Awesome to see you cover this system. The concept and world are super interesting. I bought into the initial kickstarter, but haven't managed to find people to play with.
I've been following this game since it's Kickstarter days, and have been active on their Discord pretty much from when it was opened. The creator has *consistently* said that this game IS for Everyone. There's quite a few sections in the rulebook which offer guidance on ways to avoid the worst of the stereotypes, and as long as you approach this with an open mind and a bare minimum of research then you can't go wrong!

HeroForge has a four part Actual Play called Chaos in Cahokia that you can check out. Its incredibly funny and in parts were so unhinged that the people doing ASL for the show had a hard time maintaining composure.
You might be surprised that it needs to be said not to play a stereotype but it actually does need to be said when it comes to playing a Native American. Thanks to the media and the lack of education that the general public receives, we’re seen as jokes and less than human. That’s why we’re referred to as “Indigenous creatures” or “something else”. I saw one guy playing as a Native in a Deadlands game and he was talking like Tonto. I ended up stopping the video because of the racism.
