Okendo Alejandro This is not plug and play. You will have to change you socket to the older style 3157 bulb harness. The good thing is you can put the original stock bulb back into this if you decide you dont like the look, etc. 2) sockets: goo.gl/H9d4tq 2) turns: goo.gl/VDhDD6 2) resistor: goo.gl/2F9mLD 2)fogs* : goo.gl/DJqNpk the 3rd wire on the harness (triggers the white to stay on) is tapped to fog light + wire. The other 2 wires are just 1:1 connection to the stock wires you will cut. solder connections and use heatshrink if you can. Turn sig bulbs still going strong (3 years at least) but I have replaced the fog's with a brighter verision aft old 1 in this video went out. Link to fog is from new seller I used but same wattage as video.
You have to order (or junkyard it) 2 new 3157 socket turn signal housing of ebay ($15). This is the old GM style thats similar to whats on your Escalade now but with 3 wires coming out versus 2. Wiring: 1 wire will go to turn sig, 1 wire will go to ground. (Yes u will be cutting old socket off). The 3rd wire will tap into the positive from the fog lights. You can bench test the wires with a battery and the new switchback LED to fig out exactly what wire will do what. Search ebay for 3157 type 2 switchback and then search for 3157 socket. Dont forget to solder the connections for years of trouble free operation. Oh you will need load resistors for Escalade, 6ohm.
@@2muchspl perfect man and thank you, I will try it out and let you know how it turns out. 1 more thing, what wires do you connect the resistors to? And thanks again
@@1996impalass unfortunately no, I mean yes u can spot that they are on when viewed from another vehicle. But as far as useable driver light: no. The nature of these small LEDs is more for visual appearance vs driving.
I still don't understand. 3 wires got to what and how do we get them to what. I have a ext but only amber light works. I read you need to change out socket because it has only two wires but we're do they go
M C 2 wires of the 3 wire socket will simply connect to the original 2 wires of the stock turn signal wiring of your EXT, the 3rd wire from that socket will tap to the positive wire on the fog light. You can do quick test at the battery to figure what wire is what when you get new led, sockets & all. Black will be ground (-) and go 1 by 1 with opposite wire (to + on battery, while black is touching -) to see what lights up on the LED. Example: when purple* wire touches +, led turned on white. This purple* wire will connect to positive wire on fogs. *Just a guess in wire coloring, these harnesses come in multiple colors.
Where did you buy your sockets because on the link that you have here from eBay to order lights and socket. I ordered them from that link but do not fit. Would you happen to have a part number or something because these did not work
M C you will have to trim 1 of the 3 locking tabs on the new socket IIRC, hold the new socket next to your original and you'll see that 1 is slightly longer than it should. I totally forgot about that step. I trimmed it with a simple razor blade, keep me posted.
M C thats easy, 1 end of resistor will connect to the black wire and the other end will connect to the opposite of the 2 wires on the turn signal wiring (not the wire that connected to the fog)
