Probably go for the lite, even though I don't travel much I just don't use the TV as much as I used to due to online work. I also just usually am in my room.
“Much easier to fit in your pocket.” Girls: We can barely fit our phones in our pockets 💀 EDIT: Yall good news, I got a Nintendo Switch Lite now :D Also wow this is my most liked comment thx :) Omg finally I found this video again :O
If you play 1% more than half of the time in handheld mode, go get the lite for sure, I have both, I almost never touch my regular switch, Lite feels much much better in hand than regular switch
@@Gunnr7As a switch lite owner , yeah those urges come to me but even for the size of the lite the screen is not small it is actually quite big , not big big but big enough to buy a pro controller , make the switch stand on a bottle and use it , but if you’re gonna use the pro controller just get a normal switch tbh (ik this comment is 1 year old)
Here’s the only question you need to consider: what do you do more? Play docked on your couch or play primarily undocked? That should be the only influence to which one you buy…
@@AlyxRythrill710not by too much only like $50. like I know some people can’t afford that but getting a console is a luxury on its own so anyone getting a regular switch can most likely afford only a $50 upgrade. from a lite(a budget option) to an oled is a different story
I use the lite primarily, but I do have a regular switch that is always docked. For multi-player and guests. Thank goodness you can have it upload and download save data automatically.
@@elitegamer7414okay, I would have used a more realistic choice of words but I see what you mean- like I agree. but some people have several switches or consoles of the same main type that they use for different purposes each. plus, some people’s joycons are old and fall out and don’t bother getting new ones or they like another function of the lite. I understand both perspectives deeply
I think the price would more worth it for the Lite if Nintendo had it $150. For the price of one Switch, you could get 2 Switch Lites. For TV mode, you can use a good camera with HDMI out, and connect the headphone jack to an external speaker. An android phone with Open Camera would work too, since it wouldn’t have GUI on screen. You would also need a $10-$20 HDMI out though.
I just want a handheld. I have a series x as my main platform. I wanna travel more and game still so a little is perfect, plus it looks better than the original
I’m mostly the exact opposite, I prefer handheld all the time but if I wanna play with either of my sisters or my parents then if I have the ability I will dock my oled to make it easier for them to see their tiny characters on a propped up smaller kickstand screen.
No. Wrong. This is better: IF you’re a handheld gamer (coming from 3DS, Vita, DS gamer) definitely get switch lite. When we say “lighter”, we mean it makes a difference to hold! Other wise, get the standard.
Ima handheld gamer and no one understands what I mean when I say “I don’t like sitting in front of a TV with a remote controller in my hand” I’m not watching a movie.
@@graymars1097 Switch handeld mode: Am I a joke to you? (Probably since you're a handeld gamer you would still choose the Switch Lite because it's smaller. I think.)
Literally never heard someone complain about playing games on a TV. That's how you know we're in a new wonky generation where kids can't even be bothered to put a game on the TV anymore
I'm more comfortable using a regular switch while using a pro controller since my left hand is unusable and I can only use one hand. I also mostly play it when it's in the dock
@@NovakNeotry getting the portal bundle if you’re a fan of story mainly in a game and small elements of horror and liminality mixed in there with a tiny bit of Sci-Fi humor mixed in there
If you just want to play on the TV I reccomend the regular, if you just want to play in handheld mode I reccomend the lite, but if you want to play in all methods I reccomend the OLED.
i want to buy a lite the only thing holding me back is the screen size. isnt it minuscule? like so small that tour eyes hurt? i cant tell how small it is from videos or pictures
at first i wanted a series s but tbh a switch lite is kinda amazing for its price as it’s 160$ rn in the uae i can buy some games for it and i use my ps4 slim for the tv
Had them all, from the V1 Switch over to V2 and the OLED, but still coming back to the lite over and over again, it's also my most used one xD sure the TV mode on the normal Switch is great but dunno, for handheld it's definitely the lite for me. It's way more comfortable in hand than the big ones
And don’t forget: switch lite doesen’t have vibration function, back stand for playing multi player on the same screen, and the joycons are melted in the console, means that If you have problems with drifting you have to change or repair the whole thing.
True, but maybe because that’s quite literally and obviously not the purpose for this tech at all- it’s MEANT for handheld. If you just put all those features back in there it would be just a regular switch but for $100 cheaper for no reason and Nintendo would basically lose millions of dollars for people getting a regular switch but for a lot cheaper
Switch lite inside your pocket is a one way ticket to regret land. I think you'd be able to pack the regular switch inside your pocket if you remove the cons into the other pocket... But still won't recommend because inside a tight jeans it would function as an armour... You won't be damaged but it would be damaged. Also bags of all kinds exsist... Even if it were some Random plastic bag... Better safe than sorry
If you have no friends and no tv to play with, then the switch lite is absolutely the best option. Also I would recommend getting it now if you want the new one next year
I suggest the switch lite if you are like me and you play by yourself and mostly single player games, if you want to play multiplayer you play locally. If you have like a family or friends who don't have switches and you hang out with them a Lot, the regular switch is for you, so that way you can use more controllers and play with them thatway.
easy, get the OLED model it has better sound, twice as much storage, and a bigger screen, then you have the option to play on the TV too if that's something you want also get a screen protector, it's actually more expensive to get the screen fixed, then to replace the console also a micro SD card for extra storage
The abilitiy to dock to your TV changes everything! Can't imagine not being able to enjoy the graphics on a big screen, especially for TotK/BotW. Even animal crossing is fun on the TV! Personally think the upgrade is worth it but it may depend what games you play on there too.
