this fits perfectly inside the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set and works well with it. if you refill it with alcohol add some GENTLY heated Vaseline when it cools it will thicken for added stability of he replacement fuel. its also the perfect size for heating canned foods from the store. IMPORTANT its best to use the lid of the cooking pot rather than the M71 lid to put out the flame if you have it. but if you use the M71 lid to smother the flame remove it as soon as its out or it will melt the rubber seal and it may leak
Went to my local surplus shop today and saw these up for sale. I've been looking for a compact stove to go with my canteen cup setup I'm building. After seeing this, it really is a nifty setup to have for a few bucks. Definitely going back tomorrow and grabbing one, thanks for the review!
Hello from Vorarlberg 😄🇦🇹 I own one of these and I use it all the time it's safe reliable and a complete beginner set 😄 I love mine to death and I would buy a new one in a heartbeat 😁 The best thing about it is it doesn't matter how cold or how windy it still works 😊 Kind regards Leopold 🤗
Great job brother thank you for your knowledge and expertise and the review of all the things you do whenever I go to graduation parties weddings funerals Etc I always claim the spent Sternos cans I filled them with 100% cotton balls and cover the cotton balls with 100% cotton or flannel use 91% alcohol or Airline alcohol from a truck stop does a great job I never can trust the seals on the cans but a bottle of alcohol has a factory sealed already thanks again for all your reviews ingrate Channel
I didn't know they were alcohol gel-based and could be refilled. They have them at a surplus store near me for 4 or 5 bucks. I didn't get them at the time because the stand they came with were a little ratted out. But knowing they can be refilled/revitalized, whatever you want to call it, is pretty cool. I might have to make a trip out there and grab a couple.
I use an old Swiss Army military surplus TRANGIA alcohol stove kit. May have to look into these and the adapters, already have plenty of adapters for fuel sources while at the Casa or a bug in scenario.
I bought a dozen of these when a local store had them at $4.50 ea. I'm still on my first can because I refill it with yellow Heat. Have done so about 20 times so far....still going strong! Thanks!
@@jd7713 I have always run my gel dry so, no for me it doesn't turn to gel again. I have heard that if there is gel left it will re-gel. But I don't know how many times that would work as you would be constantly diluting the gelling agent. The heat bottle is great and when it is gone I refill the heat bottle with denatured alcohol. The heat/alcohol burns extremely clean and has no smoke like the M-71 stove gel does. Leaves black residue on your pots.
Nice video, but i would like to know how long does every can burns. Is it enough to cook, boil water etc for a daily use. I think that it is important.
Thanks! Good video! Very informative! I subscribed and I hi that "Like" button! One question though.... how strong was that coffee? Hahaha. Don't get me wrong.... I'd drink it.... with a whole pile of non dairy creamer! Keep up the good work!
It's a hand warmer-firestarter-stove-sterilizer-lava lamp-candle for camping with a touch of iridium :) I'll take one to go-from your amazon store. Thanks for the review.
The matches supplied with the stove are of the wooden variety but in a cardboard match cover....very novel...so they often get removed before the sale.
