5x55 brass trimmed down to 54.5 and use 170 grain round nose bullets loaded to 30-30 specs using 30 grains of varget powder or 30 grains of 4895 with a 180 grain bullet I’ll determine OAL according to my chamber casting. This is the first time I’ll be reloading for a cartridge that’s no longer in production. Am I missing anything or is there something else I should be aware of?
@rebeccahuber4514

Internal magazine? It has a detachable 6 round magazine. At least mine has. It is designed to be fed with a stripper clip of sorts. Not SKS style but with a more substantial bullet holder for filling the magazine from the top. You can also detach the mag and fill it regular style.

Just a thought... Is there any way you could give us a view of the sights you are using on these weapons? I’d particularly like to see visual representation of what a bulls eye hold looks like on a K31 versus say a Garrand or Mosin. Other “styles” of holds would be cool too like what a sight picture looks like for a 10 mph cross wind or maybe allowing for the meters to yardage difference in elevations. Real time probably wouldn’t work. Video would be nice. I’m not sure if the camera can focus like that. Drawings maybe? As I say, just a thought...