Switch lite is PERFECT for any college student. Or any person in the working field already. I won’t act like I didn’t have a magical experience when I played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on my sister’s 72 inch tv but still. I wouldn’t trade the compact and convenient style of the lite it’s too perfect sometimes. I feel like I’ve made tons of new nintendo fans just by carrying mine around
regular switch fits better in the pocket actually. if you remove the joycons its just a slightly bigger phone, which you can then put the controllers on a seperate pocket. instead of part of it jutting out like you showed on the lite
The factor of replacable joy cons is why i'd get the full size alone. Stick drift CAN be fixed, but in some cases it can't. I started using my switch again after it was just laying there for like 6 years, and i had to buy new joy cons so i could properly play again, with a lite i'd have been properly fucked.
I have the switch lite and i normally play in handheld anyways while in bed or chilling on the couch. its a decent switch for the money and won't break the bank.
If I have got money I would get a regular switch to get a more imersive experience on a TV. But I don't even have a TV, so lite you go, it is much cheaper.
i got a lite as it was the only thing available at the time of AC release and then got the animal crossing switch one day and god damn can never go back. hooked it up to my 2nd monitor and comfortably being able to be in any position with the controls is amazing. Definitely worth
To be honest i used to have a standart i sold it but i also understood i never used it on a tv because the games aren’t really that type of vibe, i like playing them at night, lite is up but standard is good too
I got the regular Switch earlier this year as right now I’m not traveling as much as before (due to college haha). But once I do start traveling again I’ll probably get a Switch Lite and just leave my regular Switch at home. It may even become my primary Switch as I play my regular Switch on handheld mode most of the time anyway.
Get a 3Ds, a good SD card, and then mod it (the modding process is practically universally accessible and only takes like 30mins-1hr). Then you can do pretty much whatever you want with it
I wish there was a dockable Switch that had fused on controllers instead of detachable ones. The Switch Lite feels much more solid in the hands than the regular Switch, but I’d still never get a Lite since there’s a decent amount of games that I think work better on a TV instead of handheld, like Splatoon 3 with motion controls or Switch Sports
No matter what anyone tells you, there is no right answer. I think Nintendo made them each have their own pros and cons so you'll buy all of them. It's maddening. Just pick one and try to be happy.
@@_.Yu.ki._ you just need to be happy with yourself and feel confident that you made the right decision. People never stop judging, just ignore them and have fun my guy.
There’s another bonus with the normal switch since certain games like switch sports require motion controls only the normal switch and oled model can play them. Although lite users can buy and pair joy cons for these games it’s going be on a tiny screen
if you play console or pc more then I suggest lite because its good for portable use and it's a little cheaper so you can spend more money on some games. But if switch is Ur main console then just go to the standard switch.Alot more features and you can switch the joycons out for other controllers making it more comfortable to hold.
Got the lite but then i felt like i need the normal switch. Now have both and still cannot decide which one to use 🤪. I mostly use the standard switch just because my save games is on there now. Turned on the lite the other day and the lite is way more comfortable!
Honestly, I wouldn’t put the switch in your pocket even if it could fit just because the joy cons because once you miss those joy cons up, you have to take the whole thing apart to fix him. I think it all comes down to preference. It’s nice having a switch light don’t get me wrong but for the extra hundred dollars you’re getting a bigger screen you can dock it to TV and if your joy cons ever get drift you can change them out
Probably the lite as I don't see a point in killing my neck no more just love the hand held feel recently got a dsi and 2ds and the hand held feel and how you can play Games on the go just sold me right there down staring at a TV for several hours as I break my neck trying too sit up straight when I could just lay with the screen I don't like playing games and lying down with a TV as I'm restricted too seeing alot unless I Wana go spend 1k on a 65 inch
I have the standard switch. Ok love the joy cons and the click. It’s still so fascinating to me. I bought my kid a switch lite and it feels more comfortable but I still gotta go with the OG switch.
Tbh, if your playing some shooting games such as Fortnite or apex legends I find the switch lite more controllable, but if you have a pro controller then that’s good but if you don’t and you just have the standard joycons it’ll be kinda hard to get some controls.
What most people don't get with the dockable versions of the switch is you don't have to use the joycons. You can get very nice controllers now without breaking the bank.
The standard switch has a flip stand on the back where the sd card goes too. Its often overlooked. The regular switch can still be played on the go or be played not in hands without being on a tv. The switch lite is literally as it's name says. Its a smaller lighter version of the handheld console with less hardware going for it. It cannot use joycons but is better for playing on the move. You might say the standard switch is the new wii and the switch lite is the new gameboy. Honestly I would say there was more creativity put into the ds and wii. Even the games had started developing content based around the consoles. Features like blowing into the ds mic, folding the screen down for an imprint effect in game, using a stylus, using the wiimote like a sensor or moving your body into various poses with the wiimote. They even put on straps so the wii motes would be safe and not be thrown all over the place by kids. I dont see the joycons working the same. They have these small things you can attach to the joycons with a loop but.... your not fitting that on a persons wrist. The wii motes also didnt break nearly as easy as the joycons. Heck them gamecubes are solid as rock. Everything seems to be getting bigger but not necessarily better. They are making fools of people marketing off the same gimmicks and implementing them worse. Yet its done in a way most people wouldnt notice. Kind of like many pre order games just to receive the same content others would receive later or could pay for seperately. Its simply for impatiant fans at that point. Im starting to get fed up with the gaming industry. They will abuse their consumers when given any chance they get.
I love my Lite. I had an OLED and never docked it and played on the TV so I got rid of it and got a Lite recently. I only play portable and the Lite is so much more comfy and easy to hold.
Tbh as a person who has many consoles and gaming devices, I see the switch oled as a really good deal for me personally, because of how it’s not too small and not too big, it’s great for travel and multiplayer and as I got the splatoon edition, it looks really cool with custom printing so it’s really your choice to buy whatever you want but in my opinion I would say get the switch OLED if you have the money to spend.
