Take the amp to a tech and swap out the optocouplers from the channelswitching. If online a few of them are broken, the amp doesn't seperate the channels clearly and you'll get a kind of channel-overlay. It's a Framus thing. I had three Dragons and two Cobras, and all those amps had the same fault.
BTW, your buddy's an idiot for shipping that amp with the tubes installed. He should've removed those from the sockets and packaged them separately. Within the same shipping box, sure, but not installed into the amp.. Or else you get situations like what you have here, with a possibility of damaged/dead tube(s). Doh! 🤦♂️
back in 2011 I was going to use a Cobra as backline (I didn't have a choice, it was a fly gig). I went on youtube and searched on it. All I found was a bunch of people who played blues on the clean channel. And then I found your video "Framus Cobra Metal". Been a loyal follower ever since :)
I recently drove to see my parents, which is a six hour drive. Only good thing about the drive is it gives me a chance to sit and soak in music more than I normally get. Listened to the first Slipknot album on the way here and it got to me, dude helped bring extreme drumming to a more mainstream audience. He'll be missed greatly, iconic musician. rip Joey! 🤘

Hi Ola. If the bend front is bothering you, Warwick/Framus still sells replacemts for the transformator, the led pcb and also for the front plate on their official store for the Cobra. Not very cheap, but never the less you get some stuff for the amp there.
I've been a Maiden fan since about 83/84'. I was around 10 yrs old. And this new song is growing on me. First lick of the intro.. I knew right away, this was an Adrian tune, cause he's really been exploring the southern rock/bluesy thing more and more. And he's great at it. And I like it.. it gives this Maiden tune a different personality/characteristic.. And hs anyone noticed, it's not the typical Gallop? I like that Maiden after all these years, and are still willing to take chances and try new things.. They could have very easily spent their entire careers keeping the 80's sound and style on repeat and still sell out arena's and stadiums.. but they don't. They're always searching for something different and new. I can't wait to hear the album.

Your video that you made about the frames cobra 10 years ago is what made me buy my frames 8 years ago. I’m so glad you revisited this amp. Unfortunately the only problems I have is the FX Loop is messed up that I need to get fixed and channel switch pedal is screwed up. Other than that I love my amp. Can’t wait to see the new review you do for it

It's because they didn't use dark enough tint on the deeper graining. There's contrast but it's physical contrast instead of color contrast...you can feel the open pore finish but need specific lighting to really see it. It's a non-popping finish and a lot of people like that.
For those who care … that cobra was made in December of 2003 and it is a v2 revision (the most sought after version). There was v1 (prototype never sold), v1a, v2 and v5. Also, I’m pretty surprised that the person who sold you this kept the tubes in the sockets during shipping lol…
Sometimes, videos of live bands sound out of tune because of something being lost in translation between the sound reaching the camera, the cameras audio recording capability not being great, and then uploading to the internet. I remember watching videos of katatonia on RU-vid and thinking they sounded awful live, but when I actually went to see them live, they were spot on
The Framus Cobra review was one of the first videos of yours I ever saw, and THE first video that got me into guitar gear. It was my first dream head and still is, one day when I have the cash hopefully they aren't all hoarded and lost lol But something about seeing you unbox that really hit me with nostalgia real hard and I am just happy we still get to enjoy your videos today, makes me feel like an inspired kid again.
